  1. Where does it stop? Now that they know Obsidian will cave when confronted, what will they want when they come for the mile? Obsidian already gave them the inch. That is the problem. You say you are worried about the games. This WILL affect the games.
  2. Not when you can keep finding examples of this same type of speech. The Internet keeps all. Nothing is hidden.
  3. Wrong unfortunately. It should be, "A joke was made, someone got offended. Obsidian laughed and kept working on their patch." What is unreasonable is that they even looked at it. There was no need, nothing was wrong in the first place.
  4. Grrrr... I shouldn't have to mod this in the game... This is ridiculous.
  5. I hate to say this but it really doesn't make me want to play the game I backed anymore. Or any of them. I get you, Darkeus. I can't really comment on the actual argument itself, but I would just say this: if you enjoyed the game before you heard about the whole limerick issue, what difference will it really make? I'm not siding with anyone. I don't feel it's responsible as a moderator, even though I'm not employed by Obsdian. After all, when I volunteered, I accepted a certain standard and, unless it's a matter of principle, I'm going to keep my political opinions out of it. So, non politically, all I'm saying is that the person who lodged the complain would have scored two victories if she managed to impact the game *and* destroyed your enjoyment of it. The optional text staying the same or not has virtually no impact on the product as a game. If you like it, play it and think of it as a big raspberry to the person who lodged the complaint. ...and then mod the limerick back in if you so choose. :Cant's Dutch uncle icon: I meant no offense to the Dutch with that icon. The problem is, now they have taken their inch. Soon they will want their mile from Obsidian and it is coming from their ass. They just don't realize what they have done to their company. Now one side is mad and will boycott. They other side get a victory and helps to finish off Obsidian. Nobody wins and the industry is WORSE for it. There was no problem with the limmerick. It is the principle of the matter. As many have said, a Japanese Developer would have laughed them off Twitter. But no, Obsidian caves at the first sign of trouble? Spineless. And how can I support a developer that is spineless? A developer I love. Then again, I dumped Bioware for less...
  6. Oh please.... OH so joking is okay? Taunting is okay?? Hypocrite....
  7. Wrong: Feminist Frequency member called for such a boycott. But hey... have fun we now life in a world in which people can censor and mute other people through twitter because they do not like things. And you know what. It is really funny that a pizzeria in Indiana who got threaten by these people know has raised almost 1 million to support them. Talk about backlash. If it's true that "we now live in a world in which people can censor and mute other people through twitter" then how is... this... still a thing? Surely the dreaded SJWs would've silenced the whole lot of you by now through their nefarious machinations/prodigious Twitter use. They are not done yet. Look at the post above mine, This is who you support. Feel good?
  8. ??? but I bought it a year ago? and I'm sure many other "sjw" people also bought it and maybe even backed it during the original kickstarter campaign. and even more people will buy the game now that they know Obsidian listens to their fans. You are just part of the problem in the industry. You didn't do anything special except the industry worse....
  9. They didn't need to talk to the Devs. There was nothing wrong with the content to begin with. So no the Social Warriors started it, as usual...
  10. I hate to say this but it really doesn't make me want to play the game I backed anymore. Or any of them.
  11. What a shame. I didn't know being close to bankruptcy also took your guts away.... I am not mad, just very disappointed. You gave them the inch Obsidian. Don't come complaining when they come back to take the Mile out of your ass....
  12. I am and have been neutral on them. Some are pretty good, some are not.
  13. But now we don't know WHEN! Will it be in the next 5 minutes? The next 10 minutes?! Every second that goes by, I'm forced to wonder, "Could this be the second that the patch arrives?! WHAT IF I MISSED IT ALREADY ZOMG!!!11!11!1oneonewonwon11!" Ok, so for some reason, as this topic has gone on, a narrative is starting to develop of anyone asking for better communication as being hyper impatient, totally unreasonable and demanding. I think I was pretty reasonable and I find it incredible that we went from a civil discussion of communication issues to "freaking out". Let's all put down out internet snarkyness for a moment and try and be civil ok? Thanks to the dev for the update, confirming it's still planned for this week; for taking on board the suggestions and that you to the poster who provided the link to the dev tracker, which was something I asked about in my first post. If I could add the following; it would be good if updates were through the main forum instead of the bug forum, for spoiler reasons. Cheers. There is a point when it is freaking out. We are all gamers here and we know patches need time. Did you want a patch to come out that broke more than it fixed? Of course not, you would be back on here complaining. It has been a week since release. To have a patch out tomorrow like they are planning on doing is pretty dang good. So yeah, it is freaking out. I could see being concerned if we had not heard anything for a month like say, Evolve.... Nah, it was less than a week they were communicating. So come off of it. No one was being snarky.
  14. And I like DA: I. It is not the best game Bioware has put out but I do enjoy it. I have just come to terms that the Bioware that used to be is probably not coming back. So I just kind of accept what they make now and look to other devs like Obsidian and Larian to fill the gap. I was a huge fan of the Bioware formula though for a while. But it is just not the same company. The Doctors are gone, the old talent is gone. It remains to be seen if they will be next in line of a long list of dev houses taken out back and shot by EA in the future.
  15. ****ers donated all the ME3 cakes the fans sent to Bioware as part of the retake campaign because of the most terrible last 5 minutes to a game whatsoever (and the intro to ME3 is just as bad IMO), but they sure could spare these cookies to show their envy to obsidian :D YOU ARE NOT FOOLING ANYONE BIOWARE, all your good old devs have bailed your company, specially the man behind the company itself, Drew Karpyshyn. Bioware is but a shadow of what it once was, EA has taken the lead into mainstreamness. Cdprojekt Red, Obsidian and Bethesda are now the kings of the hill... FEAR ME I know, I was not part of the people who sent cupcakes. But I was part of that "Mass Effect 3 sucks" and the Demand A Better Ending group.
  16. I got the Enhanced Editions of BG1 and 2 on cheap sales so they cost me as much as what the GoG version cost so I can't speak on that. I used to own Baldur's Gate on the original CD's but I lost it in a move somehow. I own all the other ones (IWD IWD2, NWN, NWN2)
  17. The problem with Metacritc and the User Reviews is that you have the silly practice of people rating things a zero, which is just stupid. There are not many Zero games out there at all. And to counteract that, the people who like the game give it Nines and Tens. Nothing is a ten.... PoE is close but not a ten. It damn sure is not a zero either. But the point is, the user scores become worthless because nobody scores objectively. It is just tens and zeroes mostly. An average that is not....
