  1. I'd guess it would be like 'knowing the Matrix', warping reality through knowledge of laws, and loosing the need for a physical focal point for your existence. Of course, I can also say how should we know, we're not ascended. Once you realize that there IS no rain you can dodge it, slo-mo style. The Matrix thing is kinda like the Planescape thing isn't it?
  2. I don't know if this was already discussed in the last thread, but the ESRB rating summary revealed some funny stuff about a brothel:(really minor spoiler) The rest of the summary contains some additional spoilers, but it's out of context and without any names.
  3. Ascension? Hah, with the way humanity's going we're all going to burn in nuclear fires way before that. Also it doesn't make any sense. Unless you go digital, you are your biological shell.
  4. I think it DOES require Games For Windows Live, right?
  5. But the female Tremere with the best armor looks the awesomest.
  6. That's pretty weird since FADE is supposed to work by having certain sectors on the DVD marked. You don't get a DVD with Steam, so one would think that FADE would be useless. Damn developers not being upfront about their crappy DRM, they own the customers at least that.
  7. Obviously he should use the unofficial patch that I linked above to fix all the millions of bugs left after the second official patch, right? Who want to play through a potentially buggy game the first time?
  8. It's awesome, be sure to get the latest fan patch. Seriously, you have been missing out if you haven't played Bloodlines. The combat it totally ok for an RPG and the characters, story and dialogs are awesome. I played it some time ago with the fan patch and didn't run into any bugs(that I noticed). It's one of the best RPGs of the last ~5 years along with MotB. Edit: The vampire stuff really isn't the ooky Twilight love story crap. It's just an awesome story that happens to be about vamps. Super Edit: You can get the latest unofficial patch from here. It should work with the Steam version, but I haven't tried that myself.
  9. New "Marines" trailer. Looks pretty nice, still waiting for that "Alien" trailer, they better make wall-running work.
  10. I belive that the FADE DRM requires a disc to work as it opperates based on fake "scratches" on the DVD. I do not, however, know if the Steam version has another form of this DRM or if it shipped with only Steam's own DRM (id est Steam). According to Steam's forum the Steam version doesn't have securom(and presumably the FADE). Great if the demo continues to be awesome, I might get Arma 2.
  11. But it's so pretty and I think it has some stuff inside it too. Maybe the manual?
  12. Yeah, I tried to download the demo three times and each time it had some error while installing. I finally got the Steam demo and it work nicely. The really sad part is that the game seems to be pretty awesome. I didn't see any extra DRM on the Steam page, can anyone confirm that the Steam version has the same 5 activation limit + evil homebrew DRM?
  13. You would have saved $2 by buying it from Good Old Games, and they also guarantee that it will work. Plus you would have gotten the soundtrack, artwork, wallpapers and more stuff. Best of all you would have supported the Witcher's publisher CD Projekt. I saw the trilogy pack in a certain hypermarket chain a few days ago, and the box was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. Does the GoG version have a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l box? Certainly not. On the flipside, the one from GoG actually works and it doesn't take up physical space. I still have the damn Fallout 1 cardboard box taking up room here.
  14. Oh, okay. Didn't know they still have that, guess it's better than dial up. Don't you have any wireless broadband around there?
  15. And by graphics you mean the nude cards, right?
  16. Pretty much. I really like how they expanded the SPECIAL system to all the races with their own unique perks and traits. Also, the real time combat works surprisingly well.
  17. You can write the GoG self-extracting archives on as many discs, thumbdrives and HDDs as you want. It's completely DRM free and you can probably put all three games on a single DVD.
  18. Apparently Arma II only has 5 Securom activations. At least that developer didn't learn anything from Spore...

  20. Playing Heretic on DOSBox, it's like an even better Doom 2.
  21. Almost as awesome as this:
  22. That might be true, but the platform holders would kill the second-hand market in a heartbeat if they could. They still need the retail, so they have to play nice.
  23. Total War and Mount & Blade fall into the European hardcore pc-only category. I agree about Steam & co, but it does mean that full-price retail games are generally going to be less and less original(think Madden 08/09/10 etc.).
  24. Speaking of voice, they really need to make synthetic voices that sound decent, poor silent mods
