  1. Quick question and sorry if this info can be found in plain sight, however I was wondering if Pillars of Eternity will also be making the jump to Unity 5? From links dated to October of last year, it seems like they were looking at the possibility, but weren't sure/ Has there been any update? Wanted to check after the news from Wasteland 2.
  2. I'm having a little bit of a hard time with the control scheme as far as nailing the landing. Not that its a terrible control scheme, just takes a little getting used to I'm sure. But also putting in some time with Helldivers which has been pretty fun so far, even with random groups. Intense gameplay for sure.
  3. Right now I just started up a 4 player group of Borderlands 2 which is great because that game with more people, is so much more fun to play, however I am awaiting the release on the PS4 because I like the couch co-op aspect of the game and that's where I had the most fun with a group of people back when it was first released. Bloodborne on the otherhand looks fun for those who enjoys those games, but after trying to get into Demon Souls, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2, I've just finally released that they're not my type of games, but to each their own and hope you enjoy. Also playing Darkest Dungeon which has been great for atmosphere and pulling my hair out as my heroes gain more stress lol. Also, a little of Dying Light on the PS4 which has been surprisingly awesome so far. Hopefully this puts Techland in a new level of quality when it comes to their future releases.
  4. I completely agree with the combat. Not that I wanted the "win" button from the previous games but whenever there was 3 or Morris around me, I would run. It was either that or die and spend 2-3 minutes waiting to load from the last save point. The worst combat in an AC game yet.
  5. Same here.
  6. From what I understand, a different dev team is making DI2. Techland is making Dying Light because they didn't like the direction that the publisher wanted them to take with their second game.
  7. Has there been any word on the progress or potential release date of Pillars of Eternity? I don't believe I've heard much in the past few weeks as far as updates and wanted to see if anyone here has heard anything?
  8. If you kill Cory fast enough, the game glitched, you don't get cutscenes, and ypu stuck. Clearly THEY DIDN"T TEST THE GAME, they never calculate the mechanic, they sell you broken product (same like DA:O, they never test DA:O) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMyJUBkFXe4&list=UU_KF7ZvbebsP1snJe6JUBaw I just to want confirm and sorry to everyone for asking but you're still not actually playing the game right? If you dislike it so much, why are you spending so much time watching videos and creating posts about it. I wish I had the time you had just to play the game more let alone have extra time to go to all the trouble you are trying to restate your dislike over and over. Yes, it still has bugs however they will more than likely be patched out over time. They obviously have a testing group for the game and patches but let's remember the game is huge. Even Baldurs Gate 2 had a good amount of bugs upon release even though it has turned out to be a great game.
  9. Yeah, with Far Cry 4 and AC, those were the only games I was really looking at if they were going to be on sale, however it's fine that they weren't due to still playing through DA:I and GTAV. Oh well, later on I'm sure.
  10. We get it, you're not a big fan of the game nor the company. Please move on. You've made your point and have now brought out spoilers. Honestly just move past it and play and talk about a game you do like.
  11. I will agree. On the PS4, the game looks superb as compared to last generation and I'm really enjoying the first person mode. PC players with great computers should be looking forward to this game looking even better come January.
  12. If I buy the Deluxe Edition from the Playstation network, how do you suppose I get the soundtrack?
  13. That's cool. Think I'll end up going with the regular edition instead of the deluxe. The extra stuff just doesn't seem like that much of a pull. Like you had said previously, it's not like Origins, where there was a hole companion attached to the deluxe edition and since I'm getting the digital version, the soundtrack probably won't matter and the mounts don't seem like too big of a deal for the $10. Anyone else for the PS4 feel the same or am I the odd man out?
