Bioshock to get big scren treatment
I got enjoyment out of it...and I didn't even know it was based on a game the first time I saw it

Bioshock to get big scren treatment
If not that, a lot of computer effects placed on sets in editing. Even though I don't find it necessary to make a game based on Bioshock, I'd gladly go see it, for curiosities, sake.

New Fallout 3 screens
I agree about the main theme. It's just too grandiose for Fallout. Wasteland could be toned down maybe a tad, but Megaton was ok... I wish they could have gotten Morgan to do the music

Quick BG2 question
Aren't level 21 clerics (multiclass too?) supposed to get a ring or something depending on their alignment?

Bioware - Are Their Games Actually That Good?
I don't remember where I stopped reading this thread nor where it went from 'Does BIO make good games' to a discussion solely on achievements, but I'd just like to add that I find the idea of achievements dumb. Thank you, that is all

Bioware sold out
Bioware "sold out" when they went with EA. This is probably 'encouraged' by EA as well.

Yay! So I finally picked up NWN2 + MotB
Just realized something that takes the game down a notch. Stealth is pretty much worthless. Here's why: What a stupid design decision and great waste of potential, Obs

So far I'm really liking this game, bugs and awful AI aside. The characters, quests, and story is enough to keep me playing. That's the bad thing, though. It's doing bad things to me...I'm staying up til 3 am playing like I haven't since....uh...Morrowind I think. I've got to stop! Good job so far Obs! Hope it doesn't fall through the floor like KotORII at the end. Can't wait to get to MotB, as I've heard it's stellar.

I believe that basically noone knows anything. Obsidian is working on implementing the DRM thing into a patch, but we don't know whether it will make it in 1.13 (which shouldn't be much longer I think) or a later one. Would be nice if they could replace the patch mess with just one integrated patch in Westgate. I just tried reinstalling NWN 2 and mask of the betrayer. Apparently you have to do that in a special order, I upgraded after installing NWN, then installed Mask and autoupdated some more. The camera improvements aren't there, but the game version looks correct. Why no one thought of using the right mouse button to pan the camera is beyond me. Instead there is a useless drop down menu, but thats another matter. You can assign the right mouse button to pan the camera, I think. Its default is X, though. I just wish you could lock the vertical angle.

Nevermind, I figured it out. Just had to exit the game and re load

GTA IV gets a perfect 10 at IGN
By itself that's a pretty disturbing statement.

Baldur's Gate
Are you using Tutu? The spawns seemed to go insane with it for some reason.

I just hit a pretty serious bug: What should I do?

If that's the case, then that's bad design. Why even have the option there if you can't possibly accomplish it? Keep the dialog option, but get rid of the dum [skill] descriptor. Anyway, I think I accomplished what I set out to do. I'm working on several builds, one of them is a dexterity-based fighter. Took one level of rogue and able learner to get all the dialog skills, plus the added bonus of UMD (great for a fighter!) and the ability to add 1d6 to a bunch of your attacks Next issue: Party AI/Control I turned on puppet mode in hopes of getting an experience more akin to IE games, and less like the dumb NWN1 AI (not improved at all). It all worked great until I went into battle with some bandits. I had my party focus on the archers first, so i've got two characters deep in the fray, while the third is lobbing arrows. Well, my archer needs a drink so I select her had us a potion. I unpause and what happens? The other two characters coming charging after me, provoking AoOs = dead party. This has happened several times with several characters...what "interesting" design "choices."

The Battlestar Galactica Thread
Wait, I just thought of something. Has the Dualla character been written off the show? I don't remember seeing her this season other than when she said goodbye to Apollo...or is my memory playing tricks on me?

I caught that too. All along the watchtower, indeed. Also notice that none of the other 4 heard the music either after they left the nebula.

All dialog is initiated with the PC. Companions only interject, at least from what I've seen. So any companion with speech skills is useless. Everyone else: I set up a ranger with a 14 cha, background, and a few feats to allow for maximum dialog skills without nerfing the character, but I still seem to fail most of the checks. Are the skill checks arbitrary, or do you actually roll a D20? Because it seems as though someone who has those as class skills and maxes them out are the only ones who can really make use of the skills. It's just dumb design (not NWN2, but the ruleset) to disallow fighter characters these option based on a faulty premise. I found a bit of a cheap work around, though. Simply take able learner and one level of rogue, and voila, all dialog skills are open. It shouldn't be necessary, but there you go. And samm, druids do get persuasion, so rangers can max out those skills, where a straight ranger cannot.

The Battlestar Galactica Thread
Really? The could have condensed the last 3 episodes into two to move things along a bit quicker. After a REALLY great start, it's slowed down terribly. Sure there's lot's of tension and dramatic build up, but something really needs to happen...which I think will next episode. BSG has never been about space battles and heavy action. It's about character development. And we've been very well served so far in season 4. I never mentioned space battles or heavy action. And you're telling me that if this is the way the rest of the series played out, you'd be happy?

Yeah, I didn't like NWN1's camera in that sense. It really hampered ranged combat due to the lack of visual range. The free roam camera takes care of that. Also, two quick questions: 1. Can you talk to your companions like in NWN1, or was it modified to work more like Kotor? If I can talk to them, how? 2. This may sound lame, but what are the console commands for increasing your dialog related skills? I hate that not everyone can have access to all dialog options because of some arbitrary class stereotype that says my fighter can't talk his way out of a paper bag, even with a high INT and CHA. I also don't have the time to go through the game multiple times just to unlock all the dialog options.

I've not used the character camera mode. What's the point? I really like the top down view with the free roaming camera. I just wish I could fix the vertical position somehow.

Yep, it actually worked! Woo hoo! After about an hour of getting a handle on the camera controls, I'm well into the first chapter. The only thing that really bugs, me, though is the fact that it still has that same 'clunk' feel that NWN has. An Aurora engine trait, I guess. No getting away from it. So far it seems like such solid title compared to its predecessor. I never knew there were this many classes! I mean, hell, they had a sorcerer for mages, then they add a similar class for both druids and clerics. I may have to give those a try. I just picked a ranger to really play test it though. We'll see tomorrow...
