my favorite show. new episodes begin again next sunday, april 19 (as well as the new in plain sight episodes). i've always liked d'onofrio, however. he plays a perfect sherlock to eames' holmes. too bad they killed off his moriarty last year. taks

sorry for your loss. my dad's death (nov., 2007) did serious damage to me. we did have a fairly adversarial relationship, however, but he was still daddy to me. my mother has done well alone and i'm sure she'll continue to do well for quite some time. she'll be here next week in fact, for john's 6th birthday. taks

yes, we have that, too, but not in all states or regions. i'm not sure how you get that... overall, yes because the ultimate document is federal, but the US constitution actually leaves most of the power to the states themselves, particularly when it comes to issues such as this one. there's plenty of mob rule going on, and CA's ballot initiative is a perfect example. just because you may agree with (not that you do or don't) the "rule" doesn't make it any less of a tyrannical situation. the easy solution is to simply make it hard to change the state constitution. we tried in CO to make it harder than it already is, but the measure failed. as a result, we still end up with a dozen or so every election cycle, though most get shot down from what i understand. right or wrong is not my point, btw. i think ALL marriage laws are silly. taks

actually, the problem with easy ballot initiatives is that you end up with mob rules. since they can put things into the constitution very easily (that is the case in CA, correct?), it becomes a mess of whatever the current majority wants. ultimately, such an ability is as oppressive as any tyranny (tyranny of the majority). there is a distinct reason we are a republic, not a democracy. taks

are you kidding, krezack doesn't even know what hypocrisy is, let alone possess the ability to recognize it in others. i've already exposed both his and xard's nonsense for what it is. he just can't admit it to himself. taks

or fell woods, hopefully. taks

yup. btw, i've seen the screwed up ad hominem references referred to as the "ad hominem fallacy fallacy." taks

your reading comprehension is, to say the least, a bit weak. GD was not referring to your specific reference, he was referring to your rather simplistic general knowledge of the US, i.e., everything you "know" about the US is based on some left-wing blog viewpoint. you're in college, you should be better at understanding simple sentences. walsh: sorry man, but GD didn't snap because of his recent car accident. in fact, he didn't snap at all. krezack is a troll that thinks he knows more about the US than those of us that live here. in reality, he's nothing but a scared punk kid in college (and apparently suffering some severe issues with that) that thinks he has some worldly knowledge because he saw some michael moore films and read about the US on the internet. GD, like any rational thinker, simply points out moronic hypocrisy and narrow-minded view points masquerading as something enlightened. taks

it's the phone cops, man. they're gonna get you. taks

that's what i thought. your accident was like the day before you were supposed to start, correct? coolness that they are waiting, btw. taks

it was amazing and really gave the movie its only real "spooky" feel... yeah, i guess. i didn't even notice. boring was what i thought. i don't even remember it. taks

he's paying, i.e., he got the interest free loan for the year, not the government. in the long run, as long as you spend appropriately leading up to april 15, getting the loan from the government for a year is the better deal even if it doesn't feel like it when you're writing that check. of course, if it gets too large, they get mad at you and do bad things, the least of which is to make you pay the interest you were originally avoiding. though not as apparently painful, looking at my paycheck every two weeks to see what was stolen from me really is worse. there's no consolation in my retirement deductions given that i have lost all that i gained there, too. i guess that's one area i really have taken a hit due to the economy, btw, though neither of the two accounts i have is very large. can't lose what you don't have i guess. taks

the new job you got right before the accident, or are you talking the old job? taks

mine is only going to be about $600 this year. with 2 rising incomes coupled with declining deductions it is nearly impossible to break even (which is my goal). last year i actually ended up $2000 in the other direction (about a $1500 refund), which i really didn't want to deal with - it is more efficient to not give the government that no-interest loan - but that was because of an overpayment on some of my other taxes. taks

i went skiing at copper mountain today. spent the morning with my son, for the first time, then moved over to ski with my usual partners in crime (usual slope partners). we ended up in the tucker mountain bowl. i was pretty loud when i dropped in 10 feet straight down without wiping out. yay. now i'm sore, and i'm running a fever (not unusual). snack time then naptosis for the evening. taks

the was the other question i had with you and a liberty - you're a big guy as i recall. there ya go... hehe. sort of wish i had waited to get my car. oh well, i got a good rate on it at the time and even made out ok on my trade. MSRP, of course, but i couldn't expect much better after the wife and son were drooling over the built-in DVD player... sheesh. taks
-
And why is that exactly? because he's seen all the michael moore films. that, and he stayed in a holiday in express recently. taks

i loved it. there was some silliness, but the characters are overall rather entertaining, if not outright hilarious at points. the end of the season was quite well done and i'm looking forward to the next round. taks

and, yes, i don't normally get the shots because of my fear of needles. but 8 weeks of being sick is just too much. taks

i'm pretty sure i've had both flus this year already. the last one ended a few weeks ago and now i have the consistent cough that won't go away. actually, the cough is better than it has been, so maybe i'm finally healing. whatever caused the morning issues seems to be gone, too. i'm wiped out, however, and still a little shaky from the events. i hate evacuating. always have. like, i fear that more than i fear needles and needles are pass-out worthy for me. next year, i'm getting the flu shots (my son didn't get them this year, either). my wife has passed through cold and flu season without as much as a sniffle. beatch. taks

i had some fast moving stomach illness pass through me yesterday. my belly isn't in the best of conditions to begin with, and whatever hit me simply made things worse. tight cramp and it was obvious nothing was digesting. somewhere between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m., the brain decided it was time to get up and call for an evacuation. that helped, though i never did get to sleep. the belly is still sore, but better. it was a rather violent evacuation, so i expect things to be out of sorts for another day or so. taks

i wanted black, but ended up with the deep metallic blue nissan uses. it's pretty dark, so i was ok with it. of course, when i showed up, my wife and son were already in the back seat going gaga over the DVD player that was built-in, which sort of killed any negotiation power i had. grrr... assuming i stick with the xterra for my 4-wheeling needs until it dies, which is actually a not very likely assumption, my next car will be a family car: infinity m45x... mmmmmm. taks

no grandstanding. therefore not worth the effort. taks