  14. I'm getting it for the ps4 as well. Maybe sometime group up to see how the multiplayer is.
  15. Do you guys think the deluxe edition is worth it? Also, do you believe the deluxe edition will be available after release? Probably going to get it for the PS4 after release to read some reviews and due to getting GTA V due to being a game I can play easier right now. What I mean is I won't have long periods to time to play each time I play until after the holidays and GTA you can get in and get out without worrying too much about story. Lol
  16. How are your pc specs?
  17. Got a question for you guys. I can't decide on whether to get the pc or PS4 edition of the game. I have an AMD Phenom X4 at 3.2 ghz, with a 8 GB of ram, and a Nvidia 750 ti. While the graphic card and ram are fine enough, and the CPU easily covers the minimum requirements, it's quite far from the recommended. I played Origins on the pc, but not DA 2, so no worrying about continuation of choices, if they look at previous saves. From gameplay perspective, both seem to control decent enough and they both look pretty similar as well graphically speaking. What would you guys go towards in this circumstance? I understand this is typically a pc forum, but I know I also read some people are also getting the PS4 version.
  18. Started up my own squad on Legend of Grimrock 2, however decided to go a more traditional route with a fighter, barbarian, rogue, and battle mage, no farmers here lol. Other than that, making my way through Shadow of Mordor. Icthing to get back to Divinity for a bit, but wanting more time with a longer stretch for that game. Not a 15 minute here and there kind of game, but enjoying them all the same!
  19. Am I missing something, because I felt in the beta and alpha of the game, getting into groups was much easier, but getting through 3/4 of the moon missions now, I've only played one area with a friend which I had to invite from the get go. I will say one of the biggest faults of this game is the setup of the multiplayer component and how hard it can be to play with others on story missions.
  20. I have to say after playing Wasteland 2 a bunch, seeing the gameplay of Torment and watching some beta footage of Pillars of Eternity, I really am enjoying what these developers are able to offer with Unity and hope that we see more games in the same vein as these titles.
  21. I've got more than 200 hours clocked in WL2 and feel I understand the mechanics pretty well. Here are a few things to consider: Having a highly skilled party is going to eliminate A LOT of headache, and maximizing skills can be accomplished via INT (bump to 4 for 3 survival points per level, 8 for 4 and 10 for 5, below that you get only 2). But you can't just expect to throw all of your points into INT and expect to do well. In combat, what is most important is your character's Combat Initiative (CI) followed by Action Points (AP). A character with high CI might be able to take 3 turns in the time that a character with low CI can. It doesn't matter how skillful your character is if they don't get to fire their weapon. Non combat skills that you are going to want to have, in a very, very general order: Leadership (give to a high CHA character for a large radius of influence, increase hit chance for all party members, and decreases chance of your "hirelings" going rogue. When you hirelings go rogue, they are generally going to F up your tactics, so you don't want that to happen. Field medic (XP) - this is your heal ability, give this to at least one of your team members. You can't use this ability to help a dying character (i.e. knocked below 0 CON), so you also need: Surgeon (XP) - when a character is "dying", bleeding out, diseased, etc. etc. this is where you need a surgeon. Lock Picking (XP) - there are LOTS of locks Safe cracking (XP) - there are LOTS of safes with good items, ammo, and other stuff that you're not going to want to have to pass up Awareness - Allows you to see traps, find hidden stashes buried in the ground, and increases your sight radius. It also allows you to notice things about people that you otherwise might not. Very important skill Demolitions (XP) - basically this is a disable trap/landmine skill, and there are A LOT of traps in the game now. Computer science (XP) - This comes in handy a lot. There are plenty of electronic locks (doors/safes), and you are occasionally going to find computers that you can hack into to make your life easier. In some cases this skill is needed to complete a quest with a positive result. The Ass Trio - Smart Ass, Kiss Ass, Hard Ass (Group XP) - Opens up options in dialogue that you wouldn't otherwise have. Sometimes this means you can get an item donated to the group, convince a leader to go along with your idea, or just generally get more information out of someone. Useful to have all 3 in your party. The whole group gets XP when used. Outdoorsmen (XP) - Allows you to avoid random encounters encounters on the world map, as well as solve certain problems that require outdoorsy knowledge. Alarm disarm (XP) - there are a lot more alarms in the game now. Not nearly as many as traps, but you're going to want to have someone who can help you bypass them. Weaponsmithing (XP) - trick out your weapons with mods