  1. I usually send my two normal sidekicks, Visas (as leader & melee monster) and Mira (with lots of skills & dual blasters) to the tomb. Whoever they bring along as a third group member varies. Then I tend to bring Kreia (no choice) and Mandalore to Iziz since he seems to be the only party member who has anything to say there (however little it is). Besides, someone has to pilot that Basilisk...
  2. Yes, that annoyed me as well... people like Tobin, some random Sith captain, Hanrarr, etc really shouldn't be tougher than most Jedis... But neither of that annoys me as greatly as Kreia killing 3 Jedi Masters with 1 blow, though. *sigh* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Judging by the visual effect used and what she says to them, she used the same sith technique that Nihilus uses to drain force users. If Nihilus could kill the rest of the Jedi Order with it, along with a whole planetary population of Miraluka, I don't see why Kreia shouldn't be able to kill 3 Jedi Masters with it. Speaking about Darth Nihilus, I personally think it's rather refreshing with a big bad boss that for once isn't ridiculously more powerful than the protagonist and only can be defeated due to dumb enemy AI. Don't mind him being easy to kill, in particular when it's explained why in the story. I'm more annoyed by the fact that the only place in the entire game where Nihilus name is mentioned is in the journal, and when you select him in battle. Everyone talking about him in the game only calls him "The Master". Come to think of it, the same applies to Visas. She never tells you her name, and the only one who ever calls her by her name in the game is the Exile.
  3. I believe it's intentional rather than a bug. It's not just the Sith Assassins, it's the same in the Tomb. Many of your non-beast opponents there have saves near 100, while you seem to suffer a massive save penalty that doesn't show up on the Character info screen when something requiring a save is used against you. My character was thrown around like a ragdoll in a fight where one of the opponents used that disruptor rifle with a DC14 Knockback effect. I suppose it's meant to indicate that the dark side is strong on Korriban and boosts the might of darksiders. Makes no sense if your own character is a darksider too though, and is a pretty evil thing to do to consulars, since melee-based characters suffer little penalties there. Made me annoyed enough to hack the force powers script to grant a save DC bonus equal to their save mod bonus while on Korriban.
  4. You aren't supposed to be "teleported" to the academy and be able to control your character. It is supposed to be a cutscene where Atris is talking to a couple of her combat drones, and then cut back to the Ebon Hawk. So for some reason the cutscene didn't trigger and you ended up on the cutscene set in control of your character instead. Sounds like a bug, but the cutscene has always triggered for me so I don't know what could be wrong.
  5. If it's the "what's your problem with the jedi" option that one is a bit odd. It doesn't just check the influence, but checks if you've already talked about that topic before. If you've talked about it once, you'll always get the Influence-failure response from him later. And since that particular topic is part of one of the discussions you can have with him when you first run into him in the enclave ruins, chances are you've already talked about it once.
  6. I haven't checked, but somehow I doubt the floating orb would be too eager to praise you for in order to arrange a fuel source for Telos.
  7. From your description I would guess its the movie cutscene that gets triggered from Kreia's dialog if you ask her if she is a Jedi or a Sith. If so it's in the game, though you probably need some Influence with her to see it, and probably high enough Intelligence score for the proper reply to be available. There is an [intelligence] reply in that conversation that eventually leads to the movie. Don't know if you can reach it through other paths.
  8. It appears that this is a bug, as all the dialog for informing Grenn about the new fuel source is there. After some digging it looks like the problem is that a variable is set one too high on Vogga's dialog when you inform him you have dealt with Goto. After changing this I could talk to Grenn about the fuel source. If you know how to dig around in the data files, you could fix this fairly easy with a GFF Editor. This is what I did: 1) Open the file 303NAR_dlg.erf (in the Modules folder) and extract Vogga.dlg from it. You can use nwhak.exe to do this if you have it (a utility that comes with Neverwinter Nights), or the ERF Editor if you don't have that (select the file in the treeview and choose export in the menu). 2) Open vogga.dlg in the GFFEditor. 3) In the GFFEditor treeview, find "EntryList" and inside that find "30". 4) For that entry, change "ActionParam1" to 4. The value is 5 as standard. 5) Save the edited Vogga.dlg in the Override folder. As long as you haven't already spoken to Vogga about having dealt with Goto, this should enable you to speak with Grenn about the fuel and receive the reward from him for solving the fuel situation, after you have spoken to Vogga with the fixed dialog. Even the end-game is reflected by this and he no longer mentions a lack of fuel when you speak to him then. Just remember to remove vogga.dlg from your override folder later when the patch is released.
