  1. so it does have multiple endings, cool
  2. hah, this is getting ridiculous. I don't know what it is if not a publicity stunt. seriously, what the hell are they thinking?
  3. those are two different kinds of "ironic"
  4. I couldn't care less about multiplayer (though I have to admit, it seems like an ideal game for couch co-op, because the only person I play games with on my PS2 hates long games). I want endless dungeons and tedious fights in my crawlers. 12 to 20 hours is a bit of a let down
  5. it's not an RPG, it's a dungeon romp though dungeon romps should be even longer than RPGs. 12 hours with every sidequest. hmmm, not sure what effect the designers wanted to achieve
  6. meh, his head is so far up his butt, he can't see the obvious.
  7. by then you should already have 3 slots for mana bottles, and the grunts tend to drop those fairly often. just move around the arena and take full advantage of your skills but it's interesting to see what ending you'll get. mine was:
  8. you can one-shot enemies if your companion boosts you (attacking magic can be used to boost your damage instead of hurting enemies, you need to hold the magic key intead of tapping it), Caddock would charge me up before every tough encounter. that and your skills (if you're playing as Elara) are devastating, if you use the Crit hit arrow (don't remember how the skill exactly works), it only takes 2-3 arrows to kill a minotaur.
  9. only 15 USD here, gonna buy it this week
  10. oh, missed a question mark there we'll be back at square one in that case, only with a much bigger infrastructure compared to the 80s, I believe it will actually benefit the gamer/developer
  11. it isn't?
  12. you get bashed for singing praise to Herve Caen's Interplay
  13. Jensen looks exactly like my version of Thorton... anyway, enough of this DX love fest thing, won't change my opinion, and I don't have any intention of changing anybody's mind either. let's just say DX hasn't aged very well. it reminds me a lot of Citizen Kane. which is a terrible movie, but widely considered to be the best in the history of cinema
  14. not at all it just looks like DX is loved in spite of its shortcomings, which is somewhat amuzing
  15. do I sound like I can't live with it?
  16. of course I can't, these elements somehow make the gas station a brilliantly designed area? trust me, you can if you're careful enough (at least in the first chapter) oh, and chocolate bars restore energy. oh, and you can hide the body after you take a guard out
  17. like I said, I can appreciate the idea. but the camera work, the actors, and direction, ugh... although the cameraman is the least guilty in this case. I'm just spoiled, I watch 1500-2000 movies a year, and they're good movies too. not sure what's the expression for it in English, some things just stick out now
  18. how the idea was implemented. everything is bad, even for a commercial. btw we're way past the thread limit
  19. never played the original, spent some time with Darksun 2, loved the combat
  20. riiight anyway, disliking something isn't indicative of poor taste
  21. a-hem anyway, the scoped dart gun is silent, and you don't even need that most of the time, it's very easy to crouch behind enemies and take them out one by one with your bare hands DX's levels are friggin' awful. the gas station, french catacombs, liberty island... ugh! make me unsee it! huge areas, barely populated, single entry point, I don't think it's one of the game's strengths. the only actually good level was the last one where you had three different objectives and a number of secondary objectives. I admit, that one was awesome well, the grunts in Opposing Force are a lot better than anything in DX I watched a very thorough let's play, 1000+ minutes of gameplay back to back. of course it doesn't substitute the actual experience from playing the game, but I think I can draw some conclusions it's not "better", or "worse". it's different. it's not a regular shooter, I'll give you that. I still find HL a lot better in many ways. though DX did do something good (like I already said), the skill system looks pretty neat. the only game remotely similar to DX I've played was Shadowrun on the Genesis. and boy that game did a lot of things better. not to say DX is worse, but it could use a couple of elements from SR. in its current state DX isn't for me
  22. yeah, I guess commercials and trailers serve different purposes so shouldn't be compared. still, the fact that it's a commercial makes it even worse. it gets the point across (DS3 is a perfect game to play with your friend), but the thought alone of seeing it multiple times throughout the day is unbearable
  23. you can take down everyone without being seen, you'll get 5x times the exp AND the smooth operator/whatever bonus
  24. I think DS3's video with two guys running and jumping in the park is a lot worse, than that trailer
  25. point is, I can take down everyone in the area and get 5x more xp, which is a serious problem imho
