  1. I also voted turn-based, stupid question but why wouldn't you want turn-based? Aren't all classic IE games and the original Planescape turn-based and those really worked well ? EDIT: Okay I misunderstood the difference. I see where I was wrong
  2. Not really, how a person identifies themselves is important but you're never going to convince me that the white kid in the gansta getup that calls himself the N-word is black. But yeah, white South African that are born and raised are African even if some would identify more with their white ancestry. Sure I agree about your gangsta example. But its not what I am saying, I didn't mean to say your personal identity within a country can't be debatable but in your example that person is still an American. In South Africa third generation white South Africans get told they are not "South African" but "European"
  3. Oh no I am waiting for Oby to comment on this one My family came from England and settled in Zimbabwe and South Africa in the last 100 years. I was born in South Africa. Personally I think people prescribe too much attention to "where are you from". If a person chooses to immigrate to a country and become a citizen then they are from that country. In South Africa I regularly hear from some Black South Africans that White South Africans "aren't really African" as 300 hundred years ago there ancestors came from Europe and so now they can't claim to be African Anyway its irrelevant to me what people think I am, all that matters is what I think I am. And I am South African
  4. Would you be happy with Taco Bell as a menu item at your school? Or rather lets say it was the standard meal on Friday for the kids
  5. I turned it down. "Community Manager" is also not the same as team management by a long shot - if it was a team management thing, I might have taken it. I may dislike management but it's not a make-or-break issue. But there's only so much I can take from this company in skills and finishing school through the TV Show oppertunity is a much better fit for me right now. And yeah, I'm not particularely fond of everyone there, there's a lot of office politics, unprofessional behaviour and the "employees haven't been paid for a few months" thing is a bit of a clincher. I'm not going to do a job I really don't want to do unless I'm positive I'm going to get paid. You made the right decision, I thought you received some terrible advice from some of our esteemed members In life you really should try to enjoy what you are doing from a work perspective. 80% of people hate there jobs or just do it to pay there bills. Here you were learning a skill that you really were enjoying in a field that is difficult to get opportunities in and you were considering taking a job in a managerial position for something that you didn't enjoy? Helllllooo....can anyone see what is wrong with that logic????? Its also best to work at least a year in your position as you are basically learning. Companies prefer consistency around the length of how long a person stays in a particular company Well done on your decision young Skywalker
  6. I know its junk food but it looks delicious
  7. Hi Drowsy darling Nice to see you posting again. Where have you been? And I see you still actively believe the infamous and flawed " the glass is half empty " philosophy
  8. Guys if you want to see someone getting flamed you need to read some of the comments to his "review". I was going to comment just to show my annoyance at his opinion but after reading some of opinions you almost feel sorry for him...almost
  9. I like working with people who will compromise there principles for money. They are easy to understand. Going forward I am prepared to pay you if always agree and support me around the importance and relevance of Romance in RPG. Agreed ?
  10. I have to be honest but this is one of the most irritating reviews I've ever read in my life. The complete laziness of the reviewer and his stupidity undermines any valid input he may have around BG2. He doesn't deserve to be reviewing games. But he definitely doesn't represent the gaming journalist fraternity, he is just really bad at his job. There are many excellent, reasonable and insightful gaming journalists out there who provide valuable reviews of games. But he isn't one of them
  11. I'm playing Walking Dead and its good fun, I have just finished Season 2. I am enjoying getting to know the personalities of the various characters. Telltale has done an excellent job in endearing you to certain people, like Clementine. But I am already dreading the ending as I know something sad is going to happen and I can only guess what
  12. I have to honest I have never really got into baking, its something I intend to rectify. But I always use pre-made pastry
  13. " inappropriate" ? I don't see why, that's one of the main reasons around what bars and clubs are for. It may become unsatisfying or banal one day but its not like you are drugging these ladies and taking them home, I really don't get the word "inappropriate" around what you are doing. Also Internet dating isn't for everyone so the traditional way of meeting people in bar\club may just be what works for you
  14. I don't think they are similar at all and the main reason being this is just a forum and you can choose who you want to respond to and what you want to learn, its a mental space we operate in. But its not the same thing as someone actually defecating in your personal space which is more of a physical problem ..isn't it
  15. Bruce VC: Agreed! But it's even more entertaining to ignore those warnings and go ahead and fight an uphill battle and come out on top, and then you get to hear a few barks like: "I didn't know I had it in me", "We're all knackered and next to maimed, but we still get to see another day.", "Did I just get hernia because of this hideous brawl?", "You were lucky! I got spider veins in my once beautiful thigh." funny comments
  16. I don't disagree with certain quests being too hard to initially complete but I don't see the reason for a pointless quest like in your example where you get no reward for doing it later. Also you should get some kind of warning if a particular monster is going to be too difficult. I don't see this as detracting from the overall experience?
  17. Good point, other people read the responses to Oby and these responses are relevant and interesting. I overlooked that one and its true
  18. Bruce, how jealous are you right now? They don't even have to shoehorn in sexy time, a la BioWare or CDPR, it's an RPG based around sexy time. I'm completely committed to the importance of Romance in RPG but this game just looks silly Bruce, I'm shocked. I thought you, of all people, would be able to appreciate and embrace the aspects of different cultures' video game romances. You need to open up your mind and allow yourself to experience the beauty and majesty of video game romances from our brothers and sisters in the Far East. Keyrock I have to honest, I'm a flawed person and still find some ideas around the implementation of Romance in certain games to be lacking. I agree I shouldn't judge but I cant help myself
  19. Bruce, how jealous are you right now? They don't even have to shoehorn in sexy time, a la BioWare or CDPR, it's an RPG based around sexy time. I'm completely committed to the importance of Romance in RPG but this game just looks silly
  20. I agree, Ros I can appreciate all the effort you put into your posts disputing what Oby says but I don't believe he even bothers to read or properly understand what people say. I realised this a long time ago so nowadays I don't spend more than 5 minutes responding to him
  21. Hopefully, hopefully. We can never have enough decent Romance options in a RPG
  22. well the trip on foot should negate all the calories, you little health fanatic you I hardly think so. I can only assume you've never drunk mountain dew. It's like consuming sugar-dipped loft insulation. Yeah I agree, I was being sarcastic
  23. Thanks for providing these screenshots in a convenient manner. I haven't seen them all so this is great
  24. Yes, this is exactly the answer what I was looking for. Someone expressing their opinion as a dogma and indirectly insulting everyone who doesn't agree with said opinion. And of course the cancer inducing humor. Bravo, sir, I applaud you. Don't expect too much constructive feedback from Monte, he doesn't even like Romance in Bioware games so his whole opinion on topics is questionable I can't say I noticed slowness around issues like the casting of Magic Missile but I do love that spell and always choose it. Its quick to cast and disrupts enemy spell casters. I also get a vicarious thrill from seeing my enemies get pummelled by multiple missiles. I have just finished IWD for the first time and Magic Missile provided invaluable aid in combat
