I spent 17 pounds on bg and tosc, quite a ****load of money(32 dollars), specially for such an old game, but that was the cheapest offer and as I said i was really desperate. Especially for bg, since my old cds back home are probably completely ****ed up. I dont think that amazon uk offers any guarantees of any sort. As for the feedback, whats the point? Isnt it all fake anyway? Almost all the sellers have 99 or 97 percent positive reviews or something.

Yeah, but I bought it from a seller, not Amazon itself. Im keepin my fingers crossed.
-
Just ordered bg plus tosc..... hope it arrives alright.

Also, does anyone have any idea about buying from the US? Its a lot cheaper if I get it from there, but how much does delivery cost, and how long does it take?????

Im living in the Isle of Man, one of the ****tiest places in the world, and I cannot find any of my favourite classic rpgs here. Thus, Ive decided to buy them online. I want brand NEW copies of the rpgs. What website can I buy them from? I was thinking of buying them from Amazon.com, but I dont know which sellers are good to buy from.... Any recommendations? Any advice for me? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, as I am DESPERATE for copies of the following games: Baldurs Gate Tales of the Sword Coast Baldurs Gate 2 Throne of Bhaal Planescape Torment Icewind Dale Heart of Winter Fallout Fallout 2 Its quite obvious that games such as these are never going to be released again, so I badly need to buy the copies while they are still available.....

Thanks a lot everyone, but I still see no significant mods for the game. The changes made by them such as adding a merchant or a few subraces is very minor. I was looking for something that would add more quests, npcs etc. I think that the lack of mods for the game is quite sad. I was hoping to have a different experience while replaying it.

im replaying icewind dale 2, and I was wondering if there are any good mods for it? ones that add new content? Im suprirised at the lack of icewind dale 2 mods, specially since it has the most advanced version of the ie.

Best 'fall to the Dark Side' in a game?
roshan replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Computer and Console
Although it didnt take place during the game and was part of the backstory, Trias from PST was quite well done also. -
I have constantly wondered about the possibility of my rpg cds being corrupted...

BIS had lots of cancelled games - torn, stonekeep 2, baldurs gate the black hound and finally fallout 3. -
Unreal Engine 3 report, going to see alot of it so
roshan replied to kumquatq3's topic in Computer and Console
Unreal tournament is one of the greatest games ever made. -
The real reason is probably to cut costs. A bunch of bitchy fans dont matter to Obsidian.

Sorry Monte Carlo, but combat in SOA was a disgrace to rpg combat. The following are my accusations against it: 1. It was too easy. A majority of the locations such as the underwater area and the dearnise keep were merely straightforward hack and slash missions, where the only strategy required was drinking a few healing potions every now and then. 2. The few battles that were difficult were not genuinely difficult, as they did not require you to use any strategies in the battle itself. These battles, such as the one with kangaxx the lich relied on cheesy tactics which could not realistically be countered in the midst of battle such as enemies who would instantly kill your party members. These retarded battles merely made people reload and waste their time instead of presenting genuine tactical encounters that they could figure out how to handle. In these battles, combat simply became a trial and error reload festival, which was NOT enjoyable at all. 3. It was boring and repetitive. You had to fight the same enemies over and over again. I remember when I played TOB and I had to fight a mage who casted timestop followed by 3 symbol of something spells 5 times in a row. And each and every time, all I had to do was wait for the timestop to run out, cast breach on the mage, and then kill it with one of my fighters. What the hell was the point of making me fight the same ridiculously easy battle again and again? 4. The bosses and main bad guys were incredibly easy to beat - once you discovered the ONE and ONLY strategy needed to beat all the bosses and mages in the game: cast breach. Heck, after I casted breach on demogorgon, my 2 or 3 fighters hacked him to bits in seconds. It was such a short battle it wasnt even funny. And this one and only strategy needed to win all the battles of the game QUICKLY gets repetitive. See any boss or mage? Cast breach, hack to bits. Another boss! Cast breach, hack to bits. Oh, theres a mage in the corner! Cast breach, hack to bits. Theres another one! Cast breach, hack to bits. 5. The battles did not require any tactical maneuvering or anything like that. I remember positioning my fighters in choke points in iwd to fight enemies and flanking enemies in bg1, or taking advantage of running in pst. Baldurs gate 2 required none of this, it was just hack and slash and casting breach every now and then. Bg2 has one of the worst combat systems in any rpg released recently, it is just slightly better than the combat in arcanum.

No. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL
-
really? i dont know if i agree with that. imo, baldurs gate combat was a)more difficult and b)more of it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> a. baldurs gate had ridiculouslly easy combat. Torment had a lot of tough battles for example the thugs behind the secret door and some of the battles underground. b. the quantity of combat has absolutely nothing to do with the quality, you are bringing up a completely irrelevant point.

my top ten games/series: planescape torment fallout 1 and 2 baldurs gate icewind dale parasite eve megaman legends 1 and 2 castlevania symphony of the night unreal tournament grand theft auto 3 and above jet moto 3 This is based on what i just recalled, it is not very well thought out.
-
Why do people unnecesarily criticize planescape torments combat? It was roughly at the same level as baldurs gate 1 and icewind dale 2, and it was much better than the combat in baldurs gate 2, which had the worst combat of the ie games. The only ie game which surpassed pst combat wise was icewind dale 1, which imo has the best combat of any recent rpg.

Servant of eru, you just need to click on a door in selection mode to open it. Thats 2 clicks at the most.
-
Fallout had a very good interface. You could do almost all the main tasks using just your mouse. You can simply rightclick in order to change from selection, to movement to targeting. You pretty much never had to move your mouse down to the interface below, save for accessing the alternate screens such as inventory, character screen or options. I think the fallout interface was excellent. With a few tweaks, it would probably have been possible to make every action doable with just a few clicks of the mouse. For example, clicking on your own character while on on selection mode could have brought up the options for accessing the inventory and character screens. Fallouts interface was certainly a lot better than the interface of the baldurs gate/icewind dale series, where you constantly had to press buttons at the bottom, left and right of the screen to do any task and had to waste a ****load of time moving the mouse from one button at one end to another. It was also a lot better than the interface of torment/icewind dale, which were a step above the standard ie interface. And it was incredibly better than the completely ridiculous toee interface which requires you to click and move your cursor to around five or more buttons just to cast one spell.

What Im saying is that TOEEs combat didnt prove that turn based combat could be fun because it wasnt fun. Im not overly concerned about the reasons why, although I admit that it was more due to the game and its level design rather than the combat system itself.
-
TOEEs turn based combat was a disgrace, it was ridiculously easy. Also, it was incredibly repeptitive. For the first 3 levels of the temple you basically just fought orcs.
