  1. How did you know I was going to ask you if you thought I was a troll.....I was going to ask a similar question but only later But yes I try to come across like you said, obviously at times we all can be a little condescending but I think everyone is like that at times? Okay thanks for the input on Hilary, I wont over analyze peoples comments then
  2. Volo I missed this post earlier but this is a very accurate assessment of Snowden, its more or less what I think I say to people " volo has very good views on certain global events and at times he makes cogent points when he wants to ....he is not a troll " People dont believe me because they are use to the other volo which is where you seem to be inconsistent but its clear you do follow politics so it always surprises me why you dont just stay as this volo?
  3. It's also reminiscent of Marx, Lenin, Stalin and Mao. But mostly Mao for me. http://www.dailypress.net/page/content.detail/id/1226760/Australian-leader-launches-inquiry-into-teen-detainee-abuse.html?isap=1&nav=5048 Hiro I see the abuse of immigrants and non-white people has reached boiling point in Oz .....you guys need to address this. Its getting out of hand....at least the new PM seems to care?
  4. Elerond how are things in Finland? Have you guys had anymore issue around the immigrants ?
  5. Oh my hat that is so weird, I watched The Equalizer a few months ago and I can say it is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It draws you in and when that Russian clean-up person arrives you are captivated ....very good movie and I couldn't remember its name but now I do Have you seen Man on Fire and Fallen ...both very good Denzil movies
  6. Yeah, that seems weird to me because we've had these discussions for years. My big beliefs all line up pretty well with the Libertarian party: 1. Get rid of Patriot Act and its big brother offspring. 2. Stop freaking out about immigration. 3. Gay marriage is cool. Only thing I get nervous about is lack of corporate oversight, but considering they control the government now, I'm not really worried it wil get worse. Hurlshot to be fair to WOD he wasnt coming across as dismissive. You guys sometimes seem to misunderstand each other and I know WOD sometimes says things which concern you but he is consistent in his views. Once you get to know him he isnt a surprise which does count for something
  7. Thanks for the kind words, Bruce. I think humans are individually important, of course. I love my cats and, as living creatures, I believe they are important also. See, some of us Republicans are all soft and mushy inside. However, in terms of having long term notable significance in a broad population sense, we're not. I think that's good. The people who want to tweet can share what they want, as much and as little of their lives, and the people who want to refrain can take solace that they're not 'important' enough for people to intrude into their privacy in a meaningful way. Now, I have to say something about my ill advised bet, which also relates to privacy. First of all, I made the bet. I don't feel bad about it per se other than it was a bit childish. I'm pretty confident that the specific of my bet probably won't happen anyway. I doubt we go into the election with it being literally only 2% in the average of polls and if it does, I'd be so shocked if Trump doesn't win that wearing a dress and calling myself a bitch won't eve register. It's not even the most humiliating wound I will have inflicted on myself. ...And, hell, nothing to establish your cred like cashing out your loss after a bet. It was mostly ill advised because I'm somewhat of a nomad and I'm afraid I won't be around. However, November is so close, only a few months hence, I'll just make sure I keep poking my head in the door. Frankly, no one's taken me up on the bet, so it won't matter anyway. Childish? Not at all, I often take bets in RL. For me a monetary bet is a good way to see if someone really believes what they say And suggesting you even would wear a dress takes guts, I am a big supporter of the LGBT and if I did lose this type of bet I could wear a dress without feeling it was an attack on my manhood but its not often someone is prepared to come to a new forum and make that kind of commitment because most people would be unsure and worried how people may respond ....so it was a refreshing and unexpected post to see Yet as I mentioned earlier you not arrogant or come across as condescending ( this is my issue at times ) You support the Republicans which is not uncommon on this forum but you not prone to hyperbole, like where you can recognize that the media houses are not all completely false or report news disingenuously Sorry to ask you another question but you are new to this forum and you still seem to talk to me ...dont believe what you hear about me, my mother says Im a nice person In your opinion dont you think there is a degree of unnecessary or unreasonable criticism towards Hilary on this thread? I understand some people just dont like her.....but if you look at the last couple of pages it seems extreme ....irrepressible Now of course I may be over sensitive which is possible but I dont think I am? You mentioned you are like a nomad, where would you go to after this and why do you move around forums. Do you prefer not becoming complacent on one place?
