  1. This is reminding me of Star Ocean, where you could increase and decrease the affinity between your party members, and the state of the friendship between them actually affected the way they performed in battle.
  2. Long live Rutger Hauer!
  3. http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/column_index.php?story=8470 NWN2 is a bestseller on Amazon.
  4. When are those top ten sales charts for the US released next?
  5. See?
  6. The best JRPG romance I've seen was in Xenogears. It was ok. No options, as far as I can remember, though.
  7. Whiny posters.
  8. Not shocked, happy.
  9. Ei kiitt
  10. I made my first post on Bioware's forums, a few minutes ago. It was spam.
  11. Hoth is hawt!!!
  12. In that case, I'll venture a guess and say you'll be fine. CRTs are the way for smart, poor gamers to go.
  13. I'm going to play my game with such a card, so I hope it runs NWN2 well. What monitor do you use?
  14. Just to make sure you haven't missed my edit: I was taking a look at the other options from that site, and that card does seem to be the best budgety choice.
  15. As you're on a budget, I think you should go for it. It will help your performance with other games, too. Although, I'm not very familiar with ATI cards and there are other X1600 models that may or may not be better than the pro version. Your motherboard has a PCI-Express slot, right? Edit: I was taking a look at the other options from that site, and that card does seem to be the best budgety choice.
  16. It would be better. Just don't expect to run NWN2 with everything on. By the way, before buying anything, have you tried do disable shadows and water detail? Edit: For someone on a budget, I'd say that's a pretty good choice, actually.
  17. You need a new graphics card. Yours is pretty awful.
  18. NWN2 is apparently selling very well. http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewt...08206&forum=109 Can I get a (w00t) ?
  19. Also, the way romance development in BG2, depended on how long you had been playing the game, and where your characters were at any given time, worked a lot better than just making the development dependent on what level you were on.
  20. It seems to me that that stems from a design policy rather than the writing itself. Perhaps developers should approach romances more as a secret side quest, rather than a main feature of RPGs. With this in mind, romances should be made easier to screw up (you say the wrong thing, and you're done), and also, the PC should choose who he/she wants to romance. This should make things seem a little bit more open-ended and not as scripted as they usually are. The problem with this approach is, of course that a lot of development time/money is spent on something that in the end, won't be experienced by most players of the game.
  21. @Josh: Do you think the writing for CRPGs' romances is worse than everything else that's written for CRPGs?
  22. I just saw Sweet November on TV. It's like Love Story only infinitely worse. I felt like screaming "DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!" at the TV while the movie was on.
  23. Have you ever seen "Tru Calling"? It's so bad that anyone involved with it should die a long slow death. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364817/ And that's an awful picture.
  24. I hate Dushku with a passion.
  25. Have you ever seen Cat's Meow? She's most impressive in that. And likeable, too.
