  1. <sigh> Just imagine few additional AAA millions thrown at writers <sigh> Ah well, it's already a dream coming true so... who knows. It could be a dream within a dream ... Actually let's stick to the one.
  2. True that! In your face... umm <just a sec, what was the site name? oh right!> In your faces dorkly.com! I'll keep my torch lit just in case of some other very important list arise at the site I've never heard of before! What? Ok, ok I know - it is always good to share the word... I am sorry <mumbling to himself> None of them "dorklers" will be interested in PoE anyway Well, now I just feel stupid for caring at all. Then again, it was a list on the internet...
  3. So, started playing Broken Age... It's not bad. Not at all. It's got some good humor in there and the basic story is interesting. But it doesn't feel like a game that should have taken long or much effort to produce. Most of the puzzles are fairly straightforward, like you said, and it feels like this act is going to be fairly short (I think I completed Vella's part already, but maybe it will continue after I catch up on the boy's part?). I don't see a lengthy game forming here, but I might be judging too quickly (maybe I am not complete with Vella's part yet, like I think I am). Btw, don't answer that question. I honestly think that PE and WL2 and T:ToN will be in a different league from any other Kickstarter game, in terms of depth, length, and overall quality. Maybe my expectations are too high, but there you go.
  4. TESO is actually in the top 3? It isn't even being made by Bethesda! It looks terrible, and will likely fall flat on its face. They took out anything that made Elder Scrolls special and made it into some generic MMO. Stupid Zenimax's fault. Also, no Wasteland 2? Should be in the top 10. Bogus list!
  5. I don't mind adding something like this if it makes sense. Just adds another layer to the game. But if it's just tacked on as some buffing and debuffing mechanic without mentioning any of the social issues these drugs produce in the world, then just leave it out. Adding some additional dialogue options for drug addicts would be cool as well, but that might be going too far (only saying that because of budget/time restraints).
  6. Avellone didn't cut anything out because he understands the art of comedy. Pain is joy (for everyone else).
  7. Broken Age has the great story and memorable characters, for certain, but the puzzles are (mostly) pretty straightforward, particularly for the veteran adventure gamer. Definitely not bad mouthing it and I'm planning on playing it again soon. Urg, well I'll have to give it a shot soon. Bad puzzles can turn an adventure game into an interactive movie. I'm looking at you, Dreamfall.
  8. I think Obsidian will get things done and do it right, but there will be a definite delay (unfair to hold them accountable for a date they were forced to place before pre-production really began). Also, Wasteland 2 looks to be shaping up quite nicely. I heard some iffy things about it (combat too simple, for one), but inXile came back around and laid my fears to rest in their last update. I guess not all the features are in yet, so it cannot be judged fully, but it looks great so far, and sounds like great additions will be coming to beta players soon. I got Broken Age, but haven't played it yet. All I'm hoping for is a game as good as Grim Fandango or Full Throttle or Monkey Island... Great story, memorable characters, great puzzles.
  9. I disagree with anyone wanting to give MCA a break on this. Promises have been made... Plus, I think he started getting into things after getting Sogg.
  10. Will there be new stretch goals?

I guess nothing, but they had intention to add stretch goals for wilderness/companions. But they canned the idea. No worries! :p

  11. To those complaining, IMO, they wouldn't have even offered this unless they wanted to do this themselves and needed the extra funding to do so. I would gladly help them fund some additional content, if this is what they want. If they are just doing it for us and every goal they were shooting for is already being met, then forget it; I'd rather we not postpone the game for subpar content.
  12. More companions sounds good to me; I would gladly pledge more for that. I know you guys are focusing on making each companion amazing and integral to the experience, like in Torment, and that this is time consuming, but the current amount of companions (8, I believe) doesn't feel like enough considering you can recruit 5 total companions. It feels like there should be at least 10 companions, but maybe a couple more to round things out, so 12 would be perfect to me. More than that is even better, of course. A lot to ask, I know... More wilderness would be cool, but I'm not sure. Baldur's Gate 1 was an amazing first playthrough for me, but I noticed that subsequent playthroughs often resulted with me ignoring many of those wilderness areas. I would love to see them in the game, but I think companions would take a priority for me. So companions > wilderness for me, but I'd go for both.