  9. I assume you use a swedish keyboard layout from your forum name. This works on a swedish keyboard: Hold down SHIFT and press the "
  10. If I remember correctly you are told by Master Dorak on Dantooine when he tells you about the recent history of the Jedi Order. When there is a choice of three or so questions to ask, picking the "How did Revan fall to the Dark Side" alternative he will mention that a third of the republic fleet was under Revan's direct command by the end of the war.
  11. Revan had a third of the entire republic fleet under her direct command during the Mandalorian War. That sounds like it would qualify for "admiral". If she was actually granted military rank within the republic fleet, or if she was just given command of a sizable chunk of the fleet by the senate as a Jedi remains untold. For example, Bastila was given command of the Endar Spire at the start of the first game, even though Trask mentions she was not an officer within the fleet. Though the Jedi seems to hold a special position of authority within the republic, Revan was not acting on behalf of the Jedi Order when joining the war. She and her followers joined the republic fleet against the will of the Jedi Council. It's possible that Revan convinced the Senate to place the republic fleet under her command without actually officially joining the fleet. She is described as very charismatic and was bringing several hundred Jedi with her, an offer the Senate probably wouldn't turn away as the Mandalorians were crushing the republic forces at the time.
  12. It is mentioned in the first game that the final battle of the war took place above Malachor V, though not much else is mentioned about it, when Canderous tells you about the Mandalorian War in KotOR. That conversation thread goes something like: So, he mentions that the final battle was fought over Malachor V, but nothing about any fleet destroying gravity bombs, forbidden planets or such. The start of the next conversation with Canderous suggests that Mandalore was killed by Revan, and it would likely have been at the Final Battle at Malachor, since Mandalorians don't retreat. It also suggests that most of the Mandalorians fought to the death in the final battle, leaving few survivors, but speaks nothing of what kind of casualties the Republic fleet and the embedded Jedi suffered. But obviously there where enough of them left to round up any Mandalorian survivors and destroy their weapons. Story continuity with the first game of the series apparently wasn't too much of a priority.
  13. According to what you learn on Dantooine and Kashyyk in the first game, the Rakatan Infinite Empire predates the Republic with more than 5000 years. In the Dantooine ruins, the ancient droid says it has been more than 10 revolutions around the star by the system's outermost planet since it last saw a builder, which Bastila explains would take more than 20 000 years. On Kashyyk, the computer by the star map reveals that the rakatan agricultural reformation device malfunctioned 241 years after it last had any communication with the Builders (the Rakata), which was 29,642 years ago. And this was likely during the collapse of the Infinite Empire, placing their "golden age" earlier than that. Though apparently the Infinite Empire collapsed rather quickly once it began its fall, as the Star Forge drained the entire Rakatan race of their Force connection, making them unable to maintain their empire since much of their technology was Force powered. Then it caused them turn on each other in a bloody Civil War, and a plague finished off what was left of them. The Infinite Empire was described as being made up of 500 systems and more than a trillion beings (most of them enslaved races) at its peak.
  14. But she didn't defeat Revan... If Malak hadn't backstabbed his master, Bastila would probably have been killed by Darth Revan if they had gotten the chance to fight. Revan was more powerful than Malak, and Bastila couldn't beat Malak a year later and much experience richer. So Malak saved Bastila's life, Bastila saved Revan's life, and Revan (potentially) saved Bastila's life. Only Malak who wasn't saved, but that's what you get for being the antagonist I suppose... Though I find it a bit odd that the Jedi would send a padawan (as Bastila was) to do direct battle with the Dark Lord of the Sith. If she was there because of her Battle Meditation, wouldn't it have made more sense if she stayed on the Jedi/Republic ship and meditated to help their fleet and strike team?
  15. HK47s owner history, according to his own memories of his past, was: Revan --> Mandalorian Soldier --> Hutt Gangster ---> Coruscant Senator --> Systech Corp official ---> Yuka Laka ---> Revan. In the conversation option with HK-47 that appears after the Leviathan, we also learn that Revan was the one who created HK-47. Some screenshots of that dialog, below: HK-47 Creator 1 HK-47 Creator 2 HK-47 Creator 3 HK-47 Creator 4
  16. Well, not intentionally, that is actually another bug in the scripts for Juhani's dialog (there are plenty of those). If you check the conditions for the conversation threads, there are gender checks in there. The way the conversation threads are set up, that ending is only supposed to show if Revan is female. That's where the "blown out of proportion" speculation comes from. Juhani appears to have been rushed into the game. Both due to the many bugs in her conversation threads, and the fact that she rarely speaks with other party members when out on a mission, and is the only party member who you can't ask if they'll still follow you at the meeting on the Ebon Hawk after the Leviathan. If you peek in her conversation files, you also notice a lot of unused (but voiced) threads in there. Among other things, she has a lot to say about some of the planets you visit, while the "What do you know of this place?" option never shows up in-game. There's also a conversation about her animosity towards Canderous which never shows up in-game either (at least I've never seen it).
