I don't think anyone wants to pause their epic Mass Effect or Dragon Age experience every 15 minutes to play a game of chess. Which is kind of the problem. To make it not clunky or slow, you would at least have to do something like the Final Fantasy turn-meter. Also being turn-based would be worthless without additional tactical options, which in turn would slow everything down even more.

Yeah, whether this was actually meant to look like a lens flare, please don't put the same effect on the screen 10+ times it feels cheap.

The thing is that adding super nice graphics to a turn based games just makes the ridiculousness of "you hit me - I hit you" so much more obvious. Which is probably part of the reason why they have gone on to handhelds and the scary void of indie PC rpgs. Since no one has really managed to make a turn based game "exciting" without losing the turn-basedness, we won't probably be seeing any AAA releases in that category, unless it's some weird card or puzzle game.

There's already a threadful of awesome PC indie games, including supposedly awesome rpgs.

The last non-indie turn based RPG I can remember was ToEE. What's wrong with real time with pause?

The options for selling indie games are the best they've ever been, and even the bigger companies don't have to make only AAA games. Also, I'm pretty sure Blizzard is doing whatever the hell they want.

Maybe the initial concept behind the game was "what if JJ Abrams had directed the Dungeon Siege movie?"

That's why we buy ****loads everytime we come there. Usually my car is pretty much full of beer, cider, lonkero (whatever it is called in english), vodka and wine. I still say it a pretty big drawback for being the best country I'd call lonkero a mixer, personally.

I don't understand what you're saying, if you live in Sweden you buy all your booze in Estonia :S The Baltic states are kind of like the booze store for the other Scandinavian countries. Having to take a 3 hour boat trip every time you want booze is somewhat inconvenient . You're still going to get crazy lag for stuff hosted outside of Australia, though.

It's your own fault, who gets excited for gamescom? Pfft It's E3 for the 3 Europeans who still don't have internet. TGS will have some new stuff probably and they'll be showing off The Last Guardian.

Having actual advertising might help, as would a whole bunch of polish.

Diablo 3 crafting walkthrough featuring interface shots and crafting. You can now add sockets to any item and they still have repairable items and hardcore mode.

The hand drawn looking effects look great, but that lens flare looking thing is ridiculous. The characters look great while there's some pretty iffy low-res textures in some of the backgrounds...

Holy lense flare, Batman! JJ Abrams would be proud. It doesn't look bad, but it's a little glisteny for my taste. I don't see what you're all falling over each other for.