that make them far more effective. Mechanical repair (XP) - there aren't a ton of direct uses for this, but it comes in handy several times. I wouldn't prioritize this immediately, but make sure to throw at least a few points into it. Also it was recently "buffed" to allow a chance to repair safes/doors/etc if your "infiltrator" character critically fails in their attempt to get past them. Otherwise, a critical failure means that you've lost your opportunity. Toaster repair (XP) - fairly useful. Generally toasters allow you to find a unique item, that if you give it to the right person you will get a reward. Don't sell the items you get from a toaster. Animal whisperer (XP) - Not essential, but can provide some decent stat bonuses to a character. A goat, for example, gives "devil eyes", +1 to awareness. Barter - not super critical. Maybe give a few points to a hireling to get better buy/sell rates with vendors. Unless indicated, having a single character assigned to each skill is sufficient. Skills indicated with (XP) give your character XP when used (just the character that used it) I should also point out that my observations are based on playing the Arizona portion of the game. I haven't gotten to CA yet, but I imagine a well built party is going to do well there also. I generally try to have 2 smarties (10 INT), 1 ranged god, usually a sniper (high coord/agil), and one melee god (high str/agil/speed). Higher strength also means more carrying capacity, which unlike in PoE is a big deal in WL2. As previously mentioned, spread out your combat skills, so you can spread out who uses what ammo. A few comments here: Having a sniper is essential, but their weapons are only effective at long range. They have excellent range, but are slow to fire. Choose either a pistol or a melee weapon as a secondary. Assault rifles are the most "general purpose" weapons there are. A couple of guys with this weapon is a good idea. It has great range (not as good a sniper rifle, obviously) and is effective up until point blank range. More advanced assault rifles have different firing modes, making them even more tactically advantageous. SMGs - An effective short-ish range weapon. Not essential to have, but I always try to have one person spec'd in this. Energy weapons - Effective only against high armored targets, like synths and a few others. I wouldn't start with this skill, but you're going to want one or two of your squad to add it later. Handguns - A great short ranged weapon that can fire quickly. Usually not a good choice for a primary weapon, but it's an excellent backup weapon. Heavy weapons - Includes machine guns, RPGs, and grenade type weapons. It's a fairly expensive category, so I would only assign as a secondary weapon skill. Best to give to one of your melee characters IMO, since the weapons are very heavy. A high STR character can handle the weight though. Not an essential category, since you can still lob grenades without it. I usually give it to one particular hireling you can meet in the game and add to your squad. Shotguns - can be your best or worst friend depending on the situation. They damage an area, so as long as that area doesn't include friendlies, not a bad way to go. Also has low armor penetration. Blunt weapons - a great weapon for your main melee tank character, with a devastating critical hit. Bladed weapons - less overall damage than blunt weapons, and less critical damage, but higher chance to critically hit. Brawling - A very quick way to attack, but with low armor piercing, so best against low armor targets. Remember, you start with 4 characters that you can pre-generate, but you can add up to 3 more for a total party size of 7. You can use your hirelings to cover some of the skills. Some NPCs wont' join if your party's overall CHA is too low. Also, remember that CHA grants a bonus to non-combat XP, so it's good to have some CHA for your characters who will do a lot of the non-combat skills. For your leader/face character, shoot for 8 - 10 CHA. That should at least get you started.... Hate to quote the entire thing but awesome post. I put 3 hours into last night and was thinking of starting over knowing more mechanics for creating characters and I'll definitely be taking this all in context! Thanks!
  22. Can't you choose? I will have to check this myself, but am to lazy to do it now. Steam and GoG are both options. PS: There's a new stretch goal for an expanded section of the Bloom. Check out update #32. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/torment-tides-of-numenera/posts/988605 Are you sure you have both options because looking deeper and pushing the "more info" button next to the pledge, it says both copies and says DRM Free copies which doesn't technically sound like an option but wanted to ask if anyone else had tried this option or can confirm. Alright, just went deeper still in the selection process and it does appear your choice to digital retailer, so that sums that up. Thanks, gonna go pledge now!

  24. Random question but if I pledge on the Torment website for the packaged deal of Wasteland 2 and Torment. Will they give me Steam keys or DRM free copies because I would rather have a steam key to keep it easy?
  25. Did you have to sign up somewhere? Would love to try it out.
