Or better yet, if they created "dead end" paths...
basically start with a subtle Light/Dark choice.... then lead you down to one or the other as the big choice in the conversation... with no option to flip flop back to the other path.

It's not happening.
One of the devs (Akari I believe) posted that they were going to try that originally, but ditched the idea.
I can't remember why, but it was a good reason as I recall.
That's why they have the conversation thing I believe.
Not in the good ol' days
They had a "clan" and a "champion" and a really wicked ancestral item
They were "retired" from the "modern" game, and removed storywise (more or less) to thin out the number of "clans"
Same with the Brotherhood of Shinsei (the monk "clan")
Imperial put out:

From there they kinda went wild adding new strongholds for a while (threw the Hidden Emperor line until the end of Spirit War)
After that I really don't know what's been added or removed.

I'm well aware of the Nezumi, the Naga and of course the "shadowlands horde", I'm just not overly fond of any of them... though I make allowances for the Naga. B)
