  1. Do you know what an indictment is? It's a formal government charge of felony CRIMINAL misconduct. In a federal case, law enforcement officials/prosecutors have to provide enough evidence for a grand jury to reasonably suspect that the subject of the investigation may have committed the specific crime he/she is to be charged with under the specific statute. In this case, the FBI doesn't believe there is even enough evidence to present to a grand jury. What Clinton did was wrong. That's not in doubt. But under legal standards, FBI investigators have found that there is no criminal felony misconduct and that such cases are handled administratively.
  2. FBI Director James Comey on Clinton email investigation: "Our judgement is no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case."

  4. Yeah, that's just silly talk. ...can't believe I missed this earlier. Seems fitting.
  5. OK. Sorry, but I can't help myself... https://twitter.com/KofieSpeaks/status/750018932929601536
  6. Weaker bench? Sure. But look at the new Nellieball DeathSquad: Curry Thompson Iguodala Durant Green My hot take predictions: 1) GSW will avg. more than 120pts a game 2) GSW will break the Pts Differential record 3) GSW will go 82-0 4) Westbrook will avg. > 40pts/game while shooting <40% FG%
  7. Yep, the bench will have to be rebuilt. Now, KD needs to be barricaded in his house for the next few days ala DeAndre Jordan. #JusticeForTheSeattleSupersonics
  8. Durant signing for 2 yrs $54.5 million w player option for second. Looks like that's a discount--not sure yet. But Curry is up after this year. Dubs already have him budgeted. Vegas already has the Warriors as 4/5 favorites for the chip. Cavs are 3/1.
  9. This is like Barry Bonds signing with the Giants back in January 1993.
  10. First of all the FBI has decided nothing of the sort. And they can't charge her. All they can do is recommend a charge to the United States Attorney General. Who just had a "secret" meeting with Bill Clinton which no reporters or photographers were allowed to see. Do you REALLY think they were talking about their grandchildren? Except that it's not how it works. The FBI (or any other Federal law enforcement agency seeking a federal indictment) works together with the prosecutor (U.S. Attorney's Office) who presents the evidence to a federal grand jury --which makes the judgment to indict based on whether there is enough evidence for the accused to have committed the crime. The Attorney General is not part of the process and it would not be ethical for her to be involved with the process, and she has EXPLICITLY stated that she will not be part of the process. That's contrary to everything I've read on the subject. She would decide if the case was presented to the grand jury to start with, no? Which begs the question from where and from whom have you read regarding the subject matter? Look, we have senior career FBI agents, analysts, other specialists, and their supervisors making sure the investigation is done by the book and as thorough as possible. To which they are working directly with the jurisdictional U.S. Attorney's office -- led by a career senior Assistant U.S. Attorney (if not the chief of the division), and a team of AUSA's and paralegals, and with support of the U.S. Attorney. The U.S. Attorney General is not going to overrule her U.S. Attorney. These guys and gals know what they're doing and don't mess around. If they believe there is enough evidence of criminal wrongdoing, they will present it to the Grand Jury seeking an indictment. Federal cases going to court have a 92% conviction rate. If they don't believe they have enough evidence, neither the FBI or the USAO will seek an indictment. Pure and simple. The AG is not part of the decision making process.
  11. I think Magnum P.I. ages much better than Airwolf and Knight Rider. Is MacGuyver not part of your pantheon?

Correct, I was referring to the US Attorney in general when I said the AG because that is like referring to the President on the actions of a cabinet member. Accurate but not precise. Well, considering the fact that you were stating that Attorney General Loretta Lynch is a member of the same party as Hillary Clinton, and that she would choose not to indict Secretary Clinton. You and others here are more than implying impropriety specifically on the part of the Clintons and the Attorney General. I was merely pointing out that the Attorney General is not part of the process to make an indictment.

  14. Went nine deep. Don't have any skin in the game but those penalties were nerve-wrecking.
  15. Black Holes and Revelations easily is one of the best rock albums of this millennium.
  16. On initial viewing, I thought Cersei/Gregor was planning standard-fare fantasy torture for the purpose of revenge and sadism. Of course, as far as torture goes...not sure which would be worst ---Torture by Bolton, or Torture by Mountain. The Boltons use torture for the purpose of breaking their subject and bending them to their will. The Mountain is a sadist who likes to inflict maximum suffering and pain. Did the Tickler find much hidden loot?
  17. OK, this one is pretty good.

  19. How the world outside of forums.obsidian.net views the U.S.A. Poland thinks Americans are tolerant. The Japanese think we're lazy. Americans are full of themselves. Someone should tell Oby that Putin is more popular than the Donald. Except in Poland. 20. Thanks for the info... I didn't know this existed. And in two days it will be waiting for me at the Covington Post Office. Nice! Gary Gianni is a fantastic artist. His Conan work was really impressive, and he did a great job depicting Westeros. Now, if only Martin and his publishers can commission Justin Sweet to do the same for ASOIAF...
  21. The Dunk and Egg stories were recently collected into a really nice illustrated hardcover edition last year. Definitely recommend picking it up. https://www.amazon.com/Knight-Seven-Kingdoms-Song-Fire/dp/0345533488/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1467293729&sr=1-1&keywords=knight+of+the+seven+kingdoms
  22. No ****, I was like, .. "Damn, Sawyer knows how to watch." If only it wasn't on a nato, sure they are okay for skinny wrist people but for me they always fit like crap and are uncomfortable. I prefer NATO's. To me, they're easier to clean, more secure, and soft on the wrist. Plus, I can attach a mini-compass to it.
