Apart from one crash, the only problem I've encountered so far, is that the sound is suffering from slight hitching. It appears to be random, and not related to the game's graphical performance. My sound card is an old Sound Blaster Live 1024, so that could be the problem. Also, it has happened, both with EAX on and EAX off. That last sentence reminded me of Karate Kid.

This is completely off-topic, but as the artists seem to check this thread, I'd just like to say that, from what I've seen, I'm really pleased with NWN2 art direction.

I just got the game and I'm very surprised. I haven't updated anything yet, and I just started it up to check on the game's performance, and apparently it runs brilliantly with everything maxed(and I mean everything) at 1024x768 in the first room of the tutorial. I'm amazed.

This is reminding me of Star Ocean, where you could increase and decrease the affinity between your party members, and the state of the friendship between them actually affected the way they performed in battle.

In that case, I'll venture a guess and say you'll be fine. CRTs are the way for smart, poor gamers to go.

I'm going to play my game with such a card, so I hope it runs NWN2 well. What monitor do you use?

As you're on a budget, I think you should go for it. It will help your performance with other games, too. Although, I'm not very familiar with ATI cards and there are other X1600 models that may or may not be better than the pro version. Your motherboard has a PCI-Express slot, right? It would be better. Just don't expect to run NWN2 with everything on. By the way, before buying anything, have you tried do disable shadows and water detail? Edit: For someone on a budget, I'd say that's a pretty good choice, actually.
