  1. wow, that could actually be fun, who's gone farther in the game in that one hour
  2. or you could just be bored out of your mind and with loads of free time
  3. this pic reminds me a little of that movie... with Ryan Gosling, hitting his girlfriend
  4. that's the most reasonable thing to do always. so many games get released every year, no reason to rush methinks
  5. ahaha, QFT!
  6. truly the human stupidity is infinite ugh, isn't the whole purpose of an indie band not to live off music but to make it in their free time and distribute as wide as possible making most of their "music" money off tours?
  7. I find it funny that Hawke doesn't think it's necessary to wash his face before laying with somebody he presumably cares for. gah, the middle ages were surely the darkest time of human history
  8. ugh, I don't like the design, the art direction. the armor pieces look awful I don't thing I'd be able to play through the whole game having to look at those models
  9. it seems I didn't understand the meaning behind "DRM" the first time. can't you play steam games in offline mode? or do you mean that you can't even install them without logging into steam?
  10. more like delusional
  11. that's my point
  12. oh by the way, while we're on the subject. In Russia it is (at least it was 2-3 years ago) very popular among internet service providers to keep a dedicated server with pirated games and movies as a part of a package for its clients. there are literally thousands of terabites of illegal content. and any given user doesn't even have to download anything, you just click the play button and watch any movie you want. it's a little different with games of course. so, let's take a pirate radio station for example. does listening to it make you an accomplice (if it plays unlicensed music or whatever)? does it mean you can be punished just like the ones distributing it? that you deserve the same sentence? I don't know. there are so many little things and nuances about the legal side of it I really don't understand how some people can be so blunt about it.
  13. the point isn't how many times a game gets cracked, but how many actual sales were lost due to that. since there's no way of telling, might as well drop the subject. that's my view of it anyway
  14. oh? Valve must be really good at concealing it, because I never notice. that's exactly why it could actually work
  15. yeah, they should be looking for ways to prevent it, Steam is a good example. not only because of digital distribution, but mostly thanks to achievements, friend lists etc.
  16. that's true. but the game still shouldn't take more than 3 hours to complete even on the first try. it's still not a long game by any standards.
  17. I think there's a 15-minute speed run of Half-Life. it's a pretty short game, that's the part of the reason it's so good
  18. well, we don't really know whether it does or doesn't. that's what bothers me about the publishers' position on piracy. they can't ever prove it does considerable damage, yet they want people to go to jail for it. doesn't make sense. I don't think fighting piracy should involve anything other then taking down sites and uploads.
  19. yeah, his logic is a bit off. but he does make some valid points

  21. it actually makes sense. nobody in his right mind would buy it but would at least try it out and see if it was actually as bad as everyone had made it sound. are they allowed to do that by the way? because that would be one way of dealing with some pirates. make them at least consider before downloading and installing something on a home PC
  22. I'm not saying people downloading shouldn't be charged with anything. it's just a lot different from actually cracking and uploading and shouldn't be tossed in the same basket. there's actually a pretty big process going on in Moscow at the moment. a recording company has charged a student with stealing and he's facing up to 6 years in prison for providing links to 18 licensed tracks on a social site. it's a big fuss because he's definitely not the only person doing that, and a lot of people think going after him and not the site's administration is wrong.
  23. ugh, that's tough
  24. but it is
  25. I dunno, what would you call a person who bought a stolen phone from someone for 1/10 of the actual price? surely not a thief? what if he got that phone as a gift from his friend who bought it from a person who in his turn got it from the thief? what do you call him then? because this happens all the time at pawn shops and whatnot by the way, you can start a thread about Killzone 3 now, too (42 GB? my god, why would anyone even consider downloading it)
