  1. There weren't really any alien rebels untill the final movie. And just because an imperial officer calls chewie a "thing" doesn't mean that he's racist, I know at least one of the main characters calls him a "walking carpet" on several occasions. As far as the actual movies go, it's hard to find any evidence that the imperials are racist.
  2. I liked how it worked in planescape, where you could beat the game around 15 or 16, or you could hang around spawning areas, killing creatures into infiniti and become level 50ish. That keeps both powergamers and people who prefer realistic level characters happy.
  3. Single. In the movies, you only ever see one guy with a double and one seen where someone uses two. Besides that, everyone just uses single lightsabers, and the other two are supposed to be rare exceptions. Besides, I always feel more badass killing someone with one saber when they have two.
  4. Yeah it bugged me so much that before I'd talk to important people I'd de-equip all my weapons. Carth always looked dumb flying the ebon hawk while waving two blasters around.
  5. I hope he has a history and some elements to his character. There doesn't have to be a big twist involving my character, but I'd like for him to have some issues to deal with throughout the game. I get bored with generic adventurer type characters.
  6. I'd like to see a Yoda Species guy on the dark side. They seem to be steriotyped to be really light.
  7. As far as KOTOR 1 goes, everyone ought to play light side because the sith are so moronic. This is sort of like the thread about them always underestimating you.(These points aren't really intended to be taken seriously) 1) All of them seriously need a psychaitrist, as they each think that they are strong enough to kill three obviously superior jedi. 2) Malak is a total dumbass. One example is why he sends Calo Nord after you? If you could beat him before you were a jedi, what were his odds supposed to be after you'd become a jedi? 3) Revan's ship really sucked if Malak could nearly kill someone on its bridge in a surprise attack before anyone knew what was happening. Aren't Star Wars ships supposed to have like sheilds and armor and stuff? 4) At least Palpatine and Vader built their own Death Star. Revan and Malak didn't build the Star Forge, they just found it lying around waiting for them. 5) Malak knew EXACTLY where you were going to be at every star map? But does he blow those planets up? Does he reinforce those planets with legions of sith minions? No, out of the two planets that he blew up, neither of them were ones that could have hidden his super factory forever. And he only sends two incompetent guys after you. 6) Malak knows that you are out there, he knows you're going to get to Korriban eventually, he's sending guys after you, and he knows who you are once Calo tells him when you leave dantooine. You'd think he would give your description to his minions on Korriban, since the whole planet works for him, and tell them not to let you in. 7) Out of all the people Revan could have picked for an apprentice, he picked the dumbest idiot in the entire universe. The only worse apprentice he could have found would have been Julhani. The Leviathan pulls you out of hyperspace, why don't they have the presence of mind to do the same thing when you try and get back into hyperspace? 9) If Malak had fought you in the room at the same time as the regenerating droids, you probably would have lost. But that would be asking too much of him.
  8. Yup. Some of the non jedi in star wars were more greyish like han but once you become a jedi you definitely choose a side.
  9. I sort of liked that about Malak. When peopel are crafty and evil I tend to have some respect for them at least, but when they are just stupid brutish idiots who blow up entire planets to try and kill one person and that one person still manages to escape, it makes them more dislikable.
  10. Well the morality of KOTOR (and of star wars in general) was not exactly subtle. Responses are either blatantly light side (Keep your reward, you need it), middle of the road (why thank you), or blatantly dark side (Give me more or i'll kill you). Even if they were mixed up in the dialogue box, it wouldn't exactly be difficult to figure out which is good and which is bad.
  11. It didn't really surprise me that most of the run of the mill sith were brainless idiot thugs. I just wish the more top level ones like the ones in the temple who recognized you had been smarter. What also annoyed me was that the only way the game let you be evil was by being a brainless idiot thug. A good villian like Darth Vader wouldnt have walked around randomly force lightninging people and killing them for 50 credits and stuff like that.
  12. I think the potential market for a PS:T sequel would be much larger than the original one was. The game has become a cult classic and many have gone out and bought the game long after it went out of print. In fact, it's hard to find it on ebay for under $50 nowadays. However, I think it would be a hard game to reproduce and it would be a better idea for obsidian to try and make a game that is in the tradition of PS:T rather than a sequel.
  13. Sometimes too many choices are a bad thing. Making you play as a human allowed your character to be shown in cutscenes and developed more. In Planescape, we had a set sex, race, and (sort of) name. That allowed for better character development and a deeper experience. I can't think of any real gameplay difference between playing as a human vs a twilek, and if you bring in more exotic races like wookies, you are talking about speaking different languages and other similar obstacles.
  14. At this point it is probably too late to do any big changes to the game itself, but a better manual would be very nice. For instance, in the last game, it is never stated that lightsaber fighting adds either your strength bonus or your dexterity bonus to the to hit roll, depending on which is higher. This may seem like a little point but makes a difference when you are building your character, which occurs before you've seen anything but the manual.
