  1. I really like all these arguments. The point of the demo is to show what the game is like, if you're going to base your opinion on anything then the officially demo made by the developer in order to show off the game(presumably well enough to the get people interested in it) sounds like a pretty good place to start, no?
  2. Yeah, I'll try to keep the obvious, pandering jokes to a minium in the future.
  3. Ouch, mad burn at Obsidian
  4. The dreaded "non-games" on Facebook and where ever are probably also considered in those statistics...
  5. After a careful and thoroughly scientific* analysis of NeoGAF's reaction, I conclude that the response was 3/4 negative or non-positive. Also, love that that GameFAQs screenshot *no actual thoroughness or science was used in the creation of those statistics
  6. There are still people without gamepads out there? You learn something new everyday. It's less than
  7. this is comedy gold. Please don't stop now guys.
  8. Max Payne 2 is where it's at, brah.
  9. But yeah, youtube reviews of anything up to your mother and her cat are dime a dozen these days. I find written ones to be well... more impersonal.
  10. Hey, he's following the industry standard to the letter
  11. I heard that "hardcore RPG scenesters" were severely allergic to QTEs.
  12. Yahtzee doesn't like that kind of games and he's in no capacity an official "reviewer" for anyone. What you get is his opinion heavily spiked with humor. If you don't agree, tough.
  13. So I realized that us European PC-toting peasants are finally allowed to play the demo as well. After having to change all my regional setting to the hallowed land of the free and the brave, I was finally able to run it. My impression matches my expectations pretty well, it's a mediocre action RPG. The graphics and especially the backgrounds are pretty good, the animations are horrible, the combat is functional, the abilities seem interesting, the menus are clunky beyond all belief(I think AP did a better job) and what little writing/story I saw was ok at best. Just my two cents, I wasn't really interested in DS3 anyway.
  14. Not too many games left where you can randomly assault civilians or anyone other than the designated enemies, really.
  15. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet) The definition of troll doesn't apply to whats been said in this thread so far. If anything, your comment fits the definition a lot better. Not really sure what a plant-con man deal is..? Inside joke? Regardless, I think that the concerns me and others have posted are held by a large portion of the PC gaming community (Look at other forums on the subject). I was going for more general board-wide trolling here. And no inside jokes, what I had in mind was a two person trolling where one would act as a new wide-eyed idealist new to the game and the other provided foil for him. This could be really epic if someone managed to pull it off. It is good to hear that there are so many people that care about the game and the franchise. When Alpha Protocol came out there were barely any people around at all, trolls included.
  16. This actually gives me hope that they've focused on more important gameplay features. That's not how game development works. Plus, secondary textures are often done on contract out of studio. This is why some of Heavy Rain's textures look good and some look awful and low-res.
  17. I really like the tag-team trolling, guys, would love to see you try a plant-con man kind of a deal at some point.
  18. Oh crap, block the gates, man the walls, the horde is coming!
  19. The point was that what happened before doesn't matter, who started it or why. Fallout was about starting fresh, what you make out of the new world and what other people have already made.
  20. "In general, we're giving studios a full two-year cycle to get a game built and polished to maximum quality,
