  1. Interesting post, nice one
  2. I enjoyed it, I watched to the end and there is definitely something about it that kept me captivated Its not just the alien conspiracy but the other characters themes that are interwoven into the general story. Like the hot Russian blond and what she is up to
  3. I started watching Project Blue Book, its based on true events in the 1950's in the USA where the government started investigating the phenomena of UFO sightings and the mass hysteria that gripped the country The directors of course do add some artistic license into the narrative so there is the " real " hidden UFO presence that each episode unpacks. Its very entertaining and reminds me of X-Files for those that enjoyed that type of genre
  4. Lets ban any anti-Western sentiment and we immediately deport anyone who is not a patriot....problem solved
  5. Today is National Women's Day in South Africa where we celebrate the important role women play in society Its a day of reflection and where we recognize the women in our lives, its a good day for many reasons ....but also because its a public holiday, yaaaaaaaaaaay Thanks ladies for the holiday, you rock
  6. Geez GD, I wouldnt want you to impact and harm your quality of life too much in your well meaning objective of " cutting the umbilical cord of being connected " ... You have clearly made some serious steps in discontinuing DirecTV but now you only have access to pirate bay, live streaming, gaming, online gaming, Hulu, Amazon, HBO and Netflix...Im concerned you are not going to survive by removing yourself from all access to the digital world ....dont be a hater
  7. I am nearing the end of this series and its still brilliant but I have to say Roger Ailes really had some serious mental issues, controversial views and insecurities You talk about creating a toxic work environment, that is if the series is to be believed and from my research its based on the reality
  8. That indeed would be a complicated and deep debate ....one of those debates I enjoy having when Im stoned
  9. I dont buy this notion of a " puppeteer " surreptitiously controlling society, governments are elected through transparent and free and fair elections in most Democracies You make a choice which political party you want to vote for based on there policies and there successful and or reasonable implementation of these policies.....if you dont like your choice then you can vote for someone else Most other things that define our societies are enshrined in Constitutions, the rule of law and order and are impacted by policies that sometimes work and sometimes fail. But there is no great secret or cover-up around how these things work or should work....there are no " puppet masters " unless someone can give me practical examples of who these people and organisations are ?
  10. This week one of brothers and his family is down from Durban, so tonight we all going to this steakhouse that apparently makes delicious ribs..Im very excited as I love ribs and Im always ready to try another recommendation https://www.hussargrill.co.za/find-us/western-cape/mouille-point/ Then I have to work on a tender response which is going to take most of the weekend so I dont see myself doing much except for that
  11. I think the best way to guarantee that quality of life is indeed taxes but not on the rich...thats so ...2010-2016ish and outdated nowadays. We need to find new tax targets You should heavily tax anyone who is in the country illegally, you dont deport anyone but you tax them. That way you will help motivate people to become citizens legally. So its a win win for everyone
  12. I dont know much about Jazz but this looks great, I would definitely buy a ticket for a day
  13. I was at my favorite local bar last night where I generally meet people because I tend to talk to people at the bar and people are really friendly in this area in Cpt Anyway I met a couple who were from the Netherlands, they were on there last day in SA after a 1 month holiday in SA. But what nice people., we really connected and it was not just the copious alcohol. The guy works in spacial planning and once he explained why its relevant in the Netherlands it made such sense, what an interesting career His girlfriend is a journalist and came from a village that has only 200 people, she told me she use to cycle 20 km each day to school She also had the most stunning blue eyes. One of the topics we discussed was " what is considered national food " in our countries. They claimed Netherlands doesnt have a real local food, they mentioned some sort of meatballs...is this true from what you know? What would be considered Dutch authentic food ?
