  1. I know in the west there is hijab ban, you ban Muslim women wear hijab. Muslim women cannot get job because wearing hijab. You western say if MOSLEM want to live in the west must follow western values. That's what western say...especially France... There is no such similar law in Muslim countries i ever heard of...you Christians can wear whatever you want...you are not a subject to Muslim rule. In my country there are two courts, Shariah Court for Muslims and Civil Court for Muslim AND non-Muslim. Means we as Muslim here have to worry about two laws, Muslim law and secular laws. Non-Muslim only worry about secular laws.... I've no idea where you got that ban thing (there might be in some places though) but I regularly see women wearing hijabs at my weekend job and I'm not even in an area that has a lot of Muslims. Also your comment on the dual legal system isn't praise but an indictment on the failings of a theocracy.
  2. Qistina, you have taken it upon yourself to educate us about Malaysian culture, and I appreciate it. As someone who has never been there and knows very few people from your country, that is invaluable. But much like you are telling us to not buy into the media portrayal of the US, I'd caution you to not buy into the portrayal of the US as Qu'ran burning zealots. I watch it from CNN and Fox News, not the media of my country. It come from your source, not mine. Through internet i can see everything, from videos, Islamophobia is bad and real. i see western peoples harrasing Muslims, bombing mosque with molotov coctail or something, stoning mosque, giving verbal abuse, kill a Muslim woman in a court...ect ect...Americans making rallies and shouting against islam and Muslims....draw a Mohamad day.... No such thing done by Muslims in my country toward peoples of other faith, we go to school together, eating at the same table, working together, we have companies where Muslims working with Christian/Hindu/Buddhist bosses...Christians/Buddhists/Hindus take place in the government as ministers, they also can become candidates in elections Treatment toward Muslims are bad in the west Well, most of the cultural clashes that the West has had with the Muslim world were with the extremist elements. So that's were they're coming from; except that incidentally those clashes came about mostly because of two reasons: the Cold War and the state of Israel.
  3. >>>/pol/ At the risk of coming off the wrong way, history is shades of grey. The fact that there is one period of time were everything is portrayed as black and white and every attempt at dispelling it it is silenced should be proof enough that the propaganda machine hasn't stopped.
  4. I'm all up for more draconian measures that ensure results but everyone seems afraid of giving the government more power while at the same time giving the government and the corporations who control it more power.
  5. Hahaha. You're alright Bruce. Your views are terrible but you can handle the banter. Okay but then I have no idea what type of SJ you believe in? I assumed you had similar views to me, not about Capitalism but the importance of a fair and equitable society and that would mean realistically you need to uplift people to the middle class at least So what US president do you support The difference is that liberals think welfare is the way up, but don't realize that like children people have to be pushed or else they will still be 30 without a job in their parents house playing video games. Okay good point, to be clear I don't believe in state welfare...no this is not what I would consider is sustainable or is about job creation. I doubt any Liberal in the USA would actually say this as welfare just holds people back as it gets abused? US democrats use welfare to keep blacks as their spoiled children so they keep voting Democrat and cant be bothered by anyone abusing the system. I know this for a fact because I work weekends on a supermarket and I've seen welfare cards that have 1000+ dollars in their account, meanwhile I work with people whose whole family work 2 jobs almost every day and were denied welfare. Seriously; **** welfare, It doesn't work. It is not helping the hardworking to get ahead and it is only making sure that their dollars go to help some shameless people that have no scruples cheating the system. You want to help poor people, then control government spending and get rid of sales taxes as well as some other ridiculous taxes. Orog what you suggesting is a serious indictment of how to abuse the welfare system and worse than that this type of corruption actually wouldn't benefit African Americans. It goes against everything the Democrats believe and I can't imagine is wide spread? Look up Thomas Sowell, his claims that African Americans are worse off 20 years after welfare than right after being released from slavery are accurate to a point. Welfare isn't doing the main thing that it was meant to do which is to raise the standard of living, meaning getting people off welfare not more people getting into it. @Barothmuk: Sorry that I wasn't clear, the supermarket I work at is one of those upper level markets for middle class and high class incomes. It is definitely not Walmart or Costco, and the people with those cards are driving some pretty nice cars for someone on welfare. Also, we know what people on welfare actually get (the ones that apply and get it legally) because we know people that are on it. It is never 1000 dollars, the only possibility its what everyone suspects: that there is money under the table so that our tax dollars go to support some shady bastard while honest people struggle.

  8. To be fair, that sounds like typical 'senior' dev behaviour. Is funny to not back down when that happens though The consensus where? To be fair it is hard to take it seriously because of a refusal to come out publicly; as we are only getting anecdotal experience from an anonymous source we have no way of confirming how true it all is. It could be that she/he is right or that he/she has some mental problems and can't understand human behavior, so while I find some parts of the story disturbing others I find too whiny. Either way Indie its where its at, or middle level developers. The big publishers are just corporate cesspools.
  9. Sorry to hear.
  10. Strangely enough I do well with children when I'm told I'm weird with people. Must because I'm not anxious about traumatizing them (in fact it makes a bit giddy) Seriously though, I don't put on kid gloves for children and they seem to respond to the earnest tone by themselves becoming more earnest.
