  1. Hungry? Mmh, unintelligent creatures default to true neutral. So, yeah. Lurky enjoyment here, too.
  2. It sounds more like the initial concept of (Bio's, not SSI's) first Neverwinter Nights, repackaged and with a new buzzabbreviation stuck to it. And it was a bad idea already back then. The addition of Salvatore and the current incarnation of FR just puts it in the :x :x :x :x :x :x territory for me. :x needs a few more. gah.
  3. Well, that point I can identify with.
  4. Your point being? It's not like either of the aug systems (in DX or IW) were that balanced or successful. Just the fact that they are critically looking at IW instead of either blindly adopting or discarding everything from it is a good sign.
  5. This kind of stuff is really sad, even when there's no major 'sinister gov't agenda' to back them up. There was a recent Finnish statistic, according to which 20 % of rape charges were proven to be made up by the putative victims. And this is based on those that can be proven to be false, there's always the middle ground where you don't have the evidence either way... Sick.
  6. To be fair, even if they loved IW they would probably say that just to be better received by the old fans. More like, to be unfair. When you are talking about gameplay concepts, lying just to please old fans would be... idiotic. While Deus Ex almost definitely has a special place in many old gamers' hearts, just kissing up to that crowd would be silly. Especially since it's now been, what, 10 years since DX came out, and it's a PC/PS3/X360 release... I remembered reading this, and in fact wanted to refer to it a while back, so thanks for digging it up again. While it's nice of them to have a chat with Warren and the Witchboy, I think that having Sheldon Pacotti sign on even to give a vague stamp of approval to the story is a brilliant move. (Now THIS I agree is being done to have the game better received by old fans - not just common sense like distancing yourself from DX:IW)
  7. That's the difference between camp and cheese.
  8. I was up until 5:20 AM, playing Mass Effect 2. On my fourth playthrough. There's a lot of things in this game, including changes from ME1, that I don't particularly like, but somehow it really manages to suck me in unlike any game has since, well, Throne of Bhaal came out. Br
  9. Saw the ex for the first time in a couple of months. Felt surprisingly good, maybe I've finally reached the part where the pain is over and I can just look back and remember the good things. For those good things were, indeed, amazing. Also, landlords (and employers= traditionally have a rather optimistic view of their rights. Of course, YMMV, we have relatively clear rules in Finland (and having actually presided in a few eviction cases, I probably have a better-than-average-lawyer's understanding of it...)
  10. We all know what skill trees have done to Oner. He still bears the scars. The scars... and the adult diapers.
  11. Are you insane? The ME fanbase would have a collective heart attack. Considering the RAGE they are experiencing over something as trivial as the game being ported onto PS3, I would suggest that they'd spontaneously combust instead.
  12. Actually cocaine was given as an incentive to black workers because it's stimulant properties. ... and it's taken by models because it's also a diuretic. Clearly a win-win situation.
  13. Rumor going around that due to an editorial error, the placing of Finland and Switzerland were accidentally reversed. :D I'm sure the good-looking women that we sent to give the Newsweek people a good time were Estonian temp workers. Most of them are.
  14. Noober in Baldurs Gate My reaction was going to be the same thing. There's a lot of coincidentalities to other games (witcher, AP) that make one think how coincidental they are. Of course, other devs pull stuff from bio games, so I can't really blame them for doing the same... which, again, might be a coincidence.
  15. Yeah it's sad. But still gives a good laugh. Mmh, I think it does paint a kind of a sad picture. On how important the exclusivity of Mass Effect was to the console warriors and how many of them there were in the ME section of the Bio boards. Especially disturbing on the facebook page, where you can see from the profile pictures that most of the loonies would appear to be, in fact, over 16... The major point of interest here is going to be how the missing ME1 is handled for PS3ers. I'd like to think the Bioware have something planned, but if I were to make my judgment based on the PS3 port of DAO, it might be wishful thinking on my part...
  16. LMAO at the EPIC whining taking place at the Bio forums. Just can't understand it on any level.
  17. I think there have been a few things mentioned that have made me think of Witcher, but then again, I haven't played it (yet). Maybe when the dissertation is done, I'll reward myself with that one.
  18. Rights question, obviously. Now the interesting part is going to be if there's some INTERESTING way to set the major variables for ME2 (or even an uninteresting one). Interesting might be some sort of abbreviated "flashback" ME1 played either before the Lazarus station or on the Kodiak, going through the critical NPCs and major decisions (basically Noveria -> Virmire -> Ilos -> Citadel), or if it's going to be just a dialogue on the Kodiak, or, worst case scenario, just being locked to the defaults. The rumors of Mass Effect: Genesis might suggest that we'd get an XBLA/PSN minigame that would allow to do the quick version of ME1 on the ME2 engine...
  19. I think we've had this rumor or a variation of it before every single gaming event ever since ME1 came out. Still, would be neat if it happened, I could mostly retire the 'screamer', as it's only used for ME games... I know Nep, but I found it funny how for some reason, Buck from GameBanshee decided to give credit to this rumor and publish it on the news. Yeah, I have to say there's some stuff in the rumor mill this time that does make it actually credible for the first time (ME1-2 George Lucas'd together to circumvent exclusivities). Well, we could be wiser in ~2 hours...
