  1. I think when you pulled in Abrams who repeatedly admitted he didn't like Star Trek as a kid because it was too philosophical... There's being an entertaining film to a wide audience, and there's being an entertaining Star Trek. I mean sure, the reboots did pull in fresh fans to the Trek Universe, so it worked on that level. The fact that it walked across the majority of existing fans to do so... Eh. Still. Enjoy what you enjoy.

  3. I think it's that survival with a loose element of storyline to follow, mostly paced at when you feel like it, but structured to guide you to fresh areas / new knowledge. Not just dropping you someplace with no clue apart from what the game box says for how you ended up there. Conan has that in a shallow guiding way. Empyrion has it in a general way. Subnautica has it in a more significant manner. ARK Survival is pretty non-existent with those elements.
  4. Being escapist from everything, taking a step away from the RPG slice of things to swim around the ocean in Subnautica. I seem to have slid into that batch of survival / build games of late...

  6. Man, and it's weirdly depressing to see a run of news of Whedon being toxic to some of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer cast back then.
  7. "There is nothing historically accurate about this film, it's just a festival for bisexuals."
