  1. I watched a movie recently based on a true story about a UK journalist who after WW2 uncovered the mass murder of Polish citizens by the Soviets So Poland was treated incredibly badly by the Nazis and the Soviets and I can both understand and agree why nowadays many Polish people are concerned with the correct, historical representation of the events of history and how Poland was treated by many countries
  2. I remember in 2016. I was an absolute, hardcore Clinton supporter ( I still support her ) and she did indeed represent the continuation of the Obama legacy. I was under the impression that most Americans supported this because of polls and certain feedback from some US friends and family ( to be honest I also didnt exactly listen to dissenting voices I knew or general Republican views ) The global media houses also generally had the same view that Trump was bad and Clinton would definitely win So it wasnt just me and my view which was selective This forum should have been a relevant way to understand this real political dichotomy because most US forum members didnt seem that keen on Clinton for a variety of reasons which I also disagreed with for legitimate reasons at the time Then Trump won which irrevocably shattered how to interpret accurately US traditional ways of voting choice Anyway what I learnt is many Republican supporters will not participate in polls and arent necessarily going to use the mainstream media to openly support Trump. So you cannot assume victory for either party and this is to be expected because I can still see valid reasons I can vote for either candidate ..now if someone who is not a US citizen can possibly vote for either candidate I can understand how being a US citizen and there voting choice can also be undecided
  3. Why would you be surprised by the Republicans possibly winning Florida? Its has a loyal, Republican base in many areas. It also has the Cuban, American community who understandably vote Republican, ask Orog. Dont repeat the same mistake many of us made in 2016 where we assumed " Trump will never win"
  4. But even though the whole " starting off as a prisoner " has become arguably hackneyed and banal it does provide a good way to start off an RPG journey with no items and you need to fight right from the beginning...but you often denied certain items so you need to be cautious so its adds to the excitement IMO Which is why I am still fine with it in most cases ( and I do agree its common....oblivion, witcher 2 , and BG2 spring to mind immediately )
  5. Geez can you think of anything more boring
  6. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2020/10/06/election-2020-fueled-democrats-early-voting-way-up/3623292001/ Some interesting and good news, early voting has seen unprecedented numbers in the USA It must be too early to predict who this benefits but it logically aligns to Biden votes as mostly Democrat supporters believe in this voting option? The good news is it is an example of US voting enthusiasm which is a positive in any Democracy ...voting apathy undermines Democratic societies
  7. Yeah, I was indeed impulsive and made some egregious assumptions
  8. I rushed to buy Coteries assuming it was like other Vampire RPG....I installed it and started playing only to realize its a narrative game.....not a RPG game like Bloodlines I was really annoyed and felt mislead by false marketing......except for the fact Coteries never claimed to a RPG like Bloodlines, I just never read properly what the game was about
  9. Thats fine, Romance is definitely not the main reason I play any RPG Its just a part of party interaction and adds to realism but its not mandatory
  10. Do you serve the wings as a main meal and what do you normally serve with them?
  11. Gorthfuscious !!! Stop being cheeky, you not too old for a good spanking. One of the real problems in our modern societies is the lack of respect young people have for older people who have extensive lived and institutional experience It is incumbent on people in a debate on a typical forum to post links to support there argument, I am not going to do your research for you because I have made my point and it still hasnt changed . But I am more than happy to read what you post around links, sometimes I may not have time and sometimes I miss an opportunity to respond but I generally try to respond and read links
  12. This is such good news, I loved the first season....yaaaaaaaaaaaaay
  13. I was ruminating on what you said as I can understand the real risk which basically is about potential "government overreach " in its objective of ostensibly making society better and more fair. This can have dire consequence for true economic and social growth and sustainability on numerous levels so I share your concerns But we have to separate examples of good and reasonable government policy that will make our societies better from pernicious Government interference in things they need to stay away from So in the example of " who defines mental health and can it be abused " this is a good question but there is a valid answer. Mental health cannot be arbitrarily assigned by any government. This measurement of human function can in almost all cases be decided and indubitably understood by people who have studied the human brain like psychologists and psychiatrists So in other words if society defines someone as " mentally unstable " this is based on science and the neurological understanding and ongoing research into one of the greatest mysteries in existence .." our brains and how they really work " But the point being in almost modern Democracies you can trust medical views that people are bi-polar because they have been accurately diagnosed. So its qualified people only, not governments, that decide this. At the moment I definitely trust the global system of understanding and treating mental illness
