  1. "What's the dumbest thing you ever did as a kid?" "Wished I was an adult."
  2. I enjoyed a lot of season 2, added more flesh to the universe so to speak. It's interesting to see the fallout from how they mashed certain characters from the books together in season 1 and changed things for a different media format.
  3. I've actually got this week off of work. Planning to actually sit down and wrap up the group of Assassin's Creed games I haven't actually finished yet - Syndicate, Origins, and Odyssey. They've been lurking there basically halfway done and I've got to see how they look on the upgraded machine now...
  4. A Monday. Ugh. A bank holiday. Yay. A headache. Ugh. But, some paracetamol, plenty of tea, the soundtrack to the 90's Three Musketeers (Bryan Adams, Sting, and Rod Stewart) and assorted other Dumas film adaption scores whilst skim reading the Honor Harrington series. Since this morning I've gone through books 1-4. Now making a stir fry from the leftover chicken from yesterday and finally turned on the pc to check the assorted mail, world news and suchlike.
  5. As we say to 2020....
  6. <whistles innocently>
  7. Today I learned that while Legend was being filmed, a View to a Kill was also shooting at Pinewood. So Grace Jones would hang out with Tim Curry while he was getting his makeup done.
  8. B5 always gave some good thoughts...
  9. No-one does Agile right. Even the people who developed it use it wrong. That's the nature of Agile.
  10. Note... Depends on which series of his you're reading. Legacy of Aldenata - More military sci-fi, some right wingism, you don't get the "oh john ringo no!" moments until the last couple of books. Troy Rising - Pulpy silly fun, with only a couple of "oh john ringo no!" moments. Empire of Man - co-written with David Weber. All fairly sane (as Baen sci-fi co-authored by those two can be). Paladin of Shadows / Ghost - The originator of the "oh john ringo no!" meme. It's there from the very first chapter and goes on. I've got a few friends who have been involved in running sci-fi/fantasy conventions in the US, and one of the things they all agree on, is that John Ringo can be an entertaining, well-spoken, intelligent individual.. who is incredibly upfront about the fact that he can also be a complete ****, and that you better be prepared for that when you talk to him. He pretty much hangs the sign of "I'm an ****, if you talk to me, don't be surprised, if you are, you chose to engage me in conversation knowing that."
