  1. Also I don't think either person was Trolling, I'm sure Gfted1 was being perfectly serious when he suggested a solution to the problem was more guns ( yes he said it in an indirect way ) We all know that there is very vociferous movement of people, like the NRA, who do believe you will be better protected if everyone has a gun. Is it valid ? I don't know, I just know this. I probably live in the most violent country of anyone on these forums, we have 30-50 murders a day and many of these murders are committed by firearms Despite this apparent threat most of my friends and people I know don't have guns. The reason for this is simple, if you are faced with an armed attacker you need to have excellent reflexes to be able to draw your gun and defend yourself. So take car hijackings, a guy comes to your window with a gun drawn. If you don't put our hands up and immediately get out the car he will open fire. The chance of you being able to draw your weapon is unlikely So even though people may think " having a gun will make you safer " I believe the average person will battle to be able to use their firearm under the type of pressure that violent crime exists and in fact you may end up getting killed while trying to defend yourself just because you now draw a firearm But of course this argument doesn't apply to this newspaper attack because in this case you are going to be killed either way, if you complied with the attackers or not. So I suppose there is a valid point that says " if someone is going to just kill me I may as well try to draw my gun to defend myself " So it really boils down to the type of threat a country faces and when it comes to terrorism or mass shootings we need to look at the whole gun debate in a different way?
  2. No Thats just silly, no one would want that You clearly have the wrong idea about the SJ agenda
  3. No. They are included so manchildren can digitally cuddle and copulate with their digital waifus and stroke egos of bioware's target audience. In case of DA:I - also to attract SJW scum. Good thing Pillars of Eternity refused the idea of romances early on. Thats an extremely negative and spurious view of Romance, in fact I would write it all off as anti-Romance propaganda Romance is a very well liked component of party interaction and adds a different depth to the overall game, plus its always optional Also us promancers are very confident that there will be Romance arcs in PoE2
  4. There is everything wrong with the romances as they are for the most part cringy. Also, BW shouldn't be involved in open world games and they shouldn't in fact let you choose your own team. Those are missed opportunities for some character development, so DA:I; jack of all trades master of none, recycled assets from Origin and as usual the best girl doesn't have romance scene. (It's Harding if you're wondering) Doesn't seem like you understand the purpose of Romance in RPG Orog? They are there to add greater immersive interaction with party members and make the whole RPG journey more memorable...don't be a hater
  5. Yes they were innocent but not to the attackers, they only targeted the newspaper. They didn't just plant bombs to kill anyone and everyone, like we see with other terrorist attacks like the 7 July 2005 London bombings
  6. I agree, we can't live in a world where we can't print certain political cartoons
  7. Come now Gfted1, this is no time to raise the ideological nonsense of the NRA The USA and France face different threats from fundamentalism due to their geography and political views and these threats need to addresses with that difference in mind
  8. Yeah I am watching this story as I write It seems to have been a surgical attack by professionals. Seems to linked to ISIS, according to the French security services they have prevented several attacks recently but this one slipped through. Also this was pointed out that the attackers didn't want to necessarily kill innocents, they targeted people working for the newspaper only
  9. How is that different to real life? Well in RL I'm not worried about mutant birds attacking me from the sky when I walk the streets
  10. Shady nice idea and very generous You need to become more vocal in supporting SJ issues, we need people like you
  11. Yeah the Metro games are excellent. I really think they captured the desperation of a post-apocalyptic world accurately , especially the first one where ammunition is scarce and everytime you go outside you are nervous
  12. That was good thinking, rather err on the side of caution when it comes to these types of health developments
  13. Wowzers that restaurant looks very authentic, I looked at the menu. Not a wide variety but some yummy choices, I like the sirloin cheesesteak sandwich Let us know what you decided to order
  14. All you doing is posting the worst possible depictions of the Kiev government and making it like this represents what the current Kiev leadership and political structures really represent No one actually believes this, well Oby might
  15. Some of the internet personalities surrounding it like Internet Aristocrat have left for various reasons. This has left gamergate with a little less energy, but it's still going pretty strong. It just feels it bit weaker than it used to be IMO. A few gaming websites have improved their ethics policies. A couple of small game projects have been funded. Some charities have been funded. The fighting between GG and the media has created a trolls paradise; while GG can't be entirely blamed for this, it is at least partially responsible. Indirectly, GG has caused the left a lot of problems in the US. It's caused a rift between the libertarian-left and the authoritarian-left that mirrors the rift on the right. This makes a republican victory in 2016 a bit more likely if the republicans run a libertarian-right candidate. To take down Gawker (I single Gawker out because I feel it's the site GG hates the most. Other sites could get by with ethics revisions, but Gawker won't be forgiven.). That is very interesting feedback, thanks for sharing I am particularly interested in the political dichotomy GG may have contributed towards. You mention " It's caused a rift between the libertarian-left and the authoritarian-left that mirrors the rift on the right" Can you explain this further?
