  1. I think you are worrying a but too much about perfecf party. Respec is insanely cheap in game, so there is no problem of trying different builds during one run
  2. Check out the requirements for getting on build list. It include certain rules that was not followed there. Additionally list stopped updating long ago No, Thery are even more powerful xD Who knows. In net? Made themselves? Its not hard to add custom portrait to game:
  3. How long ago was that? I just recently checked and I was able to select them on fury sidekick... Strange.
  4. https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Kalakoth's_Minor_Blights It is both spell and item. Spell summons wand which has absolutely ridiculous stats + hit in AOE + each enemy hit by this AOE trigger blast talent AOE providing even more interlaping AOE. It's not anything too special in term of build. - too little things needed to make it work(basically 3 spells and high int and might). From spells you'll require Infuse with Vital Essence on tier 2 spells, Deleterious Alacrity of Motion and Kalakoth's Minor Blights on tier lvl 3 and thats close to it. Feel free to experiment with other. Citzal's Martial Power also really great with this build but I prefer my wizard not to loose casting ability. Apart from that Wizards in PoE can learn spells from other grimoires so feel free to experiment. out of 4*8=24 different spells you can prepare for encounter to make kalakoth's blight user you need just 3/4. Feel free to fill other slots with chill fog and other CC stuff. Setup CC, Summon blights, autoattack till it time to renew CC Ciphers are generally CC. It does not interact as cipher need to do damage to recharge himself. Essentially you have two mods - damage dealing charging, and CC casting
  5. You can roll Kalakoth blaster wizard then if you want moon godlike. It nicely offset self-hitting nature of dangerous implements. Character will summon Kalakoth minor blights, cast Delaterious Alacrity of Motion on himself and spam autoattack. Very simple build - high MIG, high INT, High PER, dump res. don't dump con. For talents - Blast, Penetrating blast, marksman, weapon focus: Noble, dangerous implements. Very simple to roll Cipher, Chanter and Wizard all viable possibility for machanist as they have intrinsic bonus to mechanics. Ranged Cipher... Do you want gunner or bowman? Cipher can be just insane with bow at high level becoming pretty much PoE version of doom 2016 machinegun in siege mode. On other hand there is really sweet blunderbuss in game and cipher get focus for each pellet strike seperately xD
  6. Belt of the Royal Deadfire Cannoneer and Forgemaster's Gloves allow you to cast Firebrand 3 times a day each. Int determines area of effect for carnage, frenzy duration and other goodies. Literally for Barb INT > MIG
  7. It is already decent choise. It just not made of cheese anymore as previously you literally did nothing and got focus. Now you have to hit someone to generate focus But why don't you try to make some build for cipher based upon what you want in your party? We can help you with stats, races and talents and as you noticed - there is quite understandable meta spell list so spells pretty much defined for you already xD
  8. Yeah. I wonder how he managed to beat WM1 then. Or did he ignored all sidequests...
  9. Just learned today. In case someone cares( I think no one) - guy ended up dropping character because he couldn't do anything and was stonewalled by eyeless. He was lvl 10. Rest in piece Short John Just to commemorate - chant list and spells as well as talents
  10. It isn't blocked. Also some of summon spells are not marked as summoned creatures(oozes) so lifegiver casn use them
  11. Good thing this post came up as I wanted to ask for quite some time. Why is this strange weapon setup? Wouldn't it be more logical to have it: Azureith and Bleak Fang both per encounter spell on on crit so you start with them, unload huge strike on crit and switch to weapon with passive bonuses that will reliably work till the end of fight? P.S. Girdle of Driving wave is good alternative for Coil. Sure, no stat bonus, but at the same time - full attack for dual wield character(!). Also insanely easy to get
  12. Yeah, amount of cheese in this build fall down but it is still cheesy. Its good build, but I think you already has enough melee guys This is twin character build, yes, but they can work seperately as well. I would personally dropped novice suffering there and combined second slots into one build rearraging talents for range(I like range character, they do not suffer from bottlenecks) Not very optimised, but working
  13. Mercenary has pretty decent bonus. And priests do not make good mechanists as there is no +2 Mechanics background so you want class with at least +1 to mechanic(As you want to push mechanics very high). Chanter, Wizard or Cipher will make better lockpicker then priest This build is ok as merc. It just it will miss some stats
  14. Anyone made any tests about what are breaking point for which active and passive skill. For example how much survival is needed to succeed in survival all checks or how many mechanics is overkill for most of locks(that one door in forgotten sunctum is exception)?
