Could we win XP in multiplayer matches?
mkreku replied to Eriksharp's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
You realize a diablo-style multiplayer framework simply doesn't work for a mainly story-driven game, right? It sort of breaks any sense of immersion or balance to have a level 30 friend bring his character into the early stages of your game. I've never understood this argument. Maybe someone wants to break the balance early in his game. So what? Maybe some people like power-levelling their tiny friends. So what? Is it really worth breaking a system to try to stop people from playing the game the way they want? I just don't get it. -
I think my Fallout: New Vegas must have crashed well over 100 times by now. It is rare that I turn it off the correct way, it usually ends up with me killing the process after it's stopped responding. But at least it hasn't given me a blue screen since before the first patches.. Seriously though, Obsidian has a bug-ridden reputation for a reason. I love their games, but.. it's useless trying to deny it. They rank up there with Daggerfall for buggyness (almost).

Are you pretending to know more about the Onyx engine than the rest of us? To my knowledge there has been no published games using the Onyx engine as of yet, thus we do not know how stable it is, how technologically advanced it is or what kind of tools they have to work with. I used Cryengine 3 as an example because there IS a published game out there that's using it, the code base is relatively bug free, the tools are being described as excellent and the game that is out there has the ingredients that I think would make a game like Alpha Protocol 2 better (although of course it is an unknown if a complex RPG could be built into it). And who gives a **** what it looks like. I just want bigger-than-shoebox levels, better shooting mechanics and better game physics.

Still playing Alpha Protocol. I must be the crappiest Michael Thorton ever. I haven't banged a single hot chick yet, I most often try to not kill anyone in my missions and as soon as there's an argument in the dialogue, I bend over and offer everyone money. I just wish the game world wasn't so static, the controls so clumsy, the levels so small.. other than that, I think this game is the bee's knees. I am loving the dialogue, the missions, the characters, the setting, the emails (especially the replies I am sending to everyone), the skills and character advancement and the little details in my safehouse (although I seem to have misplaced my glass eye when I moved to Rome.. ). Please made an Alpha Protocol 2 using Cryengine 3 or something! We wants it!

Congratulations, Vancouver! For the first time in YEARS did a team I actually like make it to the finals! And it was a tough break for San Jose, but.. 4-1? I must say I thought they would dance with the Sedin sisters a little longer than that. Chicago looked much more dangerous.

You need to check your video card temperature because those are typical symptoms of overheating, or at least a hardware error.

I found my old Alpha Protocol install today and thought, "why the hell not". Started it up.. and to my surprise I enjoyed it this time. It still feels clumsy and strangely claustrophobia inducing, but it's actually a good game hiding behind all those bad design choices. Having fun with it.

I saw Fast and Furious 5 recently.. Vin Diesel even looked fat in this one. But my Ukrainian mail order bride gave it a 3 out of 5, so I guess it was OK. Oh, and I really loved the actions bits in it, as natural law breaking as they were. I just wish it had NO dialogue at all.

When I grabbed the box of ammo behind the left..est bear, their hats flew off and they weren't cute anymore I see you didn't grab it yet on this picture.. it's the red thing behind the bear.

Played some more last night, and it made me realize that I have only exited the game gracefully ONCE. I always end up with a crash that forces me to quit playing whether I want to or not. But it's very good so far. I've mostly just walked around and explored, and every now and then I follow a quest marker when they are close. I've found five of the survival caches without searching for them so I guess the last one will be a bitch to find. I'm doing this DLC with a character specialized in explosives (100, baby!), but it really sucks. I only have 22 in guns, but I am forced to use guns anyhow. My thrown explosives never reach the enemies before they've turned me into cheese. My grenade launcher is so slow that the enemies rush me and when the grenade finally hits, I always blow my own legs off. I have a missile launcher, but.. I don't like using it. It feels like hunting mosquitoes with a shotgun. So Sniper rifle, brush gun and .45 machine gun it is for me. My sights wobble like crazy.

Hmm.. I do own an Xbox 360.. but three discs..? And shooting with a crappy controller?! PORT IT TO PC, DAMN ROCKSTAR!

Played a little more yesterday. Gave up after two crashes. I think I played for maybe 30 minutes all in all. I still like it, but those crashes are so tiresome.

Maybe we should start an Obsidian planking club? But since we're nerds we would only be lying on like.. our computer tables.. or an unusually high sofa..

Real men ride Ducati, none of that American, Japanese, British or BMW crap. Italian is where it's at! And since this is a motorcycle club we're talking about, this is what I'd choose if I'd join: How insane do you have to be to chop a Ducati?!

I did the exact same mistake. I shot them both and then a bunch of quests started popping up as failed.. I played for too long yesterday so I guess I liked it. I've just started exploring the place though so I don't know what to expect. But one of the first things I did was get up on a look-out.. and the landscape sure does look enticing. Well done, Obsidian! Now I only have to work for eight more hours and I can resume my playing.

Great. I am downloading it now at a ridiculously bad speed (something like 100KB/s) and I have to go to bed in like 5 minutes. Thanks for releasing the ****ing game at 23:00 on the May 17. One hour before it becomes May 18.

I'm still not seeing it on Steam? Getting annoyed here.

Open world, light RPG zombie game with an interesting setting? Sounds like a dream to me. And I have always been fascinated with Techland's games, from Chrome to Xpand Rally to Call of Juarez.

A short hands-on preview of Dead Island, one of my most anticipated games for the last.. seven years (!): http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/dead...e?mode=previews

A little worrying that you don't know what MLAA is.. It's supposed to be a powerful SPU based anti-aliasing technique, distributed through Sony's EDGE development tools. It was developed by Sony's Santa Monica studios. I didn't google that so I hope my memory hasn't failed me.

I've been looking for Honest Hearts on Steam, but I can't find any trace of it. When is it supposed to come out?

Is this another Red Dead Redemption? (ie. not coming to PC)
