  1. Can you give me the model / region of your Xbox? Are you using a stock Microsoft wireless controller? Is your Xbox up to date with the latest patches / no custom firmware? Just so you know, this forum is intended for costumer / customer support, and is not intended for direct developer support. I am doing what I can to help everyone out on my own time, but I will be out of the office / MIA from forums for the next few days. We are actively looking into all issues that we can from here, but requests for official support should be filed at http://support.ubi.com.
  2. Sorry for the trouble. Please keep me updated. If the crash happens again after the reinstall, It would be helpful if you could post dxdiag info.
  3. The patch did not retroactively fix the issue; it just helped prevent it from happening. There is another preventative fix for this incoming with the next patch. Unfortunately, there isn't a retroactive fix for this issue at the moment.
  4. Platform? If steam, did you try verifying game data or reinstalling the game?
  5. Can you zip your saves folder and upload it here so I can see what's going on with it? They are located in Documents\My Games\South Park - The Stick of Truth\saves
  6. You can not uncheck the 480p option. Make sure you have 720p and 720i checked. I'm assuming you're only connected through HDMI and no other plugs as well. The game should run at highest supported video settings. That's a PS3 system thing -- not a game specific thing. You might want to try deleting your installed game data (not saves) and reinstalling it from disc.
  7. That's a visual C++ dll.. They can be reinstalled here if you are having issues with them http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999
  8. did you try verifying steam data after disabling the antivirus? Apparently there are a few antivirus that like to mark files in the installation as viruses and delete them.
  9. Thank you for the save game. Did you happen to trigger the gnome or alien probe sequences already? If so, what were you doing to get grounded by your parents? It looks like you're game is saved as in book 2, not book 1 like it should be at this point of the game. Can you please paste the contents of build_version.txt to me? It can be found here in your steam installation folder in the following location: SteamApps\common\South Park - The Stick of Truth\
  10. You can try to fix your save by running to the farm or running through the lost forest to the Canada entrance
  11. I'm not familiar with f-secure but i would report the problem to them to see if they can add the offending file to their "safe" list. Or i would manually add an exception on your end. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do about this issue on my end.
  12. Did you try to verify steam data? did you disable steam beta? (shouldn't be an issue anymore.. but who knows).
  13. This solution only works if your game is patched. Please let me know if this workaround cleared the issue for you. We are still working on an actual fix to saves that are already in this state. but what about for xbox 360 It should fix the issue on 360 as well.
  14. Unfortunately youtube is your best bet. For technical reasons, we had to separate the audio and your player from the cutscene video. It's all combined pragmatically at run time to give the final result.
  15. I always loved how console developers (not bashing I'm a console gamer too just observing) are so set on making their consoles as compact as possible. Changing the size of the lithography of the CELL processor can only do so much to generate less heat. Not to mention having the case becoming more and more compact isn't helping, the poor thing doesn't have any room to breath. Though the real question I want to ask Sony is, why does the power supply of the PS4 have no reference to earth ground? I would hate to be that power supply when there is a power surge. The actual machine runs hot but if you keep it dust free it runs issue free for a long time. I got mine on launch day and it JUST DIED last month. That's after using it as a multimedia machine for games/netflix/movies/videos/music every day. I rarely have PCs last that long without some sort of hardware issue. That being said, the PS4 runs pretty quiet and cool 90% of the time it's on. Maybe they did a better job designing the case/components this time around.
  16. That solved it for me, changing the sound settings that is. yesterday i moved my ps to another room and a tv i havent been gaming on before. But the the funny thing is that i actually had souund in another game i tried before posting about not having sounds in south park(that was dragons crown it that would somehow matter). Anyways after my last post i went to play some nhl and to my supprise i had no sound! I always had sounds in nhl at my usual tv so that kinda told me the problem was at my end. Anyways, glad it was a easy fix at my side and thanks for the quick replys buy you! Just happy that worked out for you. Enjoy the game.
  17. Try reloading your last save. swap your buddy to a new one. then swap back. try to progress again.
  18. What version of windows? Are you running any special setup? for example: a mac with a virtual machine running windows. I'd update drivers and verify data using steams verify game cache feature. what are specs of your machine? If you could post your dxdiag that would be helpful.
  19. Sounds like it has collected so much dust it overheats almost instantly... is your PS sitting on a carpeted floor? Can your hear the fan? Maybe a simple cleaning does the job. I have my PS sitting on two rolls of duct tape so there is space between the floor and the PS. Does a great job in preventing overheating. Well, it did.... I'm going to take mine apart but I'll probably feel like a medieval surgeon not having the slightest clue what part of that contraption does what. It's actually sitting on a table next to the TV. I'd never run electronics on the carpet. That's just asking for trouble. I also am pretty good about cleaning dust out every few months. The first gen playstations had issues with the GPU giving out, so I'm not entirely surprised with mine finally dying. I've heard you can take the fan off and clean it / reapply thermal paste / reattach and sometimes the issue goes away. I really just need to find time to do it. If only I didn't have a job that consumed all my time
  20. Seems to be related to completing the game with David surgery and then immediately starting a new game. Unfortunately, the current workaround is to shut the game down before starting a new game if you have gotten the plastic surgery, or to get the plastic surgery and then get another surgery to remove it. We're working on a patch fix to properly fix it at the moment.

  22. I had the same issue with my original (fat 60gig) PS3. I left it alone for a month, and it worked again. It just recently (I think) perma-died though. The console powers on for about a minute and then shuts off. I can't even eject the disc from the console. I bought a PS3 slim when it died the first time, so I'm probably going to take apart the old one and see what fried. Going to bet either the graphics card died or the fan on it died causing it to overheat and shutdown almost immediately.
  23. Digital or from disc? Are you running sound through HDMI? Do you ahve a surround sound system or receiver you are passing through? Any information on your setup would be greatly appreciated. If you're not running a special setup, try deleting your game data and reinstalling the game. I know you were not quoting me but i'll tell you my info anyways. Its the digital version(from the US psn shop). I use HDMI and no extra sound system. I will try to delete and redownload the game tomorrow and report back. If that does't work -- If you're using your TV speakers, go into your PS3 audio settings and make sure that only 2.1 (stereo) options are selected.