  15. Only main character paladin or priest skill scales with reputation(unless enabled otherwise in IEmod) because it is your desposition, not everyone else. Think of that as you are going with bunch of mercenaries. THey do what they are payed for and doesn't care much about your own alignment. So unscrupulous priest of Skaen can still work for you. So other characters just get skill progression based on their level. I think each 4 levels it jump up tier or so Also I wouldn't call Skaen evil. He is more... anarchic and rebellious if it make sence. There are few evil paths in game quests where special priest of Skaen line guide to what essentially "good" choise.
  16. Cauterizer is good in itself as well. If you'll like it, you can stick with him. Why not? He will fit decently as cleric does not have to choose or prepare spells. So if you like him, no problems. I personally like this guy as for me wizard is mostly party controller though I personally would have kept CON at 10. For 6 point I'd think about cipher. Cipher with Silver flash blunderbuss maybe? Or bow if you want powergaming way. Bonus point is that if you take Schemer priest, cipher will be able to provide him with reaper knives xD
  17. Still it has really high numbers xD I personally find Devastating blow a bit too much in most of cases. However during dragon hunting it is mighty good. THough I agree about scaling. I would rather have either Skaen priest with Schemer's Needle like build or cipher I dare to say anything is better then fighter but it mostly my dislike of that class talks. Fighter has great basic stats and he has good passives but that's pretty much all he has. I find him very dull to play with
  18. But lets agree, arquebus + devastating blow + enabled sneak attack + deathblows is fun Since compared to old DnD fames you do not need rogue to do rogue duties and as I understood for you rogue is light dual wielder - cipher can pull this role of quite well. Or priest of skaen, yeah xD
  19. 1. Yes it is possible. You can make up to 8 mercenaries without mods(and up to 99 with). Amount of recruted characters doesn't metter, however one that sit in the keep get less xp. But game has too much content so they all will hit lvl 20 near the end anyway. As for quest you can totally do that, only Aloth quest can be permanently missed IIRC. Only thing is some quest have somewhat chaotic progression so you might want to check wiki for them. Additionally you will miss an experience of Durance 2. Should work assuming you are ok with using some stat boosting item. For dialogs you would probably want more lore and less survival(maybe leave survival at 9 and lore as much as possible). Orlan would have a bit more dialogs but most orlan dialogs comes from fact that people love to **** on orlans so ymmv 3. What do you mean most parties? Afaik most players run full party of 6 characters. Unless they go solo 4. All classes are very flexible so you can make pretty much any composition. Cleric is almost broken in first game so get it for sure. Mage can be awesome CC or do quite some damage with Kalakoth minor blight summoned weapon or with Spirit lance. I like chanter in party. Chanter is pretty much Neverwinter Nine 2 bard. He even comes with his own version of Song of Requiem called Dragon Thrashed. Cipher is kinda similar to arcane trickster from dnd in term of its position. Kinda rogue, kinda caster hybrid. Barbarian is pretty cool at clearing out enemies. Monk btw is much much less kung-fu master here. He get no penalties for wearing armor(and no bonuses for running nude), he get unarmed damage bonus but all his skills work with weapon as well. So monk in plate with shield and sword is valid. So is the monk with a giant flaming sword Godlikes can be any class. THere isn't that many good pieces of headgear in game, so most likely you will have to equip someone by "what I have that no one want" principal anyway. Might as well have 1 godlike in party. Or two
  20. looks like most of broken builds depends on mortars xD
  21. Only problem with chanter bonus from Blightheart is that wizard bonus exists xD
  22. Very necroposting but who knows, maybe will help someone else I personally roll DoC as reposite tank. Basically hatchet, shield and defencive talents. She has 15 resolve after all. I drop Reckless assault in favor of escape and savage attack to not take Def penalty. So my build is something like this(i do get her quite late though): Lvl 2: Weapon and Shield style Lvl 3: Dirty fighting Lvl 4: Cautious attack(don't stuck with priesdt buffs iirc but nice to have during most valnurable time in fight - before buffs) Lvl 5: Reposite Lvl 6: Superiour deflection Lvl 7: Adept Evasion- our Reflex already decent so nice to have Lvl 8: weapon focus: peasant Lvl 9: Escape Lvl 10: savage attack Basically thats core of my version of her build. I take visious fighting somewhere later and other stuff is taken depending on situation in party. What I do not do is upgrading her breastplate so she would be looked at as squishy target by ai. Basically fight start, you escape into the enemies, they hit you, you hit back with reposites and hold them this way.
