  1. I'm ****stirring you Bruce. (although I obviously still support those positions) Okay but you could have been serious because my posts do get misunderstood and certain people on these forums I do care what they think about me. You are one of them so I prefer to explain so there is no confusion
  2. @ GD and others You guys realize its Republicans who would be making the whole spurious Rosa Parks analogy....its an insult to your intelligence. They are basically suggesting you guys are rednecks who live in the wild and aren't as informed as " us city folk " This would be a good and understandable time to switch to Democrats and Hilary...no one will judge you Bruce, speaking as a democrat -- albeit with fascist tendencies -- there are Republicans who absolutely get it, and Democrats that are plain morons. The problem with today's political climate in America is that the loud voices tend to drown out those who are willing pragmatists. I personally have no problem with most Republicans I know --hell I'm very good friends and even related to many of them. Unfortunately, good sense has been hijacked by partisan rhetoric and irresponsible governance. Debate is good. Discourse is good. I want good, responsible Republicans and Democrats actually working together to form a working government. I would vote for another Eisenhower or George H.W. Bush. I would've even been tempted by Jon Huntsman had he won the Republican primary in 2012. Yes I know not all Republicans are bad, as I mentioned all the Americans I work with are Republicans. I would never judge a person on the party he supports ....that would be a very myopic way of looking at people For me I judge people on there actual views and actions....for example someone who was a racist or shows homophobia. This " criticism " of mine towards the Republicans is just politics, its not personal. But I do want the Democrats to win as I want the Obama policies to continue as they have been very good for the USA ..so I would love for someone like GD to vote Democrats so he isn't disappointed when they win...I like him
  3. I am technically of native descent. That said that's still obviously a silly solution. There's a bit of a gap between accepting the material consequences of industrial development and Bruce's deliberate downplaying of historical events that still have residual effects today. No Baro you are still misunderstanding me, I use to think it was just people not using there common sense when they kept not understanding me but I know you bright so its obviously me not explaining properly Of course that photo you posted and what the UK did in Australia around slavery was appalling and reprehensible. But I think all slavery the UK was involved in was like that. I thought when I said that you would assume that included Oz By the way I was just teasing Volo when I brought up the superiority of the UK, it would demonstrate a real level of ignorance and hubris if a person said " the UK brought tea to the world and yet gets blamed for Colonialism" ....you can never ignore all the negative consequences of what the early Colonialists did. That is exactly why the Europeans don't exactly go on about there lost empires because we are all aware how they were built on human suffering of others I do believe the West has evolved into the best system of governments and ideology and we do have the happiest citizens in the world. I can understand how you thought I was being serious, I apologize for the misunderstanding

  5. No dude thats not asking for advice ...thats understanding your limitations and is considered a good character trait. Especially in business well the point was that asking a profesional is always better than trying to tangle with something you dont know by yourself Yes you right
  6. I'm sorry another weird person Nothing physical or visual irritates me...but I tend to over-analyze things which can be vexing in its own way
  7. Its good to be different ...I am very different, eccentric actually
  8. Sure, I believe you but I was being honest when I said thats not the normal response
  9. Heretic. That's weird actually ..I try not to sound rude to people on forums but not liking the feeling of paper goes against everything that people say about this topic . People who are traditional readers always prefer the tactile experience of a book but we all use eBooks for convenient sake
  10. No dude thats not asking for advice ...thats understanding your limitations and is considered a good character trait. Especially in business
  11. What annoys me more and, remember I really support SJ causes,is I thought in the beginning she was doing this because she was truly religious and I had sympathy for that But I'm sorry after seeing her marriage record I have now realized she cannot be a person of that much real conviction ...and it annoys me that she delayed the process that long
  12. No offense but thats not really a helpful response...even if true Its like when someone has a drug problem and asks for help and you say " just stop "
  13. @ LN I read your post and I would like to comment, firstly I don't agree with our two friends above. Your situation isn't that bad, you just need to make some decisions and I'll give you the options So lets get the obvious out the way, of course your mom loves you but she is unable to stop being overbearing to the point where its impacting your relationship My parents were divorced when I was 2 but I saw my dad every second weekend. We lived with my mom and she loved us greatly but also spoilt us. I had a very similar issue with my mom, we use to end up just fighting at the end..I couldn't stop getting irritated with her and she would always assume I would mess things up because I often use to get instructions wrong because she would say " don't forget to feed the dogs " Anyway your solution is simple, in order to get your life and relationship with her normal again you need to move out ...that's the best approach. You can't really explain this to her or get her or you to change the current dynamic Yes I understand your financial situation but you can make a plan, you will need to sacrifice a few things but I live in a country where millions of people live in abject poverty. So please don't say " you cannot move out " as I will see this as an excuse. You just plan it and tell your mom..no need to run If you don't move then you cannot get annoyed anymore with your mom. So for me this boils down to a choice about comfort but a happier life ...it may not seem like it but I would advise moving out. Yo will them see how your relationship with your mom will get better
  14. Geez dude I didn't read LN post as its too long but I don't think people really expect that type of honesty
  15. I don't know, I am not that sympathetic to people who make excuses for simply not doing there job
  16. By deflecting the British Empire's treatment of aboriginals to an unrelated topic. You see unlike you I see things in there full extent, I don't just select what is appropriate for my country
  17. They're Australian aboriginals. Yes I know but obviously slavery and photos like that obviously invoke guilt about the UK role which I feel obliged to respond to
  18. Thanks Bruce Of course the practice of slavery was a blight on the European countries and the Americans, no one should deny that Would it make any difference if I mentioned that certain African tribes were complicit and the Arabs were also very active in the slave trade?
  19. Volo my family is from Britain but I was born in SA What I always find interesting is how little credit the UK gets for all it did for the world, we brought civilization to dark continents and exported things like Tea. We created roads and institutions and yet all people remember is "colonialism " ....its like thats all that matters Aren't you thankful to the UK ? Without UK there would be no USA Correct. The funny thing is the British are there own worst enemies and don't like to acknowledge all the good they did in the world ...its like they feel guilty ?
  20. The slave trade is just a minor part of the proud history of the British We don't like to dwell on things that are negative ...remember Canada owes its foundation to the British
  21. Yes they do think they religious..in fact ISIS takes certain parts of the Koran very literally Many Muslims don't consider them Islamic ....I don't know. I just consider them extremists that need to be annihilated
  22. 23. Interesting, I phoned in on this typically black talk show and asked the Talk Show host who I know is very pro black consciousness about that website and why they feel the need to say " I don't like white people " ...she actually knows the two editors who made all these anti-white articles. She actually defended it and said " whats wrong with saying I don't like white people " ...I told her " well how can you say you dont like a whole racial group " Anyway it appeared she is okay to say that. I''ll be continuing to challenge that websites view....I don't care what they think. Racism is racism even if its not the same from black people. I am surprised that there black people who seem so militant but thats fine, I wont take offense
  24. The point is that, as usual, the full weight of the law is falling on this idiot because she's small fish and being open about her reasons. If you are a big shot and smart enough to spread responsibility around with legal gymnastics, you can get away with murder, quite literally. We're all equal under the law, but some are more equal than others, right? To be fair this incident is a bit more significant than just some women She represents one of the last remaining unreasonable resistances to a Supreme Court ruling..its more symbolic And she was given many options and time to abide by the law ?
  25. You right, for me I want to understand how this group of black South Africans could have become so bitter that they seem to believe that white people are still repressing them and treating them like slaves ? Its a failure of our transformation and it disappoints me
