  1. CastleBravo, You're making a valid point, the one I can agree with. I would only wish you not to indulge yourself in such infantile arguing with someone who clearly have nothing better to do. Ignoring is the best argument you can make against such people.
  2. Umm, I thought Blade Too was meant to be a comedy... Or at least a parody of some sort... Seriously, I did. No kidding. If you watch it as a comedy/parody than it all makes sense and even becomes enjoyable to watch... But it should really be watched with a bunch of friends and a fridge of beer, commenting and laughing all along. I stopped taking Hollywood seriously when... well, I can't remember whether I've ever been taking it seriously, actually... So naah, don't bash that movie. They simply classified it wrong.
  3. Well, as far as I can see, some of those 'abilities' have already been developed by some individuals throughout the known human history. Tao, Buddhism, Chi-Kung... It all seems to revolve around very similar principles, very close to the image of the 'Force' of SW. And those teachings have existed for centuries. Of course, the 'Force' was really an exaggerated view of those teachings (and the aura of mystery surrounding them, created by the ignorant) for the purpose of creating a sci-fi saga. Yet I think there's something that exists, and that theory (or rather hypothesis) might well be right about some things.
  4. My sentiments, exactly... Although I do believe that the Force is portraid as 'limitless' in SW universe, only a very dedicated Jedi/Sith Master (like Yoda/Palpatine of the original trilogy) would be able to make it a truly powerful 'asset' in combat. In most to all other instances the Force would only be helpful, and grant a different tactical approach to a situation. But it definately wouldn't make the user all-powerful. The Force doesn't replace the need for skill and intelligence. Anyway, all these arguments we all bring here are mere speculation based on some scripted scenes from movies, and they'll in no way make those points absolutely valid once and for all. As for KotOR series, Revan of KotOR 1 and the PC in KotOR 2 are former Force-users with a good combat experience, so that'd be of no surprise that even without reuniting with the Force they'd be able to defeat the Force-users. Not to mention Malak, who wasn't even a Sith Lord, or even had much focus using the Force, which makes him as 'weak' as any other poor Sith Schmoe he sent your way. By the way, where did you see Mace use the Force in defeating Jango? All it took was Mace's skill with a Lightsaber (which doesn't involve the Force) and Jango's stupidity (in that particular movie-scripted case). [Edit]: I forgot to say that I'm in no way trying to make KotOR series a non-Jedi or even a non-Jedi-focussed game. All I'd like is an option to be able to play it non-Jedi as well as a Jedi, as I'd be playing both. That would really add up to the game's replay value for me.
  5. Well, we are talking about how that should be implemented in the games. Or is that beside the point, I wonder?... As for the movies, there weren't many such combat encounters between the two to really judge who'd win and who'd lose every time. So that's really up to fanbase's speculation, which is why I mentioned it.
  6. Easy. Mind-Affecting/Poison/Electricity-immunizing items are quite affordable in KotOR. And Treat Injury skill is your friend. Then just try raising your saving throws at every turn, and Malak's as good as dead. As for the whole concept of non-Forcers defeating the Force-users, why isn't it possible? Just because the fanbase says so? Or simply because Jedi is the thing you love about SW and can't concieve of the possibility of a Jedi being defeated by non-Jedi?
  7. You (your PC) could just say that he/she isn't ready to accept the Force back just yet, for example. So you could play non-Jedi no problem. But yes, I understand that it's not going to happen with KotOR 2. The game's prette much done, so making such changes isn't possible right now. Yet this is possible to do with KotOR 3/KotNR, if they come into existance (and there's little doubt they will). And this could've easily been done in KotOR 1. It would've only taken a few, very minor, changes to dialogues and a few events.
  8. Well, what's the problem with making KotOR 2 (or KotOR 3/KotNR, this late in KotOR 2's development) playable as both Jedi and non-Jedi? That'd only take a few minor storyline/gameplay changes that wouldn't be all that difficult to make. If you think KotOR series should be Jedi-only, - fine by me, you can wish whatever you want. But why do you want to limit the others, those who do not think that way? Is it some sort of fetish that gets you off? Sheesh... If you only want to play Jedi, - go ahead and don't play non-Jedi, nobody's forcing you to (no pun). Sorry for that rant, but that kind of attitude in people just ticks me off sometimes... <_<
  9. Look at the bright side, - we'll develop some potent mind-reading skills eventually.
  10. Why I'm on these forums? I guess I'd like to have some very minor influence on what I want to see in the upcoming game(s) by posting my opinions on its/their different aspects. Why I bought KotOR? I'm an RPG-addict, and I like Star Wars universe. So KotOR was a natural choice for me when I was looking for another time-waster (in a good sense).
