  1. They have a timed MS exclusive deal going, just like they had for FO3, except this time it's exclusive for x360, instead of exclusively boning ps3 like they did last time. I said this before, this means that Beth is taking MS's money instead of mine, not in addition to it.
  2. Unfortunately what I described above pretty much qualifies for "normal" in these parts, not crazy. My ex was the only (Finnish) woman I've met in the past 5-6 years who's life included something else than the terrible suffering of people in third world countries/not having outgrown the whole college style drinking. The hotter one certainly qualifies for this, but since her fixation discounts her as a potential long-term partner, and she is the younger sister of a very good friend, I still have to skip. Which is, in itself, pretty ****ing aggravating. Also should have pointed out that in the case of the former classmate, the decision was made years ago. I just have a hard time turning down a pretty face (and the horseback riding toned buttocks).
  3. Having this near-uncontrollable urge to troll some feminazis that have for some incomprehensible reason wound up on my facebook friends list (ok, not that incomprehensible, one of them is a classmate, another one is a friend's sister, they are both good-looking and were attractive to me before I realised that the only thing to come out of their mouth is extremist propaganda. I support gender equality, but dislike extremism of all kinds). One of them is quoting, in disgust, an old guy who compared buying sex to going to the toilet. I'm sitting on my hands to not go with "naah, it's more like eating out. Sometimes you do it because you don't have anything to eat at home and can't be bothered to go find anything to cook there, sometimes you are just too tired of all the stuff you have at home and just go for a quick snack somewhere, and occasionally, you just want to splurge for something that only a true professional can craft." The second one's saying that employers should pay for the costs of parenthood. This is the best idea for promoting employment in the 50+ segment I have ever heard. It's funny, I'm having some kind of political turmoil myself. I've probably said this before, but I actually used to represent the Green party on a minor level. But after working as a prosecutor, the whole coddling of criminals (well, except those criminals whose crimes are directed exclusively at women in some way - they should be castrated, unlike the other criminals who just didn't get enough love or free money from the government) and absurdly cumbersome social security program suggestions. Sigh. And, for the record, I do think that pimps and rapists deserve the harshest punishment available. I just think that strong-arm robbers and crackheads (or speedfreaks, as they tend to be in these parts) are quite as deserving of their punishment as well. I should probably cover my view on prison conditions next (again, having seen the dread pretty much even the most hardened criminals have towards spending time in a small room with a tv and a playstation, I can't really call for those "too small to lie down in, too low to stand up" things, but we went over that a while back):
  4. Deus, DEUS, D E U S. Or haven't you paid yours?
  5. That's ok, I pretty much ignore everything you say.
  6. No, I'm saying it won't work. Well, considering that he was obviously very OK with doing things behind my back, I kind of think I know all I need to know about him. And, to be honest, since he apparently know everything about me and what goes on between me and his wife - and come on, in addition to being "the one that got away", we were really good friends and at least a part of that still remains - having lunch, exchanging christmas presents and an occasional ~friendly hug isn't what I'd exactly call taking liberties with her. Lord knows there's a lot less savory things that go on around here :D I think it's been a conscious decision not to tell me about the guy. I'm not gonna ask. Well, not for now, anyway. I don't think that "messing around" is going on in this case. See above. She was definitely capable of messing around on me. Probably dodged a bullet, but to be able to know that for sure, I'd have to know a bit more. So kind of circular. I did dodge that demon of a dog, for sure, talk about shapechanged cat... As long as we work together, I can't really see a safe way for changing the status quo any further. I still got a couple of months left, and I'd be surprised if I don't completely disappear off her map afterwards, even if I wanted things different. But yeah. No matter what happens, she once made the choice between me and some other guy, and picked the other guy. That alone should be a sufficient reason to not look back, never mind the underhand way in which she/they did it. Yet, as much as I can ignore all the other exes, this one was, and still is, different. But, on the topic of today, final stages of dissertation crunch. Feeling the kind of handbag-pissy only a wall of stress can create. So probably should just exit all online forums until it's done. Kind of needing some human contact, since I'm avoiding all my friends for the same reason.
