  1. The background is vague for a reason, a prequel would be a horrible idea, in my opinion. Just go with Van Buren and Denver.
  2. It did have some pretty sweet CQC, though. Too bad none of you got to experience it. Then again it did also have square wheels, which is a pretty good metaphor for the game...
  3. They had awesome cinema-level FMV stuff in there. It's just the gameplay that sucked 95% of the time.
  4. Someone has been watching too much pro-wrestling. I miss Enter the Matrix where you could do all kinds of cool acrobatic stuff with guns and do awesome disarms where you take the gun and shoot them in the same action
  5. Shush, my theory is officially airtight. What Summer Glau is to tv series, Obsidian is to game franchises.
  6. I read today in gamespot forums that someone made a thread saying that Obsidian should be called the franchise Killer ??? why ? just because the game isn't developed by your favorite devs? Thinking about it, this is actually quite true, no Obsidian-developed franchises have got direct sequels I think Alpha Protocol has created a new generation of embittered people. Us old folk have become soft in our late years, you'll have to fight the good fight in our stead.
  7. Hell is Twitter, but the devil chooses who you follow...
  8. Too bad he's unbearable then.
  9. Witcher 2
  10. It's hard to argue with opinions. My point was that Obsidian's schtick was and is writing, like Valve's is super polish and Bethesda's is open worlds.
  11. BS their art department is very good, and encounter/level design in most games reaches genius levels at times. can't comment on the engines, since this is the first game to use an in-house engine. so what's left... character development is usually good, they have good designers working on their leveling systems. what else... I guess one could say their games lack polish, but that's understandable at least, though not excusable of course. what do you mean by "mediocre or worse"? what crusade? the only people who really enjoyed FO3 were those who had never played the originals. The art is hit and miss, and not helped by the myriad of horrible engines. The quests/encounters are cool, level design has been from horrid to functional from what I can recall. The mechanics have actually been awesome(discounting the numerous bugs), I especially dug the AP perk system. But yeah, the writing is the main thing that stands out in their stuff, if anything. As for the FO3 comment, shots fired (and already returned).
  12. My point was we are all biased for better or worse(trolls excluded) and people should be able to voice their complaints on the subject(within reason). Oh and you could press q in FO3 to move forward without having to hold down the button
  13. So what about NMA's little crusade? The wide majority of people enjoyed Fallout 3, from what I can remember. There's a lot of semi-crappy games that have sentimental value to me and I would care about the sequel being faithful to the original, whether some other people agree or not.
  14. What about the franchise? I'm sure there's a lot of people who aren't happy with the direction the franchise is taking, don't they have a right to complain?
  15. I was just about to ask what the "fans" thoughts of Space Siege, because for all intents and purposes it's more of the same. Oh and cut down on the "quoted for truth" posts, they lack content. (not you, Morg)
  16. Well, aren't you the hipster king Nathan Drake might be a douchebag, but Uncharted is a really fun game with some of the best voice acting and animations this generation.
  17. The PC market is pretty chillin' with GOG and Steam, the PC retail market should already be dead at this point. Obsidian is a one trick pony, they have good writing, everything else is usually mediocre or worse.
  18. I am a sucker for like noble tragedy/moral wronged in fiction tho...like Braveheart or Rob Roy, which is why I'm surprised. I mean, Lord Stark having a mercy & moral ethic that gets him in trouble shouldn't feel quite so idiotic, yet it does. I still think it's lack of screentime/chr. development on-screen. And maybe Sean Bean kinda phoning in his performance. And the Snow-Stark actor playing it as kind of a whine-bag. *pickpickpick* You should dig Joe Abercrombie then
  19. This is next-next gen, man. I want to believe that the future is AA-enabled.
  20. Don't forget jaggies
  21. Most people I know play handhelds at home while watching TV and whatnot. Looks pretty current-genish.
  22. Seems like a really weird decision to undercut the 3DS market, gimp your new HD console's controller and overprice your console :/
  23. This is the future man!* *There is a console you plug into your TV.
  24. Noo, it's an unholy abomination of both