  11. I'd just lub to have an option to play non-Jedi. I think that option would add more replay value to the game. Something that KotOR lacked as a factor. Even if the game's called Knights of the Old Republic, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to be one of those knights. Heh, I guess I'm just getting a little tired of all the Force-stuff. "Oooo, I can crush this guy's intestines with but a force of will! Oooo!..." Christ... I just want to finally role-play my characters, be it someone with the Force as an ally or a sly scoundrel using his wits and charms or a bounty-hunter'esque combatant, or something else entirely...
  12. You people just make me want to buy a digital camera all the more... Just to scare everyone here... I haven't shaved for ages... ^_^
  13. I'd prefer to have a choice of some new races instead of all those oh-so-beaten-to-death old ones like Twi'leks, as well as Zabraks, which are pretty much wanted only by Darth Maul wanna-be's. And Iridorians are, if I'm not mistaken, just like Mandaloreans, simply humans hailing from a different planet, so what's the point? SW EU base gives plenty of races to choose from. Come to think of it, I don't really see the reason why we can't have non-humanoid PC's, either...
  14. Not where I live, no. Can't say about the bigger cities, like Moscow or St. Petersburg, though. But who goes to Russia to live in the big cities, right? Right? I wouldn't, I can tell this much...
  15. Well, it was said that the Sith preferred to get close and personal with their enemies, so giving them AT-AT's would ruin that idea. Besides, what are we trying to make - a poor man's Empire?...
  16. 'JN, Not that I'm aware of. Even the dial-up deals aren't the best I've seen. There's ADSL, sure, but the prices are simply exorbitant, limiting it to corporate business. Heh, and I thought broadband deals were bad when I lived in Australia... ^_^
  17. Errantry, My mistake. I should've been more clear in my words. What I meant by the "Who start the wars" paragraph is that the people who live under those governments do not want wars, that the problem lies in those government systems themselves, not in 'human nature'. About "we", I was referring to the following sentance: "Humans -could- exist peacefully in this world; it is our choice that we don't." I wouldn't say that I choose not to live peacefully... But I guess I am being too nitpicky at that. ^_^
  18. Errantry, But do people even want those wars? No, it's their governments that start the wars, those "people sitting at the conference table", and it's the fools who follow them that are no less responsible for all the atrocities commited by their governments. US, Russia, Israel, and many others... How many more millions of lives will it take for those governments to satisfy their egos based on their cowardice and stupidity?... But by saying "we", who are you referring to? "I" or those people you know personally? "We" are all different, so it wouldn't be very wise to judge the whole specie by those of its 'representatives' that simply were recorded in history or noticed by SMI. I'd also question the claim of dimplomats being the most powerful people in existance, as their 'power' is but an illusion created by the fears in the minds of the fools. As is the case with any sort of power a person might seem to have. You could take it as whatever you wish. My only intention is to give some food for thought, - for you and other people... and, probably, for myself...
  19. Stuff. Different stuff, to be precise. Varying from post to post. That's what forums are for, right? Right.
  20. Those trash-talking punks with ****e for brains... I could stand one or two, just for some 'comic' relief in the game, but when nearly every sith/dark jedi opens his mouth and it starts to smell bad... Ugh, what a torture it was... Err, not that it was only your enemies' prerogative, mind you... *cough*Bastila*cough*
  21. I never would've expected such cowardice from someone claiming to be a Sith Lord. Even his braindead underlings had more courage (or was it the fact of them being braindead?... hmm...) to stand up and fight. I was soo expecting for him to scream "Mommy!" as he ran off after I handed his behind to him for the first time on the Star Forge... Not even killing Carth would've ever redeemed him in my eyes after that... Verdict: Malak's a total wuss not worth ever being mentioned in the Star Wars history.
  22. That's because with age cartilage is slowly replaced with solid bone in your body. So they try to slow that process to keep themselves more flexible. But the drugs they use for that disrupt their bodies' natural growth/maturation, that's why they look like freaks. And you don't even want to know what sorts and how many problems they have after their 'athletics' career has ended...
  23. I've only seen a few episodes of Farscape several years ago and it didn't impress me at all when I compared it to B5 (of which I've watched the whole thing). I suppose it just might not be my type, or the fact that I haven't seen enough of Farscape to appreciate it properly. Hmm, seeing as the show lives on, I suppose there must a demand out there. I guess I'll give it another chance.
  24. That was my point. They're all male, and being of that gender is as far as being male goes... But, I'll leave you to your deliberations of such imaginary 'qualities' as 'manliness' and 'masculanity'. ^_^
  25. Heh, that's something I also wouldn't mind to see. I loved Babylon 5 , and I can see how the KotOR's system could be implemented to make a nice game for it. Oooo, that'd be sooo nice... /drools all over the keyboard
