  1. And I can recommend NFS: Hot Pursuit. I don't generally like driving games, arcade or simulation, but the Cop side at least is total aces.
  2. I think that they've just figured out that a certain group of people will whine no matter what they do, so they start targeting brain-dead kids instead. See, it's all YOUR fault for being little whiners!
  3. The grant treadmill is the main reason I'm exiting academia.
  4. Considering she does the VO too, I would go as far as call her the actress. And yeah, just shows that it's still not quite possible to replicate nature's perfection digitally.
  5. Aren't they? We'll have to bow before your superior knowledge of the subject matter...
  6. Nonsense. I played DA on a console with friendly fire on and w/o the quasi-iso POV and FF worked fine and added quite a bit to the tactics of combat, limited as they may have generally been. I applaud the notion of having these things on toggles, but removing them altogether and adding insult to injury with the justification given - absurd. Well, I played DA on a console and found the scheme a general pain in the ass. YMMV, but your opinion is like an ****, sir.
  7. I thought nobody was bananas enough to use Securom with steam (any longer). Sure it's (still) there? Checked the Steam page, and sure enough you're right, both come with complementary Securom. Well, not like I was thinking about getting either of them, anyway.
  8. I think I'm using all of those euphemisms, of course some of the more scientific things don't really for jurists. And "valuable discussions" can also mean serious making out sessions in the office. Just sayin'...
  9. I have smaller speakers, a smaller screen and WAY more comfortable seating.
  10. It's probably even better with a Pioneer SC-lX72, 2x Tannoy Mercury Fusion 2s, 3x Tannoy Mercury Fusion 1s and a SVS PC-13.
  11. I really dug the music too, vastly preferred ME1 music over ME2 music (even though the Sonic Mayhem music in Kasumi was about as good as ME1 stuff). I think they went too orchestral with ME2, I liked the synthier stuff in ME1, as I felt it fit the retro space opera vision better (though personal music preferences are obviously involved, being a pretty major EBM/Futurepop buff).
  12. that's what worries me the most I bet by the time DA3 is announced, this feature will get removed altogether (controlling your whole party, that is) Nah, since everything is the worst case scenario, the world will have ended before that, anyway.
  13. No, they were there - Riddick, The Witcher, etc. are all published by Atari. Still, it's nice that it's finally on Steam and I'm going to take advantage of the sale price to pick up a second copy for LANing. Allrighty. I remember actually trying to find some Atari games I was looking for, and failing on all accounts. Guess they were just REALLY selective with the titles they were offering.
  14. Yeah, it's linked to the camera and more importantly, it's linked to the console versions and the more limited control you have over your party members - and probably also to the idea that they're ramming down our throats, that you don't HAVE to control other party members, unless you want... I never played with FF on, mostly because I didn't find combat enjoyable in the same way I found it in, say, BG1-2 (and did most of my playing on the subpar PS3 version, it was a bit more fun on the PC, though).
  15. I'm pretty sure alanschu already explained the thing here. But hey, we retread everything else, so why should DA2 friendly fire be different.
  16. Ahh you use a Mac. Well that explains everything. Hah, I knew somebody would bite. I use several macs. Among others.
  17. No, release date is "today". Pretty sure it didn't have ANY Atari games. Too bad it's just one step short of awesome and is not multiplatform. Still picked it up.
  18. Considering I'm about to boot up the Witcher on the mac here, i can't wholly identify with the peasants, either. Perhaps I just consider myself superior to people who advocate any single platform...
  19. Sure, and I agree with you on the latter part - which is why I was only complaining about the hourly lockups I got on the PS3 version. That said, it was with the "retail" 1.01 patch, I haven't played it (or anything else for the matter) for a while, so I can't comment on the current state of affairs. I'll try to take it for a test drive soon.
  20. I thought I had it bad with landlords' incompetent aides, but your story takes the cake.
  21. Maybe you guys just all look the same to me.
  22. I never expressed my superiority I just find the concept of console-only games ridiculous in this day and age. especially since it's so easy to port any game to PC. Either BS, or you should contact the administrators since somebody else is also using your tag. Now, more on topic, I'm generally quite willing to suffer through the occasional minigame, but I've always found the gambling-related ones to be terribly boring. Perhaps I should do that luck 10 char in FONV just to try what it feels like to be lucky.
