  1. Cool beans thanks
  2. I haven't seen it here yet. How do I enable hardcore mode?
  3. Steam (and Steamworks) must benefit developers in some way because they opt-in to use the service (when they could simply just use steam as a distribution method which they are allowed to do).
  4. I do love my PC BFBC2 and all the bells and whistles it comes with compared to the fugly console versions.
  5. I consider "pc gaming" to be games that are made exclusively for PC first, and not made either in tandem or ported to the pc's from consoles. If that's your metric you could probably make arguments that "XBOX Gaming" or "PS3 Gaming" is dying too.
  6. With those accents you can do the VO for the SW characters no problem (you just KNOW there's gonna be some English accents in there hahaha)
  7. I have 3 close friends interested and each of us wanted to play one of the 4 sith classes. It worked out that each of us had a class we were interested in (Sith Warrior for me) so we'll have 1 of each in our group.
  8. Preordered and preloaded off of steam
  9. Apparently you get some control of movement within that tube.. as well as the shooting... And that sligth movement is why Bio are saying it's not strictly speaking a "rail-shooter"... Basically, it sounds like a similar style of "brief, arcadey" mini-game that was in Kotor as the turret shooter. Not as something to take the place of the "proper" playing, but a short break from it... Did none of you guys play games like Starfox or Afterburner? I am not sure why people have such a hard time understanding exactly what the space sequences are in TOR.
  10. I don't know if TOR will beat WoW (I doubt it), but I suspect it'll be a huge game.
  11. Warhammer is a huge ripoff of Starcraft. Look at those Space Marines!
  12. Most MMO's charge a subscription to let you play the game in any capacity. You have full* access to the game and you can start over with new characters and so forth. Characters also stay around while you are not subscribed, so if you return years later (in WoW's case anyway) your characters are still there. If you can play through all the characters classes in one month, you'll not have to pay for any additional months to experience the single player game (assuming there isn't meaningful divergence which I don't think will happen too much unfortunately). *One note is that in WoW (the one I am most familiar with), there are usually restrictions on the total number of characters you can have on any one server. This number is pretty high though (10 or so) and doesn't preclude you from playing on a different server. At least in my experiences with WoW. EDIT: Hurlshotted
  13. If you ignore the last two maybe..
  14. I actually enjoyed the story of TFU (while I felt the game sucked). An interesting way to link the events between EP 3 and 4 IMO.
  15. @sorophx You want BioWare to be an iPhone game dev? @Tale This is actually about a pre-order that upgrades you to the collectors edition 2 months before release. I suspect the Signature edition will always have the pre-order bonuses. You just will have to pay extra for the pre-order bonuses in the form of buying the signature edition over the regular edition.
  16. Actually it's in closed beta now. http://swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=109426 Post from the Devs on the official forums. Spring 2011 is getting close. That post is from January this year though. Given that things are so low on the radar for public testing, I wouldn't be surprised if it slips past Spring 2011. The unique feature is the incorporation of a storyline and a more player-story focused experience. It may work, it may not. I don't know. I think if there's a lot of content, it will work.
  17. For a lot of people they actually are. There's people that go off and hide in corners to kill each other in FPS games. Called "boosting" IIRC.
  18. I don't at all disagree that the DLCs are there to help sell the product. Particularly the free ones. The free ones are pretty explicit about being an attempt to marginalize used game sales. I am disappointed that the free bonus character requires a preorder before a certain date
  19. I enjoyed the rock paper shotgun articles: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/10/14...-paper-shotgun/ http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/10/15...ves-from-valve/
  20. The Day One DLC for Dragon Age also included a bonus playable character too. THough that didn't require a special edition.
  21. A toolset is something new in the world of computer games? I won't dispute that NWN was a more ambitious project than BG2 was, though BG2 was a significantly better game.
  22. That's fine. But Harlequin's posting style doesn't belie his intentions. If this wasn't BioWare's MMO I'm skeptical he'd have ever bothered. For someone that doesn't seem to care, he has a funny way of showing it. But the, I always enjoy the people that say they couldn't care less about something
  23. So I am not spunking in my pants over this MMO and simply posting somewhat bitter pill news from a *gasp* news site makes me a big meanie? I'd suggest its you with the vested interest in the game that clearly has the issue with only wanting sunshine and roses to be discussed. Sorry to disappoint. *shrugs* its only a game. One that you claimed to not care at all about. But just doing your civic duty and letting the rest of us know, right? DeathDealer = Win. You're a very sensitive person Mr. Harlequin.
  24. I think there's been some integration of Mythic into the TOR project (Louse mentions this as well), but some of the details he is probably just raging on about.
  25. I like how the one place artists can express themselves in an MMO is with /dance haha.