  8. And if they work for NSA- whose purpose is to subvert others/ protect US communications/ internet etc- then you'd be right to since their technical security is very good, and has to be very good. If on the other hand they work for Hillary Rodham Clinton or the DNC chances are they're grossly incompetent (but not grossly negligent) rather than elite and their security is very very bad to the extent it barely exists for the former case. sy feeling we get from their suffering will wilt straight away once the secrets in our party start showing up on the front page of newspapers. I frankly think the world has changed in ways that destroy personal privacy. That will undoubtedly be bad. Might be good. Probably a combination of both, but we live in a world where increasingly the only security we have in our privacy is the insignificance of our lives. Once you become a big enough target, people will start shooting at you. This is also the only real defense we little guys have against all manner of cyber crime. If someone really wanted to crack my personal router, they could do it. It's just not worth even a trivial amount of time for any of the people with resources to do it. You have an interesting way of constantly surprising me with some of your views, its fun You definitely are not predictable at the moment, your first post I ever read was where you said you would wear that dress if Trump lost and my initial impression of you was you are a hardcore Trump supporter and there is nothing wrong with that but of course on principle I would have held you to your bet but then I realized I was wrong about you and as GD said no one could hold a new member to such a bet But this post you made now, do you think you insignificant ? In what context do you think you insignificant and whats your view on Gun Control in the USA?
  9. Interesting questions, I am 41 so I voted in the first multiracial election in SA and always vote But I havent done any of the other things ..we are new Democracy so those things arent as established in SA But I dont think I would have an issue with those things ?
  10. Not sure how either of those points is honestly relevant to point " the EU wont become an Islamic nation "
  11. Volo how are you going to feel if Hilary does become president ? Have you considered how you might respond ?
  12. But that would be a silly thing to say because of the history of the EU....its not a Muslim region and never will become one so to even suggest it will become one seems like ...fear mongering ?
  13. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=33773416 I found this link but it doesnt reveal anything that indicts Churchill? What am I missing?
  14. Thats a bit unfair Churchill was instrumental as one of the reasons the UK was able to persevere against the Nazis...lets give him the credit he deserves
  15. I'd be OK with some tax increases if they went to deficit reduction. But you know she's going to spend it all and then some, and leave us in a worse financial situation then even now. Are these apparent tax increases legitimate...its the first time I have heard about it but my knowledge of the American tax system and perceived changes to it is lackingBut you will also end up paying extra money under Trump, for example how is the Trump Wall going to be funded? Use the money they're now spending on supporting illegal children pouring across the border. Okay but I'm not sure if that budget will either be enough or can be utilized to pay for something as controversial as the Trump Wall?
  16. Yeah that was funny, he even went into more detail at the time http://edition.cnn.com/2015/08/04/politics/donald-trump-mexico-wall-pay/index.html And this was after he had really offended basically the whole of Mexico by calling them criminals .....people in Mexico took that seriously and many people were understandably angry
  17. The worlds not sick Oby? We are living in the greatest era of mankind, the solution to most of Russia internal problems is to implement a proper form of Democracy but that would mean Putin probably stepping down and a more progressive person coming to power who doesnt see the West as an enemy
  18. I'd be OK with some tax increases if they went to deficit reduction. But you know she's going to spend it all and then some, and leave us in a worse financial situation then even now. 19. Really? I work with a bunch of lecherous 50 year olds. Tiresome to hear how hot the coffee shop girl is. I mean it is true, but come on. Also I can go into real societal and rationale reasons why going to a strip club has got nothing to do with age but the truth is I was joking with Hurlshot because he often states he has never been to a strip club....you know what he is like, he means well but he tends to think all people should follow his moral code of acceptable behavior So knowing this I made a comment which was exactly what he wouldn't do ....I thought it would be funny, I keep forgetting how my sense of humor is often misunderstood
  20. http://www.citizen.co.za/1226263/all-whites-must-be-hacked-and-killed-eff-candidate/?ref=yfp Just so you guys in the USA dont think you the only country where people make uninformed and irrelevant comments about other races
  21. You must believe it, its true A sense of humour has no age limit
  22. I have heard this before but is it true? Do you have a credible link because I am not sure that was the main reason
  23. I can imagine you have a long list of strip clubs you will be visiting ...you lucky fish
  24. Yes this is huge issue for me and its a blatant inconsistency around the global responsibity countries need to take for there own citizens or in this casre Muslim countries taking responsibity for fellow Muslims Merkel meant well with the initial offer to take in refugees and even though I now think it was a mistake because of how the initial offer was abused Gernany was prepared to help about 1.3 million Syrians...even that was a hugely generous offer But what happened....suddenly it became a free for all and people from countries like Sudan, Iraq and Afghanistan assumed they could come to the EU. This was never the initial agreement and this has put unnecessary social and political pressure on the EU and some of its structures and member countries But this doesnt change the fact I am a huge supporter of Merkel and Germany and there role in the EU. Mistakes will happen but this shouldnt undermine or negate the greater good of the EU
  25. It's because you don't known Russian language. You right, that is a big reason ....I know if I could speak in Russian they would be much more friendly so yes its not the fact they being rude
