  1. You look good, imagine how big you would be if you did take supplements
  2. Keyrock I'm really impressed with your views to ensure equality and fair representation in games. But sometimes we need to choose our battles, I don't want to dismiss your point but we probably won't achieve animal equality in a game like this
  3. I'm reading a book called "Springboks on the Somme" which is about the South African military contribution during World War One. I have just read the chapter on Delville Wood, its evocative and haunting when you hear about the conditions and sacrifice during the 5 days of the battle. I can't imagine the mental and physical fortitude to survive something like that...and what makes it worse is the survivors still participated in other brutal battle like Passchendaele
  4. Wow is this some semblance of patriotism I'm seeing, are you actually happy your country has done well?
  5. I also think the ability to turn-off certain features is advantageous, like in Dishonoured and the way the quest markers worked
  6. I personally like when they don't give you the skill/stat amount needed, or even the skill/stat for that matter, it just looks like any other dialogue option, and if you don't meet the requirements or fail on your roll then you fail the influence attempt and have to deal with the consequences of your failed attempt. The downsides to this method are: 1) It encourages metagaming and save-scumming. 2) It can be difficult to convey how difficult or preposterous an influence attempt might be without clobbering you over the head with a number. My responses to those two valid concerns would be: 1) People are going to metagame and save-scum anyway if they're inclined to do so. 2) I enjoy trying to decipher/guess how much something would go against a certain character's wishes and nature and how far I could push them and get away with it from what I've learned about the character, their manner of speech, personality, etc. Hi Keyrock What do you mean by metagaming and save-scum in the context of DA:I?
  7. @ Shady The CIA and the USA has nothing to do with these protests. These protests were a long time coming, the facts are Venezuela hasn't been running there economy well for years. There has been a slow clampdown of institutions like the free press and despite the fact the country has natural resources there are shortages of food and a break down of certain basic services. The reality is there socialist experiment has failed and people in the streets are tired of it
  8. Zora I like you and I enjoy your posts but you really need to stop believing in these anti-western conspiracy theories
  9. I've got 5 cats, one is a Norwegian forest cat and the rest are just domestic shorthaired cats, some with lynx-like tufts on their ears. I don't have any particular breed preference or something, I do like the white cats we used to have here though, but they're gone now do to castrations and sterilizations. I love cats, I wanted to see what a Norwegian forest cat looked like so I googled it. They are adorable
  10. Maybe they were just having a rabbit gang bang? Hi Nep Where have you been, there has been a lack of posting lately from some of the regulars and I was getting worried In court at the Finnish equivalent of Innsmouth and stressed out of my brain. Well good to have you back, I was starting to miss that 'lawyer humour and chatter " that I'm use to

  12. You make some good and thought provoking points, its a pity you aren't a proud promancer. Our army could effectively utilize someone of your insights and erudition
  13. Do you live in a western country? If so, maybe you should travel to countries were actual repression is present, maybe it can put some perspective in you. I agree with Tagaziel on this point, even though you can find similarity in some of the points I mentioned in Western countries you don't find it in the degree that you find it in Russia or the fact that's is legalised, for example the latest Homophobic Bill that is now law in Russia.
  14. What type of cats do you have and how many?
  15. Do they? Many do. How many is the question. Good question, I don't know. I will have to do some research to find out
  16. ea I still think that visiting a country is essential for considering whether or not it would be a suitable place to migrate to, but eh. To answer your question, I'd probably choose to live in Monaco. Nah, just kidding, it's not even a real country anyway. But seriously, I'd probably choose Sweden. Insane taxes but great living standards and public services. Now, what does this have to do with anything? Thanks for responding, I need you to answer one more question. If you choose to live in a particular country would any of the following effect how you view if you could live in that country persecution of the free press arrests of journalists who don't tow the incumbent party line blatant discrimination against minority groups, for example homophobia lack of rights for immigrants and abuse of there basic human rights egregious corruption and nepotism Its fine if these things don't bother you, the truth is for some people they don't. As long as they aren't on the receiving end some people can live anywhere. So please be honest about if these things would bother you and impact where you could live I've decided to make my point around this topic. The first part of this post positions some context and some of this people will know or has been posted already After the collapse of the USSR many countries gained there political freedom and hoped for independent economic prosperity. Fast forward 24 years and we have a mixed bag of results for the previous members of the USSR. Some countries are doing really well economically, like Poland and certain Baltic states, and other countries not doing so well like Bulgaria and Ukraine. But the reality is that the Ukraine wants to align itself with a union of countries to ensure economic upliftment. And they only have two real choices, the EU or the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia. So my first point is people shouldn't ask " what makes you think that Ukraine needs to be part of any Union, why can't they just be independent" This is not even part of the debate as we know Ukraine wants to go one way or the other. This is where the political dichotomy comes into the equation and where the protests in Ukraine began. The president of Ukraine, Yanukovych, decided that talks with the EU would end and he seemed to be favouring the Russian union only. People took to the streets in protest and violence has been steadily getting worse over the last few months. So the question we need to ask is "what is the best option for Ukraine, the EU or the customs Union with Russia" because they can't be part of both. This boils down to a subjective debate for some but the reality is it seems the majority of Ukrainians want the EU union. And what is very important to realize is this is not only about the perceived economic prosperity that the EU may bring, in fact I would say that the average Ukrainian doesn't think of the EU as some sort of financial panacea as we all know the EU is facing an economic slowdown amongst some of its members. This is much more about the ideological union that the EU brings. Ukraine will always have strong ethnic and cultural ties to Russia but for most Ukrainians they would prefer a future that is aligned politically and ideologically with the EU. This is not because the Ukraine will be guaranteed to do better economically in the EU. So the final question may be "but what makes the EU a better choice than Russia ideologically" That question is easily answered if you ask yourself a simple question " where would you choose to live if you could". And as I mentioned many factors influence this decision but for almost all of us the answer is obvious " the EU". That's the way the Ukrainians see it as well
  17. I see they are allowing a Dog companion, I am concerned that this isn't realistic and accurate to Medieval history. What are we going to do about this?? Even if you mean it as joke its quite off because there were quite a lot of dogs in medieval history, but maybe you can raise and issue that you cant choose gender of that doggy Excellent concern raised Chilloutman, if we can't choose the gender of the dog companion then the dog companion shouldn't be in the game. I like the way you think
  18. Welcome, a fellow South African...yaaaaaaaaaay I hope you are active on these forums, I seem to be the only one who posts regularly. I use to live in DBN, in Westville

  20. I ilke that, for me that's a sensible and sensitive way of dealing with the little critters.
  21. Hi GD What is the reason you keep rabbits? For food or just as pets ? Hmmm that question actually has two answers. Let's just say some things changed when Lady GD moved in. Oddly enough she has no qualms about eating the odd wild rabbit I have gotten during hunting season. But it's a lot harder to eat a critter you see every day and have named. For some at least. I hear you, I love eating wild rabbit. Its amazing how many people won't touch it because they see it as a pet
  22. I've just started on Metro Last Light and I'm really enjoying it, I like the artistic interpretation of the post-apocalyptic world and the various factions that exist, like The Reich. I did have some lagging issues that are known about but by disabling Physics its seems to have resolved it