  17. If your Revan is female and you don't piss her off completely, and you finish her Personal and History conversation threads (skillfully dodging the bug that prevents the Personal conversation from continuing. One of the Personal conversations will show up ONLY when you are at EXACTLY the third stage in the History conversation due to a bug in the scripts. Advance too far in the dialog about her History before picking that option and the "Romance" is broken as the Personal conversation won't progress.). I think you'll need to deal with the Xor subplot (the slaver) too. If you do this and talk to Juhani at the top of the Rakatan temple on the Unknown World after Bastila has fled (Lightside only, as Juhani would be dead by then otherwise), she'll confess that she has feelings for your character. (Technical: If you have the PC version and know how to mod KotOR, you can fix the bug yourself since Bioware'll never do it. Open the script "k_hjuh_p23" and change "GetGlobalNumber("G_JUHANIH_STATE") == 3" to "GetGlobalNumber("G_JUHANIH_STATE") >= 3", compile the script and put it in your override folder.)
  18. Seems like you can have at least the echani handmaiden and Marr at the same time at least. Check the 5th movie snippet at Gamespy, they are both in the party at the same time there, beating up some kinrath spiders. If you look at the 4th movie, it seems likely there'll be some friction if you have them both in the party at the same time though, as the handmaiden appears unhappy with Marr's presence on the ship. http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/679/67....html?fromint=1
  19. He... They should take lessons from bioware on how to write gender-neutral about Revan, last I played she was quite clearly female. This chronicle entry also seems to contradict the story in KotOR(1) a bit, where you never get the impression that Revan was a jedi master, but rather a young knight who defied the Council to join the Republic war effort against the Mandalorians. "Charismatic and powerful, it was inevitable many of the Order would flock to Revan's seemingly noble cause", as one of the masters at the Dantooine academy tells you, also sounds like a lot more than "a lone Jedi Padawan" that the chronicles mentions defies the Council and joins Revan.
  20. Perhaps not fears, but... After having read the reviews, I'm a bit concerned about the ending. A poor ending can ruin the feel of having just finished an otherwise excellent game. Good endings are apparently very hard to make though, I can only remember two games where the ending sequence actually added to my enjoyment of the game, rather than leaving a sour taste in the mouth or a feeling of "whas that it?" disappointment. I'm also the kind of person who wants a happy ending, otherwise it feels like a huge anticlimax. This is, for example, why I've only played Planescape:Torment once even though I liked that game a lot. I can't bring myself to play it again knowing that no matter what I do, it ends like *that*. It feels kind of pointless. In addition, the reviews makes me a bit concerned about the NPCs you have joining your group. I get the impression that none of them are friendly and likable, that they are just along as mercenaries with their own agenda. Sure, I don't expect everyone to get along always and agree on everything, but it would be a bit of a letdown to get stuck with party members who you feel and care nothing about. And if you don't say or do the right thing to/with them throughout the game, they'll turn on you in the end, like in NWN:HotU. It also seems a bit silly in a game about playing a Jedi Knight that you won't get a lightsaber until you've gone 40% through the game. After all, the lightsaber is the symbol of the jedi moreso than force powers. For some reason, most StarWars games I've played tends to start you out without a lightsaber, but going through almost half of the game without it, as a Jedi, seems a bit too extreme. (Oh well, you can always mod the game I suppose to fix that). Oh, and I'm also a bit concerned that the sequel will screw over the original crew from the first game too much. Sequels that take place too close in time to the original game tends to make the grand adventure of the first seem insignificant and ultimately pointless, and turn then great and heroic characters into weak and broken characters in the new story. I really.... dislike... that. That's why I prefer sequels that are not direct continuations of a story to take place enough years later that the original story won't lose its impact and the original protagonists can keep their dignity and achievements intact. Hopefully these concerns will be unfounded, and I shouldn't read too much into information gleaned from reviews.
  21. Unless Revan has gone back to wearing that stylish outfit with the hood and cape (but hopefully not the ugly mask), it's hard to see how she|he would show up in the game since it would be difficult to make him|her look the way everyone who's played the first game expects her|him to look. (Unless you'll have to customize the Revan character as well as the new protagonist when you start a new game, but that would be too much of a giveaway that Revan will return in person. )