  14. Im 46. What I posted is the reality of socialist policies on a countries economy, this is not rhetoric but irrefutable data. I understand you are uncomfortable with the reality of any real success around so called " socialism " but that doesnt change its failures
  15. I know you quoted this from somewhere else but there is a massive difference between your 4 points, which indeed should concern anyone if we experience it like the rise of the Nazis, and wanting to curtail the harmful and insidious influence of well meaning but deeply unsustainable socialist policies You can be opposed to socialism and unreasonable trade union demands but that doesnt mean you support some kind of right wing state In SA we have seen the harm unions and socialist policies can cause, we are addressing it but it takes times. Our Public sector wages bill consumes 30 % of our total taxes !!! Our entire public sector , caused by the unions , somehow negotiated a 3 year double inflation salary increase and they demand bonuses with no KPI ...and trust me parts of our public sector are in an abysmal state https://www.thesouthafrican.com/news/public-sector-wage-bill-south-africa/ Always remember the cardinal rules of all economic policies, " socialism leads to inequality, Capitalism leads to both inequality and growth "
  16. You make a good overall point here but would you agree governments do have a right to determine if a citizen is suffering from some sort of disfunction, like bipolar or dementia that isn't being treated , and then its understandable you would deny them something like gun ownership or being able to work in certain jobs....like a police man So thats one of the few exceptions to your prudent " You dont need to own x " axiom
  17. Tonight for dinner I had couscous, flavored with Beef stock because couscous is amazing to absorb liquids and there taste, and oven baked fish Very healthy
  18. Deporting people definitely is a reasonable outcome for some people and should be considered in certain crimes and circumstances, like all those anti-Western, hate preaching Islamic extremist clerics we use to see in the UK. They have all been arrested, deported or extradited to the USA which people dread for some reason ? But I dont think you can deport Cheong as he is a US citizen by birth?
  19. She is also known as a stalwart supporter of womens rights and she helped improve the reality of women in the USA and that helped with gender equality globally, so no need for too much acrimony as these things matter https://heavy.com/news/2020/09/ruth-bader-ginsburg-rbg-womens-rights/
  20. I have Grim Dawn on Steam and I have yet to play it, this may be the right time as feedback is generally good ?
  21. Now I am confused, are you suggesting Cheong is saying that these brazen, criminal acts were committed by people who have resources and wealth but they doing it because they want to " cow people because of there race " What exactly does that mean when you say " cow people xxxx race" . Im not seeing the corollary between theft and the statement?
  22. I just finished Mass Effect Andromeda and it was indeed a very entertaining gaming experience and scores a solid 65/100 on the globally respected " BruceVC gaming score " system I generally play non-fantasy RPG the same way, I start the main quest and then deviate to complete secondary quests and companion quests until I get restless and then I focus primarily on the main objectives. So I spent 74 hours on ME:A and probably completed overall about 60 % of the total quests Firstly there were no bugs, seriously none. I did use a Mod that addressed unresolved Bioware bugs and I am sure Bioware has worked hard to make the game stable so that was a pleasant experience I thoroughly enjoyed the narrative and the way you explore various planets and make them habitable for civilizations I didnt Romance anyone which was a slight disappointment but I also didnt complete the potential companion Romance arcs for companions like Peebee and Cora but to be honest I wasn't that keen for Romance with either of them so its not a serious criticism And then Frostbite works well, the combat mechanics were exciting and frenetic and so was generally game play . I look forward to future games from Bioware using it
  23. I find these stories both alarming and incredibly frustrating because basically as the articles suggests lawlessness and anarchy get ignored in the interests of political expediency or because police or security " dont want to be seen as racist " when they have a job to do and they should be doing it
  24. Good post and your option 3, F:NV, for any true " sandbox, open-world " RPG is the only reasonable answer around game design and mechanics You take huge risk going into certain areas that have much harder enemies but they can be defeated albeit requiring a certain strategy and or items and your level cant be 8 or more below their level But there are real rewards like rare items and general loot which in all the Fallout games I have played from FO3 onwards has real benefits in the game economy
