  1. The unfortunate thing is that metacritic uses the destructoid review.
  2. I just turn it off because I think it's unfun. Especially since a lot of the fun I have is actually using the airport.
  3. REminds me of JA 1.13 and the lame Drassen Counterattack (best cut from a game ever). Basically I end up exploiting bad AI and shooting them all as they come into my doorway.
  4. Flashbanks of the Boneyard....
  5. This isn't the case with the consoles. I bought several new games the past year and my 360 was no where near an internet connection at any point. Most games don't require you to ever log into XBOX Live (I assume the same goes for the PSN)
  6. I am skeptical that bad review scores came about due to bribes.
  7. It's become more funny now than anything. What I find most interesting is that, at the beginning of the thread, the probability of the woman in the original post winning 4 lotteries was so tiny that it had to be due to either a scam, or supernatural force. By the end of the thread, the probability of the woman winning 4 lotteries has become 1, because she has won those lotteries.
  8. I wonder if the lesser notoriety of Fallout contributes to that. In that the impression I often get is that Fallout fans feel... insecure (that's not the right word), and compensate for the relative lack of exposure their immaculate franchise receives in attempts to legitimize their franchises among others.
  9. These types of metrics between University's actually exist? Which school did you go to?
  10. I think to some, combat is considered a staple of what it means to be an RPG. You'll find no real consensus on the definition
  11. I have always found BioWare's games to be combat heavier than they needed to be.
  12. The game was a ton of fun. A friend of mine gifted me UT2K3 over Steam just so we could play Alien Swarm.
  13. Been a while since I last played it. There are various weapons and finite inventory space, so you need to diversify your squad to effectively deal with situations. With friendly fire also being on, it was definitely a challenge. For instance I used the shotgun which was super powerful at close range, and piercing, and I frequently would blow away my teammates if I wasn't careful
  14. Wasn't the discussion always regarding your claim that if the probability of something is low enough, it is impossible for it to happen?
  15. The game had a story, which was entertaining enough. Each mission had particular objectives to achieve, and it was 4 player co-op awesomeness.
  16. I am definitely not insured against getting robbed. Even if I did, I'd probably put a deductible on it that would minimize my premium. Maybe it's more crazy in Europe, but whenever I have issues with my accounts being blocked or compromised, I've always been able to get it back. /shrug
  17. Yes and it was loads of fun. And ****ing hard.
  18. I find cash much too risky. Lose that and I'm without recourse. Lose my credit card or have the account compromised, and I'm protected against fraudulent use of it and have a new one provided to me. This service is provided to me, free, by my credit card company. To be clear: 100% protection from fraudulent use.
  19. There was a fun board game that had the unique characters (as heroes). I could see them doing something with hero characters and whatnot.
  20. She won it twice on the same day. The odds of this happening are roughly 1 in 23 trillion.
  21. A scam from 2002: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/805438/posts Oh wait, I mean supernatural phenomenon right?
  22. I can understand the confusion since you did point out that one predated the other in response to her post.
