  1. Nah, it's Activision who has to show that they explicitly breached their contract as a favour to their future employers and that there was an implicit understanding. Or explicit, as they seem to be trying to do. Coz' that's how justice rolls, dawg.
  2. I'm dual-headed, 24"+20". Dual monitors are awesome, but my old 20'' one died and I don't really have enough room on the table for a second one. I have a 40" tv, 24"+20" lcds, computer, x360, ps3, and three speakers all on the same table. Where there's a will, there's a way.
  3. I'd agree with you if I didn't have to A) buy dead space 2 first b) probably activate the armor as well. Since I won't be doing either, nothing will be "soiled". p.s. With the way the art design for da2 seems to be going, I seriously doubt a dead space armor is going to move it one way or the other.
  4. I was trying to play the Escape from Butcher Bay campaing. It was released in 2004. ... Who cares when the original version came out if it's been shoved into a new engine? In fact, I can practically see it on the design doc, "let's make it so that it doesn't work in 5:4 so it seems more modern!"
  5. Well, we have one of the three people in the world without a widescreen monitor in the forum. Does it have the additional, wholly inappropriate requirement of a dvd drive, or was this a digital download? ) p.s. oh yeah. I should read the whole post before being snarky. Still, I haven't seen a new non-widescreen monitor in six years, so I think you basically have it coming.
  6. In before the rest of the douchebag brigade.
  7. I think I need to do a DX1 playthrough while waiting for something interesting (not that I have played any of the games I bought from the Steam sale, but...). Too bad the Mac version doesn't work under OS X (bad Aspyr, BAD!), so I have to boot to windows for it. Always seems like too much effort, tbh.
  8. Actually a recent Danish/Canadian study showed a direct link between playing computer games and perceived hunger (i.e on average the playing subjects ate more than those who solved equations/read/played boardgames) - so DLC actually do increase waist size. Yeah, I only eat candy when I'm gaming.
  9. Stupid question, but I'm assuming that "Nukes" is some kind of role in the army.. or a technician handling nukes? If I had to guess (which I'm doing right now), I'd say it's what we laymen refer to as missile subs.
  10. Wondering a bit about that too. Was my favourite DLC, the only one where they actually tried to evolve the gameplay (and IMO succeeded). Warden's Keep was decent, Shale as well (but as a partof project 10 $ and thus essentially a part of the main game, and the discussion around it's DLC role is... mostly academic), but ostagar, golems etc. were simply not very good, and looked pretty obviously very low-budget. Awakening still confuses me, in a lot of ways I think that it's better than the main game, but it's also even more lacking in polish than said main game was. Well, I dunno, Shadow Broker plays a relatively important role in ME1, a crucial role in the ME1->ME2 comic storyline, and by the looks of it, sets up the scene for a critical point/twist in ME3... I was no liaramancer, but I found the story aspects of it quite interesting, as well.
  11. Which is why they a) try to make people hold on to the games by dripping more content (apparently this plays a role. I really can't speak from personal experience, I've neither ever sold a game nor bought one used) via DLC b) use project 10 $ to make used game sales seem less attractive.
  12. Well, I spent exactly three nights of my military service in a tent and was exempt from most PT because I had a law degree, so it does happen occasionally. Of course, my CO congratulated me and told me I'd gotten the best job in the Finnish army when my posting was confirmed. He was probably right.
  13. And TBH, in the context of DAO, even that budget could've used a bit of a boost (If there was a single scripting bug fixed in any of the patches - I didn't notice it. Some of the most obvious bugs of this kind, like the missing Shaperate's Blessing are, well, still missing).
  14. Still not getting how ME2 is less an RPG than, say, FO3.
  15. So it's 25 developer hours and 10 real world hours, right?
  16. No, but Dead Rising 2 has two versions of it's costume DLC. The paid for version which gives you bunch of new items to use, and the free version so people without it can still play co-op with those that do. That's pretty common. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit had all the DLC cars in the title update, and the DLC to unlock them was tiny. Clearly some people here would cry outrage at this, but again, it's necessary for online.
  17. I think most of us agree on the unscrupulousness of disc-blocked content, but I have yet to buy any game that came with such content. I'm also of the opinion that I would like to get lots of things for free, which reminds me of the fact that I did, in fact, get Shale for free. Now where were we?
  18. After we have decided what an FPS is, can we please get back to the usual "what is an RPG?" discussion? Or was that already going on in that other threat? /sarcasm
  19. I'm the only winner here, since I never bought the game in the first place, and won't be picking this one up, either!
  20. I agree with every word said here. Except r00fles.
  21. i think somebody's going to be in for a major disappointment.
