Also, just because...

One important thing to remember about the upcoming Dune film.... It's only half the story. And apparently, the contracts haven't actually been signed yet by the production company for financing the second half. They haven't explicitly said where the cut-off point is, but from things that have been mentioned I'm guessing the film cover's the general backstory, the Atriedes arrival on Arrakis, and ends with Paul reaching the Fremen for sanctuary. That would mean Villeneuve's planned second half would be able to run with the whole Fremen training montage, the Harkonen's brutalisation of the populace, and the eventual Muad'dib rising and crusade and claiming of the throne.

Not strictly game news per se, but some talk around the RedEngine and how it was re-designed for Cyberpunk, as collected and repeated by one of those youtube personalities..

Hm, so I joined in 2009, so I've been roaming around these here boards for 11 years. Time does fly.

The flip side to that is the question of how many kids have been produced by forum members over the years, and the odds of them becoming gamers who lurk on forums in the next x years....

I wandered into the depths of the abyssal horrors here when Alpha Protocol was in the works. I'd been playing the games long before, but I never really focused on the process of development in them until I'd seen some of Obsidians teasers into what was going on, the conversational trees and choice and consequences as part of what AP would be. Then the news of it's delay and I wandered into the forums to see related news and keep track of things. Then I got to make a few snarky comments and watch Wals and various Soviet Comrades snipe back and forth. Now I simply get to revel in the fact that I win the leaderboard most days with my non-gaming posts....

If we're going with LoTR adaptions...
