  1. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/seattle-city-council-member-suggests-firing-white-officers-massive-reduction-police True or False? If true, why would it be acceptable?
  2. Hah... https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-07-15/teenage-boy-was-given-estrogen-developed-breast-tissue-while-in-l-a-county-juvenile-hall-lawsuit-alleges https://nypost.com/2020/07/17/teen-boy-grew-breasts-from-estrogen-prescribed-in-jail-lawsuit-says/ This is... Why would you do that? Man hating?
  3. If you live there and think that this is a non-issue, then good for you. I can't verify one way or the other, so I can rely only on some other people opinions and perception. Others had some other feeling, so I guess it's all about what you experienced. I'd love to hear here from some more Swedes, especially women in their 20s. I can't pull the ones I've met in Gdansk in Poland to write their experiences of what they've been talking about in hushed voice.
  4. How would that affect the claimed victim-blaming? I understand that the total number of assaults could go up, but would it affect the approach to people who report as victims?
  5. @Volourn I'd be even more concerned, if this is a real problem. https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/europe-rape-victims-accused-racism I'd not be able to verify it, as I'd not have enough time to research the topic, but it does fall in line of experiences and observations of some of the people i know personally and living in UK, France, Germany, Sweden and Norway. They can be biased and not representative, but they get that feeling for some reason, right?
  6. @Volourn So it seems to me, that he got a privilaged treatment compared to a person of another descend, if that person would say the same words but replaced the color with another. This viewpoint is also an interesting to listen.
  7. Not yet. It's not unexpected. When COVID hit, I made some prediction, that either comapnies will start decoupling from China on their own, or Trump at some point will make them do so. The thing is, he is too weak and unless coming short of calling them terrorists and starting a war, he will have no tools. There is a point though, that the same companies, that call for social justices and are virtue signaling in USA and EU, keep their mouth shut or bend their butts for China's ruling party. Barr voiced an opinion, which is generally true - in terms of planning. Chinese make decisions with decades in mind, while corporate heads make decisions with the next earnings call in mind (i've seen this first hand). He did not add also the point, where we are governed and make political and economic decisions based on the election calendar. This is why the more "diverse" and more split society is, the less potent and weaker it becomes.
  8. I've seen some fuss on headlines around a Nick Cannon guy. Who's that?
  9. @Amentep Yea, that is the one. Where groups shouted, both turned away and then the BLM group ambushed the other group from the other angle and shot the girl for arguing witj them and shouting ALM.
  10. Well, they clould start using a case from recent times, where a girl got shot just for saying ALM
  11. Good thing is happening, at least for EU citizens https://mobile.reuters.com/article/BigStory12/idUSKCN24H126 https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/landmark-court-decision-forces-us-tech-giants-keep-data-eu-citizens-europe
  12. 13. I wonder how accurate this is. https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/twitter-hiding-screenshot-its-trending-and-search-blacklist-tools Btw, this is the usual list of my morning reads. Reuters Bloomberg WSJ Marketwatch ZeroHedge Occasionally I'll glimpse at things like Yahoo News and FoxNews Youtube for some headlines in regards to US.
  14. Oh my... I have no idea, if this type of thinking is driving the current changes, but it is so wrong... Seriously? So many of these are so wrong... https://nmaahc.si.edu/learn/talking-about-race/topics/whiteness @Maedhros @ShadySands @BruceVC To address some of the previous thread. The point here is, that there is no simple black and white solutions and looking at a world through simple, ideologically driven concepts, will regress the civilization. Apply similar levels of scrutiny to anyone and you will see that a lot of people will suddenly have a lot more flaws. I certainly got on a receiving end of the big mouthed Orange man aka. losing some money, but this is where I look at something else. What are the actual actions and their consequences, and how it fits in a bigger picture beyond someones immediate emotions. I couldn't care less for someone's feels just because someone doesn't like a word. Going further, I like being pragmatic and value reason, logic and hard data/facts. I also dislike the 'insta story' culture, which leads to nothing more than lynch mobs and a destruction of due process. (and there is a lot of lynch mobs in the USA now) Maybe I'll put later some other post regarding other 'problematic' topics, and that they are nothing more than displays of geneticly driven unconcious bias, and survival tactic of ingroup and outgroup bias.
  15. So just in case this is the next atep for 2020 - Ninja bears https://m.facebook.com/serwisdonaldpl/videos/318619885973243/?refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fm.facebook.com%2F&_rdr
  16. @ShadySands Check methodology, check sources and look up the history of errors. This is usually sufficient to fact check the fact checker. If reliability is stable, then you can make these less frequent, but i'd never trust something at a face value. Not when it comes anywhere near politics.
  17. You can turn that around and ask, how many crimes, especially voilent crimes are committed based on certain group characteristics to the amount of population. Statistics is a bitch, and it's fairly easy to frame whatever case you desire by pulling only a part of a picture.
  18. This sounds like a bias. Do you run statistics? Do you look at others with the same level of diligence, to make this claim and back it up? Don't you think that you might have a certain perception due to the scrutinity and amount of coverage that the current POTUS is getting? Etc.
  19. @Gromnir Do you think, this sets up some precedence? What about other territories? Do you think there are more in a similar state? What about resource exploitation on such lands? What about estates? Infrastructure? What you think might be the consequences?
  20. Why so? I have just healthy amount of skepticism. If something looks too good or too shocking, it usually is not true. I do not know the methodology. What were the sources, against which the facts were chcecked? Can these sources be verified? And so on and so forth. I do not study every Trump opinion and statement, but based on political personalities closer to where I live, I'm fairly sure booth sides of argument lie with similar frequency. Whatever absurd you'll pull for one side, I'm confident that you can pull a similar from the other side.
  21. Do they do so for all politicians and journalists as well? Pretty sure that would be in the average, especially around the Russiagate, supremacism, riots, etc. Also, who fact checked the fact checkers? Where do you get the confidence and assurance that these are accurate?
  22. @Gromnir I was wondering, what's your view on the SCOTUS ruling around the Oklahoma case? Is that really pulling legal oversight from the state and makes it an area directly under fed oversight with local laws secured by old treaties?
  23. @Zoraptor I respect your point of view and it does have merit as well. We can return to this msg in 5-10ys and see how bad both of us predicted the reality. We both have some assumptions and both can be immensly wrong. I'd say, it'll be interesting to look at who will have the most dynamic economic power, who will control most resources and production capabilities, and who will look more stable and show a strength of their culture in a more convincing way.
  24. Careful, you might be putting inadevrtly a good argument that homogenous societies are stronger than diverse ones.
  25. True, that the surrounding environment in the USSR was weak enough to allow this change, but the movement got the increasing support over years because is was targetting apparatus of the state, and not looting and destroying properties of people on every chance for protest.
