You're contradicting what, exactly? I already asked for more robust, modular AI in the post you quoted.

Sawyer isn't working on Tyranny and he hasn't mentioned reducing party size as part of the plans for a sequel. I don't think the PoE IP will go in that direction, regardless of his personal feelings. Personally, I do enjoy a 6-man party quite a lot, though I can see where they are going when they talk about chaos on the battlefield. I personally imagine a slower combat pace, more robust modular AI, and a cleaner interface and spell effects (the latter was already introduced in Tyranny) should be enough to solve the original game's problems in that sense.

Pretty boys with crazy hair styles and melodrama have been a mainstay of the series for as long as they had the ability to render that. I'd honestly even shove many of the beloved pre-7 titles in that same category. Personally, I find that kind of excessive cheesy with larger than life melodramatic stories delivered in hammy ways pretty entertaining, it's a not-so-guilty pleasure of mine, but I don't understand why anyone would indulge into the games if they hated that sort of stuff.

Why are you even considering buying a Final Fantasy game then?

They have a dev diary on that stuff but the short answer is: levels are still in. Long answer:

Look at the page. It plainly states that the application fee hasn't been paid yet. This *is* low-level trolling.

Hardcopy vs Steam vs GoG?
WorstUsernameEver replied to SirMirrorcoat's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
If you didn't get a backer copy of the game, the DVD sold at stores include the Steam version, so the patches would be up to date. GOG gets patches a little later and doesn't get the betas, but it does look like the game won't be getting as much support now and most of the devs have moved to other projects, so that's not as much of a problem anymore. Both GOG and Steam use the same build, as far as I know, so there shouldn't be problems connected to unique bugs or whatever. It's just down to your preferences and whether you care about DRM-free copies or not. -
I worked on this one so I'm obviously biased, but I think people here might be interested in GameBanshee's interview with game director Brian Heins.

Well, the novella is part of one of the packages that are sold on GOG, so I personally *would* care if you can't obtain it from there. It's not necessarily something that might impede kloperius, but other people who purchased the game on GOG (and the version that includes the novella is pretty expensive) might well care.

Ah, I got it. The twist is that Barik is actually Kana Rua.

NON-Obsidian South Park RPG Sequel Announced!
WorstUsernameEver replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
As far as I know, people who pre-purchased the new one are already playing the Stick of Truth ports. Obsidian even got a bunch of bug fix requests on Twitter, even though they had nothing to do with it. -
They haven't narrowed it down, but they said the game is coming this year ever since it was announced.
-
Don't understand their marketing strategy at all. If the game is coming out this year, then this sounds like a good time to start showing actual gameplay in more than 10-15 seconds snippets of footage.

Torment: Tides of Numenera switched from Unity 4 to Unity 5 during development. It's not unheard of. Obviously it's something you want to do closer to the start of development than the middle or the end, though.
-
I don't think they ever mentioned the engine version, only that they're using Unity and the stuff they built for Pillars of Eternity? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Rarely have I seen a fake as bad as that.

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear RELEASED
WorstUsernameEver replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
Oh, I understand this point of view. I wasn't *impressed* by Siege of Dragonspear's writing, but I also have a tremendous amount of respect for the kind of challenges the team was going through. They had to keep very close to the tone of the originals, and also try to respect the lore developed throughout various editions of D&D and various games, which could also be contradictory. Without delving into spoilers, my biggest disappointment with the expansion was actually the aspect Chris Avellone praised: the antagonist. I just felt like she was sketched too broadly and that her characterization never matched the grandiose tale about her relayed in the game. The minor side quests, on the other hand, felt right out of a semi-drunken D&D campaign and were tremendously enjoyable from that perspective, even though thematically they felt all over at the place and surface-deep. -
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt [2015]
WorstUsernameEver replied to Rosbjerg's topic in Computer and Console
Grimdark *would* be a differentiation from the main game, which is very colorful most of the time. Not that I'd want them to go in that direction, though. -
Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear RELEASED
WorstUsernameEver replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
I noticed some of it. They definitely give you options to use your race/class/companions in conversations, though they don't always work. It's still roughly the same core gameplay as BG1 and 2, but I think they pushed for a more pen and paper-like experience and it paid off. -
Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear RELEASED
WorstUsernameEver replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
Kind of like the original, then? EDIT: I know this sounds super-edgy, so let me clarify: I immensely loved the original Baldur's Gate when I was a teen. In retrospect, though, I think the writing in the original Baldur's Gate is simply *awkward*, and while some of the intrigue and build-up to the Iron Throne is good, it falls apart as a bundle of fantasy clichés barely held together by cute one-liners. For all my complaints about them, both Siege of Dragonspear and Baldur's Gate II improved on Baldur's Gate 1 immensely.