  11. Maybe its time to bring back your old signature?
  12. Must resist!!!...**** it I donated.
  13. I'd rather direct them to a place with actual hardship, or one that won't put up with this endless stream of stupidity but if there was such a place I might move there. snip I rather not trade a totalitarian support of stupidity for a different kind of totalitarian support of stupidity, I'm going through my second exposure to a country politics dictating what the public discourse its and I'm wondering if there is any place with actual free speech and an internet connection. I might try Antarctica but I don't know how many Mbps I can get there.

  15. Look my problem is that I can't do exactly what you suggest, I realize that omission is a useful trait when it comes to a lot of things but it is something I've never had. I could never just ignore what was on the back of my mind so I just had to face everything head on. When it comes to things that take time I just try to have something else that it is entirely different going on at the same time; the thing is that right now I desperately want my life to head in some direction but I don't know how to get there. I have a vague idea of how but I can't rightly ignore it when everything in my life its pointing me to the change I have to make but can't because it is not the right time yet. (I've to wait a little longer) It is just a matter of enduring and sticking to the path I've chosen but right now I just need a little bit of faith and that its why I needed to vent. Because tomorrow I know that I've to be strong for someone else, so if it isn't too much to ask right now I need someone to hold me up. BTW, don't worry all that much I've been in this stage a lot of times and I won't just disappear like Wals (whatever happened to him anyways?!) Just let me vent today and tomorrow I will be sober and back to normal.
  16. Alternatively it could have also been better if Padme impending death would have been earlier, rather than at the end of the final film. I might have more sympathy for a man trying to save his terminal wife than for one driven by the the self fulfilling prophecy that his wife will die.
  17. PERSONALITY: INFP ("THE MEDIATOR") VARIANT: ASSERTIVE ROLE: DIPLOMAT STRATEGY: CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALISM Don't know what any of it means though.
  18. I can respect that but in my terms I found them useless because the damage they didn't didn't warrant hurting companions. So it was a very stituational weapon and I preferred assault rifles for all of my characters. They had range, accuracy, damage and versatility, I didn't have to had the stars align so that I could get a decent to hit percent.
  19. Really? I dislike the misconception that shotguns are only effective at a range where you can see the whites of your target's eyes. Particularly because I've somewhat aware of shotgun range and how the bullet comes into play.
  20. Bingo. The Black Dog of depression has its jaws upon you eh Orogun? I'm sorry to hear that old man, and I sympathise as I know what it is to question life at points, indeed which of us does not? It may sound trite but there is value inherent in your life, just as much as some famous celebrity or some cultural icon. At times it may not seem like this but we are all the same, and no one can foresee the future: Someday your star may shine as bright as any others, or you may find quiet contentment in a life lived well and to your own moral code. There is inherent value here, life is the greatest gift of all, and we still live in a paradise that cannot be taken away, despite whatever pettiness is turned against us or how much we are not valued. Take pleasure in the little things friend, and try and build upon that is my advice. To be in a deep funk and yet still be thinking of others shows your character better than anything else, and says to me that you are a good man, something the world needs. Thanks for your responses, it is all I've heard before an all that I known but today I just needed someone to say it. The future isn't always clear and anxiety comes from wishing what it isn't there but today I just needed to vent. Tomorrow I will pay it forward.
  21. I solved a lot of problems with my life and made some progress on other ones and I question the value of life (although i'm drunk and I might just be breaking up). It seems to me that the value system that makes people believe in life is a bit faraway from me. By which I mean that the things I need to accomplish said perspective are not within my scope right now and I don't see them near. Sorry that I'm being vague, I'm not used to being so honest about myself and I might just be looking for some comfort (I'm venting right now). But to be honest I'm just wondering what keeps everyone going. For me it seems that sometimes it just the fact that my mother has made it clear that she would kill herself if I wasn't around, so I just grip my problems and wait out things that I can't change.
  22. As long as they don't hardlock people from creating their own mods and publishing them for free or on their own, it will happen. Which I would be glad to see, prudishness should not stifle innovation; but i'm not sure how I feel about depravity driving it.
  23. Better than before but stupid idea, publishers should take mods at a lost while cutting cost on developing useless DLC. But it might be too much to expect them to pay modders, on the other hand players really don't want to pay for stuff they used to get for free. This might work if for large expansions that justify a purchase but not for one costume.
  24. The problem with gifting points is that it screws with the combat balance, same thing with overpowered items (although they did that in 2). Maybe they could retroactively modify some skills while normalizing other ones and then have progression be more about customizing said skills to your play style. So for example keep the adrenaline finishers from 2 nerf them for balance reasons and let the player progressively invest in this skill choosing quantity over quality. Like causing damage and status effects to a group of enemies or dealing lethal damage to a single one. So a remnant of the previous game becomes a good feature of the next one. Quite frankly, I just came up with that but it sounds like it would be a better use of Adrenaline than anything they came up with. Done tooting my on horn
  25. OTOH, implementing a bunch of throwaway features for your game is kind of a waste of time and they might find the old system a bit too restrictive. Transferring is not as simple as it seems as there is a lot of bugs to fix and balancing to do, and if you do all that just to essentially start from scratch then it is a lot of wasted effort. So it is not a one size fits all solution, it could certainly work for games that have a linear progression across games (Assassin's Creed comes to mind) and that stay within the same engine.
