  1. Okay, then I'll say that taking risks and experimenting has gone down with full price games. The experience has become more scripted/controlled, the developers are trusting the player less.
  2. Well, they are way shorter now and there are a lot of crappy games that still cost $60(Like the Terminator Salvation game). Lots of companies have also gone under because of the increasing costs to stay competitive and more will probably follow.
  3. EULAs are more like the company's wishlist for you than a legal contract. They aren't legally enforceable.
  4. The pricing issue was solved. $10 more = licensing fees to platform holders(MS, Sony, Nintendo) No one is forcing anyone to buy the game. The "online required" clause should be on the box and if it's unacceptable then people can choose not to buy it. Steam pretty much requires constant online connection and most people are happy with that. The only difference here is that this will use EA's crappy servers that will probably go down every now and then. I don't have a problem with this concept if it is executed well. Also, you have never owned the game, the money you pay for a copy is you licensing a right to play the game. Now they are just changing the terms.
  5. How often does that happen? I can see it being a problem when on the move, but I don't think my ISP has ever had a technical fault(at least not while I was using the net)
  6. That doesn't make it a single player game. While I don't like DRM, I think that this actually has some benefits, unlike the limited activation thing. Such as persistent stats and whatnot.
  7. Having to be online to play is better than having a limited number of activations. Until they turn off the server... software with limited activation can be used after that, untill you reinstall your PC, or you use some less conventional means (you know what i mean ) But online only Single player game??? nothing will help you ever unless you are so pro that you buy yourself a computer and set up there fully functional cracked virtual server so you can play the game after big shutdown... i never thought i would say it but i take limited activation game over online only any day... in our country it is legal to circumvent DRM for product you purchased legaly... I somehow doubt that this won't get cracked, and you won't be needing a virtual server for that. Also, It's not a single player game. You can play it single player, but it also has co-op and vs modes, it's like Left 4 Dead.
  8. Having to be online to play is better than having a limited number of activations. I realy wish it will be something different than new sort of DRM mechanism... but i am realy sceptic about it... We'll see when it comes out. I'd like to think that they learned something from the whole Spore spectacle.

  10. Well, I like it. Also, I'll take anything over the gray/brown "realism" that is still the default for some reason.
  11. That's so 2008, man. What new game has limited activations? Even Bioware dropped the DRM on Dragon Age. Over here PC games cost around $50-$60 and console games cost $90-$100.(converted)
  12. There's a lot of previews out there. Here's one from Rock, Papers Shotgun. Apparently it's a lot like Diablo. The four different characters all represent different classes with different branching skill trees, one dude is a melee guy, one is a sniper, the chick is stealthy and I can't remember what the last one does. You can play single player with just one of the four, but people can jump in Diablo-style and you can play it co-op. The classes' skills compliment each other. You can also do PvP, but you have to issue a challenge and they have to accept, if they do you get invincibility from the outside world till the duel is over. It will have an rpg style inventory system, but I don't think there are details on that yet. You'll also have a normal health bar and a regenerating shield bar.
  13. The consoles also have a huge used game market with slightly cheaper games.
  14. But Borderlands is actually made by a developer with some experience and it doesn't have a subscription model. Rage is way off in the future. Were/are the people at Flagship/id not experienced? I'm not saying anything bad about Rage or id, it's just not coming out yet. The Flagship people were more game developers and less business people, I'm sure they could have made a decent game if they had had more time and resources.
  15. Luck 10 with Jinxed is always a hoot. Most enemies kill each other or just blow up.
  16. So you had an authentic Watchmen cinematic experience
  17. So is it better than Warcraft 3's Arthas storyline?
  18. If you get the special edition, you can eat all the sausages...
  19. Season 4 is going to be the season to end all seasons. Not only will it have But it will also have Claire "engage in a little Sapphic experimentation" in college.
  20. Hope you have a 360, apparently Alan Wake isn't coming to the PC at launch.

  22. Curse you, it was cleverly hidden this time! If by cleverly hidden you mean placed in a big blue highlighted spot, then we agree. I look at the little icons and not the big flashy banner-like ads on the side! In all seriousness it was pretty funny, but nothing can beat his Sims 3 rant.
