Yes, if its related to Russia, Putin's war and the reason for the invasion then its relevant. Griner was arrested in Russia and the sentence was severe due to her being American. As I explained its political and about the support that the US is giving Ukraine. Which is why I didnt post it in the political thread which I normally would have

Thats why you guys should create your own thread, you can discuss lots of issues outside of Ukraine that clearly are important to you? Its a win win for everyone

Thats interesting, what is your current work project? So this 2014 Putin law probably bans information about the Katyn killings of Polish citizens? https://www.historiamag.com/cover-up-of-katyn-massacre/

And this is the official Russian media that some people claim " is the same as the Western media " around spin and propaganda

Geez, imagine being a new conscripted recruit. What an honor fighting for the " glory of the Motherland "

I have spent 120 hours on Exanima and I've basically completed most of the maps and defeated most of the main enemies like the Golem president and now I have the effective and superlative Golem Armor, ostensibly the best armor in the game. The game is technically unfinished but I have completed as much as I can My views on this game are the same as my previous posts, its very positive for several reasons that include it has the most realistic and exciting combat in any action RPG I have ever played its the most difficult but worthwhile game I have ever played. You really celebrate when you find level maps and green health crystals which are extremely rare I did use save scumming and I recommend that to newbies or most people unless you master combat which I still havent done but my combat skills are vastly improved. I am not sure if Sui Generis, the main game, will ever be released but I hope it is because this game has unique and "hardcore " action RPG mechanics and the full version will be a grand and worthwhile gaming experience But well done to the indie developers for this gem I cant give it the normal and globally respected " BruceVC game rating score" because its not complete

Its both surprising and understandable to see these protests. The CCP draconian control of the country normally means the average Chinese citizen doesnt really protest because they accept the state thinks for them and it gets to decide their future overall in the best possible way. But these lockdowns must be the most illogical and counter-productive decision I have ever seen from the CCP, in some cities people weren't allowed on to balconies under lockdowns...they weren't allowed on to balconies I mentioned previously that in SA people flying to China had to wear full Hazmat suits It raises several interesting points about the ineffectiveness of the CCP Corona strategy that include the sinofarm vaccines were never as effective as we told from the CPP the overall vaccine rate was never as high in China as we were told there is a valid argument that allows the virus to go through society so that " natural " immunity develops alongside optional vaccination. In SA we only achieved 35% double vaccination and 85% of the population got the virus anyway but we have moved on from any lockdowns as a strategy to deal with the virus because it didnt work anyway for us

But why dont you create your own thread on Kosovo, Iraq, Syria, Libya and the Palestinian vs Israeli conflict? There is no reason you cant. Then you guys can lament and rage on the hypocrisy of the West in a dedicated thread? Im sure it will be well supported?

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/money/topstories/oil-prices-fall-2-25-as-chinese-demand-worries-linger/ar-AA14yQ2V Oil price is down nicely to $82 and its primarily because of less demand from the likes of China and there ridiculous and draconian attempts to control the virus. OPEC + understandably cut oil production from the 1 November because they predicted that there will be less demand but this hasnt created the panic buying and oil price to rise Vatniks cheered this thinking that this was about support for Putin's War but end of the day Russia's attempt to blackmail the world and the West with energy, both gas and oil, has failed and will continue to fail because Russia energy contribution is not as important as Vatniks believe Russia's ability to influence energy prices will become more and more irrelevant as the world adjusts and finds different markets, it will always matter because it is an oil producer but the main reason for energy price fluctuation is global supply and demand. Its not about Putin sabotaging pipes or their own type of " Western sanctions " on oil supply Chinas appetite for oil is much more relevant to the overall oil price than what Putin's hopes he can control Its a pity @Darkpriestisnt active at the moment. I would love to hear his ZH predictions now. He has constantly told us that in the third or fourth quarter ( we now at the near the end of the fourth quarter)we going to see price of oil and gas skyrocket and how this would " crash" Western economies and this is all because of Western sanctions on Russia Thats been proven to be clearly untrue but thats the risk with economic predictions that are based on ideological views and not data

This is good news for the economically broken country, I cant think of a better example of how socialist ineptitude and corruption and nationalization can quickly destroy a prosperous country. I also like this part "Additionally, any profits earned will go to repaying debt to Chevron and not to the Maduro regime " Thats necessary because of the 2007 egregious theft of foreign oil company assets by Chavez, its interesting how forced nationalization always comes back to haunt the governments that do it

Another series of new lows for Putin, using staged grieving mothers and trying to convince black students to fight in his calamitous war
-
Yes we know how you selectively reject international law, like the sovereignty of countries and Russian war crimes, because it doesnt suit your narrative and ideological bias towards the West No need to point out what is demonstrably obvious

Well shes American, black and her life matters? And the AU could actually care about the killings in Ethiopia. If they can comment on racism on the border of Poland Im sure they can condemn the death and starvation of 500k people in Ethiopia. But the AU statements are that this violence is "legitimate " https://edition.cnn.com/2022/03/01/africa/africa-condemns-racism-ukraine-intl/index.html https://news.yahoo.com/african-union-says-ethiopia-acted-120429299.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall And Im not sure why you think the EU should care more for conflicts in Africa than the AU?

Thats a position I can understand, I dont criticize countries that have the strict and consistent laws around drug smuggling because its clear and its their country. I mentioned this before but when you land in Saudi Arabia they have a line in the arrival lounge with a warning in English and Arabic that basically says " you can dump any drugs now but if you cross the line and you caught with drugs its the death penalty ". I dont agree with the death penalty for drug smuggling but thats their laws and they unequivocal about it and they clearly warn you But whats happening to Griner is not that, drug usage is rampant in Russia. See if you can find a single case of anyone being sentenced to 10 years for 1 gram of cannabis. Its purely political and about anti-US sentiment and its not consistent. Also she wasnt smuggling, she acknowledged she bought it for personal usage

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/11/17/europe/brittney-griner-russia-prison-colony/index.html Griner has been sent to a penal colony to serve her 9 year " sentence " for possession of less than 1 gram of cannabis And no real real global outrage from BLM movements. But thats to be expected because its not in a Western country. You can have 500k people die in Ethiopia in a civil war and thats okay but racism on the border of Poland and Hungary will galvanize outrage and protest

Good, that gives the Ukrainians more time to blow the bridge up again

The TV and Streaming Thread: Summer Reruns
BruceVC replied to InsaneCommander's topic in Way Off-Topic
@Gorth @Gfted1 @Lexx@ShadySands@majestic@Zoraptor and all fans of sci-fi You really have to watch this series, its on Netflix and as I mentioned you will never ever predict the ending. And dont read any spoilers. Just watch the 8 episodes -
Good observation, I didnt read the comments. It must have been something he wanted to discuss? It would make sense

Its disgusting comments but the depths of bigotry stopped surprising me years ago Another thing the moronic father doesnt realize is straight people go to gay bars as well, I have been going to gay bars for years. Apart from having gay friends and gay bars are very social you often find straight women who have best friends who are gay and they generally very impressed that a straight guy " doesnt mind hanging around with LGBT" so you set a very good precedent because its clear you not alpha male and you comfortable with your sexuality