  14. Elerond !!! Stop being naughty ..why you spreading gossip and fear mongering? You cannot refer to these " camps " as " concentration camps " , that's a completely unnecessary characterization of the purpose of these camps and it adds to the problem of how to address reasonable border control because now some people tend to focus on the apparent purpose and conditions of legal interment centers and not the reason they actually exist. We need to refer to them with the correct name., they called detention camps or refugee camps This is not even really about Trump or the USA border but its currently being played out in the USA and Trump has used certain parts of this problem for political expediency and to galvanize his base around issues that ostensibly matter to them. This is about a much broader global issue and quite simply its an important question we need to address and find consensus on...what is the question you may ask? " Do countries have a right to stop and or detain economic and political refugees who arrive illegally on there border , " Opinions will differ, my view is " absolutely yes, " and it should become critical that all countries follow this rule as you will create a very dangerous precedent if the criteria for legal entry is simply " you arrive at the country you want to immigrate do and you just need to come from a valid country that has some sort of economic or social crisis where there are no jobs or sustainable future for the citizens " It cannot be a reasonable objective that any country should feel it has to integrate the failures of other countries problems or issues as far as there own citizens are concerned You must remember what happened in the EU around the initial Syrian refugee offer and what Germany intended as a well meaning gesture? Merkel said " we will take in 1.5 million Syrian refugees" ....thats what she said and what was expected But what actually happened is suddenly millions of people from other countries assumed they could just arrive in the EU and somehow be integrated. This created huge and real problems for the whole EU and it still has not been resolved South Africa faces a similar problem but its impact is must worse for us because we are not a first world country and simply cannot absorb millions of people from failed countries Also the rest of the world when faced with mass immigration doesnt do what is expected from the USA and the EU, other countries setup permanent refugee camps where illegal immigrants can be confined and live safely...but they not just automatically made citizens or accepted because all countries have limited resources and this has to be understood https://africa-facts.org/africas-biggest-refugee-camps/ http://www.refugeecouncilusa.org/the-7-largest-refugee-camps-in-the-world/ https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/middle-east/inside-the-world-s-largest-camp-for-syrian-refugees-1.3018821 So in summary, we must try very hard to not see examples of the conditions of the USA camps as the actual problem. They not, they simply a symptomatic outcome of the real problem. Why are people arriving illegally in certain counties and assuming this means they must be accpeted into that country ?
  15. I went for drinks with a lady friend to celebrate the end of a good week at work and she suggested we go to this new Korean restaurant , it was a really great dining experience because the theme of the restaurant is everything you order comes in relatively small portions but you cook everything yourself on a personal grill in the middle of the table. Also great variety of unusual good, I ordered Zebra and Wildebeest as part of meals http://galbi.co.za/
  16. Geeeeeeez Azdeus, you Swedes are hardcore Capitalists...not everything is about money you know
  17. But you get free coffee, thats a HUGE company perk. Its better than getting money because now you dont have to pay for the coffee
  18. That pizza sounds delicious, you just need to add some meat to enhance its flavor..maybe bacon and or prosciutto?
  19. I have just started watching The Loudest Voice and its excellent, its all about the rise and genesis of Fox News Roger Ailes was a genius, its really fascinating and insightful how he created the Fox News network. He is played by Russell Crowe who as usual is superlative as the media mogul Highly recommended
  20. I would guess you are responding to him for similar reasons I sometimes respond to him, I find his comments to be normally about race-baiting ( intentionally made to upset, vilify and frustrate white people in this case ) and uninformed generalizations or just commentary on something arbitrary which he then formulates as a " conclusion " about a certain perceived reality or outcome For me I sometimes hear this on talk shows and in the SA media where I dont get to ever respond so ktchong becomes symbolic for people and there views I dont normally get to dispute or discuss with I dont expect him to actually respond but I do enjoy being able to comment on what he posts
  21. Hi Gromnir, welcome back. I was wondering where you have been, I have missed your comments and insights
  22. Yes, this post is fundamentally true in the sense Johnson doesn't need or particularly want to negotiate with the EU. He won the Conservative Party nomination by 60%, the UK is a Democracy and we need to respect there Parliamentary system and rules so yes I predict he will guide the UK to leaving the EU with no deal
  23. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-49084605 Now its time to support Boris Johnson so we can finalize BREXIT one way or another, his intention is now to leave the EU by the 30 October which is the extended EU deadline The UK must either leave with no deal or not leave by this date as this uncertainty is destabilizing everything . The UK parliament cannot seem to agree on anything else so now its up to Johnson to make the difficult but necessary decisions Either way there will be both economic and political disruption but if England can win the WC then they can weather this storm....but its time now for decisive action that the well meaning but failed Theresa May approach attempted
  24. I have to say that sounds highly unethical, who pays for the subscription ?
  25. This is a good article and explains your point, thanks for posting
