Caelis! !! :joy: I've missed you, sweetie! I'm glad that you have been doing positive things to further your life. :D

yeah, I was thinking that too. With all the race/hate going on in the US these days, I do wonder though how much of it might start from spam propoganda and then spin off to get worse and worse. I've come to realize that with most of the civil rights issues, that there is more incorrect info being spread around that correct info.

I received this in an email the other day, and figured that I would see what others think of this. >Our granddaughter in California was turned down for a teaching job, >because she only had one yr. of Spanish. She got a job at a private >school. She now teaches in Rancho Cucamonga, second grade. > >Had an interesting conversation with a lady of Hispanic origin last >week. She told me that she planned to come down to St. Mary's and get a >job in Admissions (where I work). When I pointed out that we didn't >have any openings, she advised me that "soon" current employees will >have to be fired to hire bi-lingual employees. According to this lady, >the Spanish-speaking people of the US are going to demand that all >public facilities like hospitals, courthouses, etc. - be staffed by >people who read, speak and comprehend Spanish. > >We hear about the silent majority, but I think we are going to have to >speak up or find ourselves a conquered country. That would be an >interesting historical note - greatest land in the world conquered by >Mexico without ever firing a shot! Think about it. >Petition to require citizenship to be eligible for social services in >the United States. No amnesty and no free services for illegal >immigrants. > >I the undersigned below, agree that we need to keep English as our >primary language and those who live in our country need to learn >ENGLISH, not make the US citizens conform to Spanish. Personally, I think that this is going too far, to an extent... like the part where people who have been in the jobs for years being fired suddenly. This to me makes it strange, since the California Constitution states in Article 3, Section 6 that English is the official language of California.

I think you are using memory and diskdrives interchangably. do you have 16 gig's of disk space or 16gigs of random access memory? how are you using photoshop without a video card? for that matter, how are you getting images on the screen without a video card? (I'm not talking high end, mega bucks video card, just any) Sorry, but I think part of the problem is terminology and what you are actually working with. I still think that a larger hard drive is the way to go. photoshop files can get large depending on how extensively you use the program.
-
I'd suggest looking for something larger, even if you don't have a video card to play more advanced games on yet.

I didn't realize there were mother boards on the market that supported that. As far as a hard drive. Seagate are really good and reliable. Most of the hard drives that I see now are about 160Gig. Seems like a lot, until you start using it.
-
Currently reading "Tuesdays with Morrie" well, actually, currently reading the boards. but the hard copy book I'm reading is "Tuesdays with Morrie" then again I'm also listening to "S is for Silence" ... not one of the best imho.

Listening to Asia... heat of the moment to be exact on the song.

My fav food is strawberries. I am getting to a point more and more of not liking chocolate.

or that you know how to party, depending on what school you went to. The sad thing is that more and more employeers are looking for that little piece of paper, which often has nothing to do with the type of job someone is performing.

at least I know I will get mail from someone then.

ya think??? I also figure that we have enough to whine about, since it seems like it will be forever until we see NWN's. If they announce the next game now, more than likely most people will loose the desire to play the newest game by the time it comes out, because they will have overanalyzed it, and been in more than a few fights with the devs.. and generally lost interest.

I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that many companies don't schedule enough time for QA, and many people who come out of college can't program correctely (this isn't against any of the people at the gaming companies that we all love, but from personal experience in school and from hearing hubby discsuss the wonderful programming that he sees and needs to fix). Many of us have also heard Josh go on about how one error gets fixed and many many others crop up... I've also heard some QA guys say that they live in feast or famine ways. They are either given a lot with a short amount of time to test in (hence long hours) or they are twiddling their thumbs and searching the net for some new info on the industry.
-
If you think you qualify other than that, try for the position. Using the comment of a 4 year degree is often just something to help limit the number of people the companies have to sort through. But depending on the company, that isn't a big issue. Personality tends to actually be more likely to get you a job than a degree. Meaning that the personality fits in with the rest of the company. :D

I know the last thread was closed.. because, well, because it became an annoyance. But lets try again. Here is a FAQ of new Annoyance Law ... this seems to explain some of it.

Men can have maternity leave. Also, it is more often that women take time off to take care of the children when they are sick, and to deal with dr's appointments, etc. On the other hand, the men that I have worked with tend to take longer lunches and later starts in the am's.... soooooooo.. I think it really all pays off in the end.
-
My other question is what is the class? because that can affect what kinds of info you give.
-
There is a level where having the glass ceiling removed is nice.. but having the government state that there must be a certain number of women is silly. It is just as easy for them to place women in those positions, but have women who really have no interest and no knowledge, so you end up with someone who is just there on the payroll but has no power at all. The fact that the government is getting involved is pretty darned funny.

no reason. I'm listening to the history channel right now. thought about listening to the radio, but that would require me to move.

Sometimes the problem is that if you want there to be different animation for each of those types of hits, that it makes even more models necessary, and that takes even more time to create. Yet most of us also want games to play in a timely manner because we blow threw the games faster than they are making it onto the market. For the number of people who want to have more animations there are even more people who are more interested in the story line.

Since Flash is so popular and is indeed vector (but doesn't use the full abilities from what I can tell) I doubt that vector ever go bye-bye.

I've thought for a while that MS leaves problems in their code... or maybe even creates them so that they have something to deal with in the next release.. and it gives them reasons for more releases.

I just found this, and thought it was great enough to share..... so even though Christmas is over, it does still fit, because... well, because of the gaming industry. The Grinch That Stole OOP Every Coder in Codeville liked objects a lot. "Tested," "Reusable,' that's what was hot. But the Grinch of Reality sulked in his cave, Saying, "Hear them all talk of the time that they'll save!" The Grinch hated Coders, and liked them to sweat. He thought, "I can make them unhappy, I'll bet!" He read through 12 texts, then looked up with a grin: "Why, this is as good as original sin!" He read with a chortle, "An object or class, Is like a black box hiding all that it has. Its details invisible: All that you know Is what should go in and what answers will show." He slunk to the West Coast and into a lab, Where chip engineers were at work at their fab. He heard their boss saying, "Forget testing tricks: This one is the same as a 486!" His chance had now come. From their math microcode, He struck out one line as it went to download. And the Grinch watched with barely containable glee As the chips with their bugs shipped across land and sea. And each of those chips went to some happy buyer, Where some just played games, but most were for hire, Sending up spacecraft or buying up stocks, Or predicting the timing of quake aftershocks. Then the bug story broke! And the Grinch was alarmed. This news came too early! Too few had been harmed! But the Grinch soon calmed down, as the months marched on by, And the chip-making people continued to lie. "We fixed it!" they said, and now that was quite funny: You couldn't get fixed chips for love or for money. "It's really no problem," they added in chorus. "The errors are rare. Stop whining, you bore us." So everywhere, Coders were having to ask, "Just how does this chip do its float-divide task?" Internals that they had been told to ignore, Now had to be studied in blood and in gore. The leading bit patterns whose answers were wrong, And whether the errors were carried along, All had to be thoroughly well understood So the Coders could know if their answers were good. And the Grinch went off happy. He knew that they'd learned That quality output still had to be earned. Beyond "Merry Christmas," they'd learned something greater: "If you don't test it now, you'll just debug it later."