  16. "The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians." Spoken by that shining example of humanity, Pat Roberston. Reactionary hysteria is always hilarious, whatever form it takes. I'm personally waiting for the moment when someone claims that water fluoridation is some insidious SJW plot to sterilise straight white males. "I can no longer sit back and allow SJW infiltration, SJW indoctrination, SJW subversion and the international SJW conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids!" So GG has been established for more or less 6 months, it seems like a good time to do a summary of where the movement is, what it has accomplished and what the future holds for GG i know many of you guys do spend time following this movement and updating us on developments so lets analyze the state of GG and of course this is subjective..no one is going to hold you to it What is current state of GG? What changes is GG directly or indirectly responsible for What are the future objectives of GG?
  17. Thats also true, it is possible to tell the truth but to be seen as trolling....and in fact it can be a form of trolling when you tell the truth I sometimes get accused of trolling when all I'm doing is giving a different perspective and people don't like to hear it
  18. I am VERY envious, I have never been to Texas and I desperately want to. I have watched loads of cooking shows about parts of Texas so I would also be eating Texas barbeque every night as well ....have a rack of ribs for me Oh the best BBQ is right here in my home town. Texas has nothing on Memphis on that note. An North Carolina? Please. Someone needs to tell them that a mustard based sauce is an affront to nature! Its interesting because when I watch the various cooking shows about BBQ there are always the same states that come up where you get the best BBQ Texas, Kansas, Tennessee and the Carolinas. It would be interesting to see a BBQ competition between these states but I suppose at this level it comes down to a personal taste. So you will battle to find an agreed on "winner" because they are all winners I just know it all looks good. Meat slowly smoked for 24 hours and different BBQ marinades lovingly applied to brisket and ribs ... and so tender meat just falls off the bones !!! Yummy
  19. There actually no lore issues with female Thor in the Marvel Universe. Mjolnir has the specific legend of "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor." Semantic argument over the lack of gender neutral pronouns in the English language aside, the intent was, and always has been, that whoever was deemed worthy by the enchantment could hold the hammer and be Thor. Hence Beta Ray Bill. The new Thor is a woman who is worthy, and thus has Thor's powers. Thor Odinson has become "unworthy" for unclear reasons. There are already several other female Thor analogs, including Valkyrie, Thor Girl and Thor himself (transformed into a woman as in one of the original legends as I recall). I mean to say this earlier but you made a very relevant and reasonable point, you have given a perfectly logical reason why there should be no issue with a female Thor
  20. No, not from my side as I wouldn't be able to relate to the party interaction that is required for Romance. I always say Romance is basically between humanoid creatures, so to expect Romance between a Centaur and a human would be unrealistic for me ?
  21. Plenty of reasons why people don't. Some don't care about the sport, some don't care about sport and the yokels getting exuberant over it - if you don't care about the subject material, why would you bother cheering or supporting any side ? As I said I wouldn't expect you to watch a sport you don't watch but to not want your country to win is just something I can't relate to
  22. Well you live in a particular country, you are citizen of that country. Don't you automatically just support them in international sports events? Sometimes I wonder how you can have incredibly generalized and oversimplified views like this. People are varied, not all of them care about sports and not all of them think the personal accomplishments of athletes reflect on a country. Some might dislike the personalities of players involved and root against them, others might simply not be proud of their country - do you assume all Ukrainians will root for their "home team"? Quite a lot of people I know get so annoyed with overblown soccer mania every time there is a championship that they actively support the opponents. Even without that, most people I know aren't overly patriotic - it's not like you had a choice in where you were born, after all. Even the ones that are won't just blindly support something. A person can be proud of some things a country has done while not being overly fond of how they are doing now, for example, and in some cases people can even actively hate their country. Oh sure, sometimes there are reasons to not support your country. During Apartheid many people use to support other countries outside of South Africa. But Ukraine is not the same as Canada. Anyway this must be cultural difference, its just normal for me to always support South Africa in sports and every single person I know feels the same
  23. No. Well, some may. But sports? Not really a patriotic thing (where I am). Just a fan-thing. Nope, I don't. That's disappointing, I don't get how or why a person wouldn't support the country they are a citizen of in an international sports event. I get people don't like sports but I don't get the lack of support. And Malc I guess you right, I do still judge people
  24. Thats a good idea, they could add Romance through an expansion/ DLC's And effectively test the waters, the only issue may be normally Romance isn't tied to the plot?
  25. Well you live in a particular country, you are citizen of that country. Don't you automatically just support them in international sports events?
