And publisher then pays (or doesn't) developers to create more games for them based on their financial success (unless we're talking older games) so... And then we get Shadow of Mordor and SW:Battlefront 2. I'd rather support devs that are consistent in their delivery despite publishers, or kickstart games. AAA is dead to me.

It just an example of a game so bad that it can't be played. Plus, the whole notion of "supporting" developers is nonsense, unless the game is being published by the developer. The publisher will be the one to get the revenue not the devs. This argument is more ridiculous when you're supporting policies that hurt the consumer, I should be allowed to have buyer's remorse and not "support" devs that did a poor job.

Why exactly? *Myself, I don't like return policies that seem exploitable to facilitate an easy out from buyer's-remorse; and in a way that hurts developers. It would seem to mean that a studio could have a fantastic few weeks of initial sales (and be saved!)—only to find out later that the sales were revoked—(and have to close shop). Space Aliens Colonial Marines, everyone that bought it should damn well be free to return that POS.

No. I'm talking about you can only choose to do the Lethian's Crossing quest or the Burning Citadel quests. Two questlines and dungeons that exclude each other when they really don't need to. Because I chose Lethian's Crossing this time, I didn't have enough evidence to bring charges against Nerat like I did in my last playthrough. I also didn't get the Edict of Fire. And that's aside from me remembering that dungeon being pretty cool. Must have missed that, I don't recall mutually exclusive quests. Then again I was on the anarchy path, BTW Haste + Sigil of SpellSurge on every second spell makes you a killing machine.

None of that has anything to do with gambling. Microtransactions and parents getting crazy bills have been a problem for years. I completely agree with it being a messed up business practice. I want disclaimers and complicated authorization procedures to make it easier for parents to avoid massive bills on their credit cards. I don't want to government banning stuff and calling it something that it isn't. That is a massive overstep. I do not see how this is any different than the decency laws drafted to protect children from violence in video games. I would say that having massive disclaimers not written in fine print would be an acceptable compromise. But you don't start haggling at your goal you go above it and get talked down.

You're missing the point; someone in a company has an idea that they believe will make money, they push that idea and since everyone at the top are little greedy imps they go ahead and implement it drooling over their coming profits. So it gets implemented irregardless of whether is consumer friendly or if it will go well with their target demographics. The only thing that gives them pause is the law because that means they're liable to be sued. TL:DR: Companies would sell your children crack if it was legal because its a guaranteed returning customer.
