It was bizarre how the game completely ignored the wound from the beginning. Wolverine regeneration ftw Yes, the focus is way too much on graphic killing for my tastes. In the new Tomb Raider everything wants to kill you and you need to kill everything else, either because its an obstacle or for xp and salvage.

Unlike you some of us here live in countries where the so called "color revolutions" happened. Unlike you, we witnessed these "protests" first hand. The only thing that's spontaneous is the desire of the people to climb out of economic misery, everything else is paid for and organized from a foreign country for their domestic pawns. We know who the people who organized them are and what their agenda was and how they did it, so please, don't insult our intelligence.

is odd, but we have never played a tomb raider game. am thinking the avatar turned us off 'cause it seemed too ridiculous... unnecessary pandering. am gonna concede the inherent hypocrisy as we did play games with "comic book type badass" toons who, male or female, were drawn no less provocative or silly. am actually not certain why superheroes is ok for us, but final fantasy Giant swords, lineage 2 warrior girls in stiletto heels, and lara croft b00b avatar sets our teeth on edge. that being said, is not as if we is ok with all superhero stuff-- is still a fuzzy line which we has difficulty crossing. odd. HA! Good Fun! While there was a certain amount of pandering to gamers in the old TR games, its the sort of thing that dissolves when you actually start playing. The focus is on platforming and fighting, there is little story apart from cut-scenes and little characterization as far as Lara is concerned. The point is, you literally stop seeing her while you play because your attention is elsewhere. That said, the old games are borderline unplayable now due to how blocky the graphics are and terrible controls.

The Kiev junta has sent what units they could scrounge up, there are about ten people dead already. Civil war is just around the corner. No real Russian response so far but I find it hard to believe they're just going to stand by and do nothing.

On topic: I'm playing Tomb Raider. (the reboot) I'm sort of torn over this game. The audio-visual experience is extremely polished, the story delivery is very fluid and natural, the controls are the best they've ever been in a TR game... but the game commits every "modern game sin" one could think of. Obnoxious QTE, linear and railroading the player excessively, grimdark obsession with violence , a lot of pointless scavenger hunts to bump game length... even "evil russians" of all things... to top it all some token feminism thrown in for good measure. The old Lara was essentially a comic book type badass character. You could, in a comic book way, believe she could do back flips and fire dual pistols on a tiger at the same time. The new Lara is a "vulnerable girl" "oh its so hard, I'm falling apart"...traumatized murder machine. What she supposedly is and what she does doesn't really connect. If they lighten up the tone and bring back the focus on exploration of exotic locales instead of playing "lord of the flies" it would be great.

I enjoyed all the wandering through the maps. But I was 13 and it was my first RPG.

Voted. I'd bet that it would have won anyway. Those games were always more popular than the EE series. Edit: I just saw that the votes are public. Its closer than I would have thought.

Actually the whatever by Flame game (forgot the title) looks more like a copy of Dark Souls than anything else.

I just got Endless space. I took a minute or two on the main screen looking for a campaign or story missions. Realizing there is none, I tried it out a bit. Seems polished enough, the UI isn't bad. Usually in these games its a pain in the ass to learn how to play it, but this looks quite straightforward. Alas its still lacking the draw of a game with a story. I think its good mod material, seeing as how you can make your own factions.

I totally gave up on BS: Infinite. Its my opinion that its a very mediocre shooter covered up with high production values.

Please, please, point out to us uneducated peons the general legal principle that allows for the dismissal of the HoS outside of the legal procedures outlined to that end in the Constitution or ancillary legislation. "Bailing on the people" is not a reason or motive that you will find anywhere in the Ukrainian Constitution, among other things, because it makes no sense. The ****ing Head of State doesn't "bail" on the people unless the "people" (read: fascist militias) are out for his blood, which is exactly what happened. This is the very definition of a coup. The President does not "lose constitutional legitimacy" at your leisure, he is removed from office after he has been impeached, declared medically incompetent, or dies only. So what are these "higher provisions" you speak of? Its not a matter of creative interpretation but the letter of the law. There is no lawful way for armed men to overthrow the president or pressure the parliament into impeaching him. Its irregular, outside of the law and therefore illegitimate.

I skipped it back then. Played a bit of HOMM but it didn't hold me. Actually I never went further than Alpha Centauri in 4X games. I tried a few others out, even played them for a day or two but ultimately gave up before becoming proficient. I wanted to, but couldn't. Strategy games without a strong setting to back them up don't hold my interest for long. I'm more interested in immersing myself in the world than mastering the numbers. Which is why I suck at strategy games.

I couldn't play it. Graphics are too kitschy and busy and the lore is boring.

Yanukovich bailed because he realized they were going to imprison him or kill him, even though he effectively gave up power. His car was even shot at. The "inability to exercise duties as president" clause in a constitution serves if a president is to fall ill or suffer another mishap as a way to end his term in office earlier than normal but to stay within the law. It does not serve as a justification to remove a president that is healthy and sound of mind from power and cannot be voted in by a parliament besieged and threatened by armed men. That you think Yanukovich is Putin's lapdog shows how much you know of internal Ukrainian politics. Putin intensely dislikes Yanukovich precisely because he's playing his own game and is thoroughly unreliable and treacherous. Yanukovich ran there because there was no where else to run and because only the Russians still had any use for him as a tool to bring Kiev's legitimacy in question. So long as he is alive its much easier to claim that Ukraine has a legitimate president and that the coup imposed government isn't legitimate. As for the evidence, read up on it. I'm not here to educate you, even though I've just given you a lesson in constitutional law and Ukrainian-Russian relations. Consider it pro bono.

And in latest news: Kiev has authorized the use of special forces against the demonstrators. This is the real deal now, damned if you do, damned if you don't for the Russians.

That's a shame, I just remembered it the other day and thought they were probably working on it. I did wonder how they were going to make the game work. To make a credible vampire/werewolf/mage game you'd need enormous urban environments because these creatures are rare and a huge system to generate NPC's to make the town come alive, along with everything else. To me it always sounded a bit like over-reaching from a company whose primary MMO has far less content. It was my opinion at the time (and it still is) that its beyond the cost effectiveness of current technology (if the game is to look any good).

I was weeping for the bullets wasted on NPC's I don't like.

It had an impact on me as well, there were a few quite emotional moments.

What Geman trained snipers, can't you even read the post before you comment? @Tagaziel: The Ukrainian "government" seized power in an illegitimate coup even though Yanukovich agreed to early elections (and other demands) and practically gave up. Yet they didn't accept that but took power by force (probably afraid of possible election results). If you take power by force you're fair game in international relations. That's how the game works. Legitimacy isn't found under a rock, its earned, internally and externally. For the Russians, the Kiev government is a non-entity and they're within their rights to do as they please. For the west, they're a new client state that they pledged to support, so now they're doing it...sorta.

Finished the Walking Dead season 1. SPOILER SPOILER I was sorry to see Lee go, he was such a likable main character. SPOILER I'm somewhat lost interest in pursuing the series further at this point because of that. Bioware should take note of how to write good dialog. Unlike ME when I picked a choice I could count on the character to say something appropriate. And there was always a response I could see myself making in a situation. That said, more then a few of the situations were contrived, but I guess the drama has to come from somewhere. Overall, its easily better than the (agonizingly boring) TV show and I enjoyed it a lot most of the time.
