The repair system is horrible. It's probably the worst part of the entire game. It's probably the worst repair system I've ever encountered in a game. Better to have no repair then just a system of annoying busywork.

Everyone knows I exist and mad it their mission to make me vomit, and the easiest way is a big, disgusting insect. Its not even that disgusting, though. And it just spits something at you. It would have been much cooler if it tried to land on your face and lay eggs ion your eyes or something and left this wet acid goo on your skin. Now that would be worth something. Personality is important for enemies.
-
Bethesda should have hired you. It would have improved the game dramatically.

A greater variety of enemies would have been nice. Non-humans, that is. The human enemies have a pretty decent variety. Actually most of the non human enemies are pretty dull. Yao Guai are about the only ones with any sort of personality. Why is the bloatfly even in the game? Talk about wasting development time.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty decent, especially for a first episode. Sometimes it felt a bit like it was trying to channel BSG, but since BSG was mostly a pretty good show, that's not really a bad thing. I liked the fact that there really wasn't any fighting for the bulk of the two hours, other than that little bit at the beginning, which seemed kind of out of place.

WHich is pretty sad since Eastern European developers generally make more interesting games than their US counterparts. -
I find it pretty sad that things like that end up in the negative section of a review. Gaming is rapidly becoming a hobby for lazy idiots.

eh, how'd you do that? i had a minigun and a AK-47 ar whatever it's called few minutes after i left megaton. I wouldn't call it hard as much as repetitive. I found at least 2-3 hunting rifles while clearing out the school and the super market. I don't know if it's my pc but there have been some weird things happening. When I do some critical hit and sent my opponent literally flying around, there's sometimes some weird scrap of metal flying around in the distance just like an UFO. I avoid getting close to it as it may hurt my character but it flies in circles and makes a weird noise (just like a sword, ya know, "swoosh"). Really weird. I have seen this 3 times already... In Fallout 3 dead protrectrons and their parts tend to come flying out of the sky when a new cell is loaded. It's a bit disturbing at first. Some of the physics are pretty wonky. I remember once I blew up the super mutant master standing on the ledge in Georgetown and he went flying through the air all the way to the other side of the map.

Yeah, its kind of surprising. The vagaries of publ;ishers are pretty weird though. I remember when Sir Tech had a finished Wizardry 8, that's right a FINISHED entire game in a famous line of games from a well known company with a long history of game development, and they could never find a publisher for it. Eventually they worked out some kind of deal with ENX or something and at least got the game on the shelf in small numbers. I bought three copies. Sir Tech shut their doors soon after. -
There are CHinese Assault rifles all over the gameworld. There are several just sitting around for easy and free in Metro Central. edit: I should also point out that the vanilla hunting rifle is one of the best small guns in the game. Except for some of the unique weapons, the argument can be made that the hunting rifle is THE best all around small gun in the game.

So, Is this game delayed or not?

I put my preorder in with Gamestop last May. I'm worried they're going to forget about it if the game doesn't come out until June of next year. -
I think it's totally understandable why some women would be less than interested in playing a male character. I also think its unfortunate that the western crpg market is such a male-orientated market. I think its one of the reasons why there are so few female posters on message boards such as this.

If they become a publicly traded company, that's probably the end of any good games. Nothing crushes creativity brutally underfoot like a fat suit waiting for a dividend check. -
Somebody's making space sims? Like Privateer and the X universe games? Link plz.

A game that looks better doesn't have to be one that does not play better. AGreed, And all things being equal I thinka better presentation is preferable to an inferior one. But as a gamer, I find it distubing that DA might sell 500,00 fewer copies because of the "bad" graphics. (Or whatever number was mentioned in the other thread.)
-
artisitic direction is greater than either gameplay or story? Bioshock is a better game than System Shock 2 because it looks better? No, this is all just personal preference. SO is your personal preference to play a game that loosk better/has a better presentation vs one that plays better/has a better story? Given a limited amount of resources, as most game devs do in fact have, something has to be given short shrift. SO if people do in fact value presentation above other things, then the other things are going to get less attention from developers.

All the dev silence means is that they've been told by Sega to not talk about the game. Why that would be the case cannot yet be determined. However, given the way Sega handled the Aliens crpg, they are obviously very cloak and dagger about this stuff. We all knew, though wished to believe otherwise, that the Aliens game was cancelled long before Sega officially pulled the plug. -
Ok, Cool. Like I said, I guess I just doesn't see their history as one of great writing. It all seems pretty similar. But that's probably just me.
-
Maybe other developers are simply a little better at writing now. Again, to me, the problem at the moment is that the game industry doesn't, for the most part, seem to feel that great writing is important to making a game. Maybe they are right, maybe not. I'm not judging that assessment. My only point is that Bioware is no more or less a problem than others, and they are still better, in some cases much better, than some.
-
That was pretty good. It started with him soundlng like he liked it, then he ended up spending the last 2 minutes ripping it apart.
-
It's probably just me, but I don't see a huge difference in writing "quality" from BG/BG2 generation of games to Bio's current crop. There are definitely gameplay differences, but writing differences...? Maybe I'm just not as big a fan of the older games as some people are so I tend not to place them on a pedestal.
