RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
I doubt it will be easy, but as for not having been done already I see that more as a symptom of the publisher dominance over the industry more than a case of it being too difficult. Publishers like to play it safe and I don't see this sort of system being popular with the COD type of gamer, and that seems to be the publisher holy grail, a game that sells like COD, whereas SC is already funded and as the funding grows Chris Roberts can start to incorporate a lot more content that isn't simply run of the mill. He can afford to experiment with less traditional game mechanics/systems.

How will the physical and digital copies of the game work?
I said it didn't answer the pressing questions about obtaining patches/content.....in the context of the physical copy. And the handling of the digital copies....I didn't think you'd get the two mixed up or start thinking that I need DRM clarification in that regard. Hell to quote myself here: "Then there's the digital copy of the game in my tier which I can select for GOG, which would be perfect for all intents and purposes......" Hell, to quote myself: "I would assume that means the DRM free physical versions will also allow you to register the game on GOG which will give you all the patches, ugrades, etc. through their service."

I did read your OP, but your reply to me specifically referenced obtaining future updates/patches. I did not address your concerns regarding the "handling" of different versions of the game as I didn't have an answer. My original post also wasn't aimed at you, I was answering the post I quoted. Just saying.

It also says the extra digital copies are DRM free. Update #4 says that the digital DRM free version will be through GOG. I would assume that means the DRM free physical versions will also allow you to register the game on GOG which will give you all the patches, ugrades, etc. through their service. Just an assumption on my part though. In the end, I doubt OE will abandon those who bought physical copies. If they don't come to an arrangement with GOG, they also have the option of requesting Paradox to host the patches.

In Update #19 the description of all the physical rewards states that the game is DRM free. I don't think that has changed.

What are you playing now?
You can usually find a battle between Spanish and English man o' wars in the southern sections. If you sail around the edges of the battle until someone wins, any escorts are usually in very bad shape. It makes clearing them out much easier. If you don't want to wait, join the battle on the losing side. Once you take down the winning side, then turn on the remaining ships. You can often get 4 or 5 ships to add to your fleet that way.

Anyone wanna share some popcorn and watch the Sims 4 train wreck?
" Unfortunately, EA did not provide us a review code early enough to fully evaluate the game in advance." - Game Informer "We here at Kotaku haven't had enough time with the game to give it a proper review......" - Kotaku Gamespot has only user reviews. "Editor's Note: Because EA did not provide advance review copies of The Sims 4 until Monday, we were unable to produce our usual review in time for launch." - IGN "Turns out, EA did not provide advance review copies for the latest installment of its popular sim franchise." - GameZone Anyone want to take a guess as to why advance copies were so scarce?

I also have a Wasteland 2 steam key to give away. As much as I was looking forward to playing the game, the 30 gig download would cost me $300 in download fees which is just not going to happen. Anyone want it?

Having just found out from the latest PoE update that the beta key will be separate from the full release key, I'm offering my Steam beta key when it becomes available (and if it isn't in any way locked to an email address or particular steam account). I don't intend to play the beta so someone should get some use from it. Any takers? (I didn't post in the PoE forums.....they scare me over there! )

What are you playing now
The Walking Dead S2 E3. Each episode this season has had less "player" interaction than the last. This latest episode has only 2 or 3 places, other than dialogue choices, where the player is required to make any input. Regardless, I'm still hooked on the story and will stick with it till the end.

Dragon Age: Inquistion
My opinion, because Bioware treat them as childish. There's no depth or substance. They treat their romances as fan service, putting the minimal effort into them that allows them to check that off the list. Romances? Check. It seems to me as if Bioware themselves are embarrassed by the romances. Multiple spells, immersive lore and loads of explorable areas ( or dungeons ) are integrated into the game, they affect your character level and how you play the game. Romances do nothing to affect your character or how the game plays. If they can be removed with no discernible change to the game, how relevant does Bioware consider them to be?

Dragon Age: Inquistion
My point being, romance is not included in Bioware games, they have unlockable sexy time cut scenes. They have mini games such as guess the correct present for your targeted love interest to unlock a sexy time cut scene. The "romances" have no integration into any other aspect of the game or storyline, there is no upside or downside of participating in their romances. They are inconsequential. If Bioware want their romances to be taken seriously, they need to integrate the mechanics into the game as a whole, not have them as some silly mini game. As an aside, I don't take Bioware or their romances seriously. I have an opinion that took me a minute to type out. Not a very large commitment on my part.

Dragon Age: Inquistion
In other words, it's not romance you want included in your games, it's sex. I've yet to play a Bioware game that has romance as anything more than a trivial mini game to unlock a shallow, uninteresting dry hump scene. If my dislike of their implementation of romance makes you a better RPG'er than me, I can live with that.
