Ok, there is that. (thought I'd better voice my understanding instead of "liking" your digestive issues...) :D Its funny but those comments remind me of people I know who go to restaurants and order " the extra cheese burger with bacon" but " with a coke zero" to " watch the calories " Most of the time it's just sad, but if you're on a "just counting the calories" diet, it might be that coke that could very well push you over the edge. And if you're a reasonably big guy in the early stages of such a diet, you can eat stupendous amounts of food. Speaking from personal experience, I'll sometimes really starve myself so I can indulge in a Hilton Bacon & Cheese Burger (the best one available in Helsinki, in general).

Nah man, they've made the shirts one of their addons now. You only need a base pledge of $10 or more for them. They've put all the addon stuff on the main page of the KS, just scroll down a bit. And, if you miss out (there's only 10 hours left right now), you can still use paypal on their website later. Eh. Not the "Official Backer shirt with the Shadowgate logo". Or I've lost my eyesight. Anyway, happy for them. And myself, to a rather large degree, I have fond memories of that game.

I'd say it also pretty much eliminates any health advantage you get from using turkey over lean beef.

Well, just beat Blops2. I went in with 0 expectations, looking forward to something that would tide me over a saturday. Let's just say that I was positively surprised. A GOTY candidate, and more branching and C&C that at least seems to be way above anything above, say, AP or Witcher 2. O_O -
[Razer] Razer Synapse 2.0 Used For Always-On Data Mining
Nepenthe replied to matthewfarmery's topic in Computer and Console
Actually, I have pretty small hands for a guy my size. It's actually funny, I'm 10cm taller than my dad, and he has huge bear paws. Apart from that we're clones, though. :D -
I just don't find Reptiles cute in anyway , sorry Gorth. So the cuteness of a squirrel on my lap wins hands down The cuteness of a dancehall reggae dancing sociology major on my lap beats your squirrels, and I bet most puppies too. But I love puppies! (seriously, dancehall reggae works ass magic or something, even if my take is a bit small!)

[Razer] Razer Synapse 2.0 Used For Always-On Data Mining

My logitech G1 is on its last legs and I'm looking for a new mouse ATM. I have razers idiotic software already on my windows partition (I'm sure they'll find the fact that I use it to play SWTOR and nothing else vastly interesting) but let's just say that it's been a bit of a turnoff regarding their mouse offerings. In fact, I should probably look through the Junkyard for mouse advice... -
Got funded, btw. Too bad the SG shirt is in a tier that's way too high for me otherwise.

The people who don't like it don't qualify as haters by any stretch of imagination. More of the opposite, when it first came out everybody was frothing in the mouth about it's awesomeness. In fact, while I'm the only person I know who played it on a console, the honeymoon seemed to end at about the time the console version was released. Funny that. Personally, found it ok but apparently quite forgottable, since I can't remember much. -
Pfft I have 2 years on you, young 'un. There are always good excuses to be found why dating isn't a good idea at the time When I refer to the time I spent as a graduate student, it's not a question of excuses. I literally (and I mean literally) had no life outside the work. Eat, sleep, ****, read, type. OTOH, I completed it in near-record time just so that I could have that thing done. Re: the rest, I apparently just have really bad luck.

"Jack Wall & Trent Reznor". Right, should've guessed. -

Blops 2. It's pretty good, even now that the hangover's good. Really good audio/music design, on a par with the mass effects and human revolution. -
I spent two and a half years cooped up doing my dissertation. I'm 31 and my longest relationships are still measured in months. So yeah, I kind of have to keep things moving now.

Last night's date was somewhat less unsuccessful than the one from week before, but still rather far from a resounding success. Oh well, I knew it was going to be a slog after the two-three years in the research cubicle. Happily I'm not going to run out of prospects in the near future and new ones are showing up, too. So, nursing a fairly epic hangover and suddenly seeing the appeal of CoD like I've never seen without alcohol.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money I hope that helps. Or, more seriously, this wouldn't have gotten done any other way in the reality we exist in. -

It does? Because I just watched the first of it, and I'm having trouble to see any difference. Okay, light effects are better but that's it. Having bit trouble to see the point of the enchanced edition.. while it's of course nice to get a version that will most likely work better with modern pc's, but what else does it do? Adds a monk npc to the game who is voiced by Mark Meer? Yay? I just feel like they could have done more than that. Like give the graphics engine a real update. I think it's been rehashed here enough times, there's 3 new npcs and they did all they reasonably could without having the original assets. It really boils down to whether you consider the ease-of-use upgrades, bugfixes including previously unfixable ones and enhanced platform support (I don't think a mac bought after 2001 has been able to run BG1 natively) worth the investment. I do. -
They managed to deliver a better sequel to Deus Ex than Eidos ever could, though.

I'm sure they would provide through all the possible outlets, if they had the choice. Fact is, they don't, so choosing the one where they don't have to give away a slice of the pie makes most sense. I'm buying three copies, anyway (pc, mac and ios). -
1) They are fanatics, their actions aren't necessarily rooted in any reality we perceive 2) because they are fanatics, they know that Israeli (over)reactions will just provide more foot soldiers for the Cause. OTOH,

Norway appoints Muslim woman Minister of Culture

I don't really think, that there are that many more than those listed. Sort of scary that I'm old enough to remember them being 'news' rather than 'old history' I'm pretty sure there are small individual cells that don't get a lot of attention outside their respective countries. The Red Brigades had that brief rebirth some years ago etc. Anyway, that's still an ass-ton of people and certainly enough to invalidate any point that there hasn't been a white European (that's what we're talking about here, right?) terrorist since the 80s apart from old Andy. Who looks just like the president of the Finnish conservative party's youth wing, funny. -
I used to have the mac version back in the day. That rope bridge confounded me for years, until I had a revelation

The sole exception, if you exclude ETA, 17N, IRA etc... (P)IRA was the only one to have religious connotations, loyalists as well, I'll give you that. ...and yet there was a significant nationalist component to it (The Irish conflict) as well, possibly way overshadowing any religious significance (the occupied versus the occupier). Italys Brigate Rosse, Baader-Meinhof/RAF... enough murders and killings to make upstarts envious of the infamy and notoriety of the homegrown terrorists in Europe. Yeah, I probably should have inserted "any" there. Personally consider the difference of the type of ideology that motivates terrorists to be of secondary importance, in general. A great deal of islamic terror is related to the Israeli situation, so there is a nationalist component there as well. The groups I picked were the ones that have been active most recently that I could think off the top of my head, certainly 90s and up to the 2000s as well, and wasn't meant to be an exhaustive list. That would take a while. -
See, those are the two things about the classic RPG way of doing things that absolutely bore me to tears. I'd hazard a guess that the classic RPG formula is so successful because it offers something to so many different people. Tactical combat, the above, a deeper, more personal experience... Which also explains that some people feel a lot more disenfranchised than others with the way RPGs tend to get built these days.