  7. No. Because then I would have to lay out a careful argument with references instead of just looking around and going with my gut feeling. I do it for a living (meager as it is), so I prefer to stick to just shooting my mouth/fingers off here. Even if it means that occasionally some snotface calls me out for using wikipedia as a source in a Serious Internet Discussion (aka budding flamewar).
  8. Yeah, I call the rest of your life and rise with Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Also, well, my issue is somewhat dissimilar in that there is very little wondering going on, there's a pretty good understanding between me and the ex - just doesn't change the fact that she preferred to marry the other guy (who I've never met or don't know anything about. As I don't ask, either). Also not approaching other exes. Those have been seen, and we have nothing further to offer each other. The ones I'm now eyeing are the ones that I know from some occasions, but never wound up together with due to commitments on either side. With 30 approaching, there's a lot of those who have recently dropped out of serious LTRs and are, in some cases, single for the first extended period in their lives.
  9. See, the real reason you don't like DLC is that you are a cheapskate. If a game interests me, I pick it up when I see it. As I'm pretty current on the games industry, I generally pick up games when they come out. Sometimes, what I read about a game doesn't initially rise my interest, I can pick it up significantly later if something changes my mind - this is what happened with, say, Mass Effect. Sure, sometimes when I see something like Arkham Asylum for 20e, like I did in October, I'll pick it up, but mostly I just follow the above pattern. In recent years, the amount of yearly purchases has gone up, so I think I picked up around 6-7 last year. I've never considered myself a hardcore gamer, though, and I can go for weeks at a time without booting a game up once (I haven't played anything this year, so far.)
  10. No. But a lot of our regular complainers seem to have rushed through the games they are complaining about in about 1/3 to 1/2 the time people who enjoyed the game did. This means that a) they never gave the game a proper chance in the first place (and am wondering why they bought it - since I HOPE they bought it) or b) they should have just given up when they decided it wasn't up their alley.
  11. You did tell us (and we commiserated), congrats on finding a good place + suitable neighbours and here's to a good HT system. Your gaming experience will never be the same. Oh, and I hope your bank has the sense to agree to alterations to the loan. With mass foreclosures going on, it's a lot better to hold on to the customers that can pay SOMETHING, as opposed to just taking massive hits on all properties. Our banks made this mistake in the early 90s, and the results were pretty terrible (they required a massive govt bailout after taking massive losses from selling people's houses from under them at 25 % of buying price.)
  12. Sorry to take this out of context, but I buy that, and more, games every year, and have never ever considered myself hardcore. Especially compared to the amount of games people around here play. Or is it just the act of buying them at full price which makes one hardcore?
  13. Had lunch with the ex. She's brooding again, I have a nagging feeling that she's actually breeding and figuring out how to tell me. Or something along those lines, I'm starting to recognise a pattern. Got a hug, wanted more. In fact, these things have not been working of late. Decided not to pursue my friend's younger sister (who was really ripe for me to pick), just because I got tired of her pinko/feminist BS even before I had tapped that. And can't really pump n' dump, as I kind of appreciate her brother and also need to keep working with him in the future. Too bad, coz she was HAWT with the kind of butt you only can get from horseback riding. (That's one bonus civilization never got right). So, I'm back to my regular thesis writing and thinking what I should do with the couple of girls I've had in "storage" for a while. I've really ballooned in my depression here, so I have to decide whether I should really hit the gym for a couple of months before I make any moves or start looking for some rebound action. Or consolation, or self-obfuscation to be more truthful. And yeah, just in case I come across as a total misogynist, I'm not really. Just taking the opportunity to be blunt, since I can't talk about the situation with too many people, and generally have to be somewhat more sensitive when I do.
  14. Well, Shepard's already in Sims, isn't he?

  16. It's not the size, it's how you use it! In fact, I want to voice my objection to the moderation teams sizeist attitude towards sentences!
  17. TBH, crowds in Helsinki are generally pretty good about that. Still, I can generally get a blu-ray movie for less than 2 movie tickets, besides, I get the laydees automatically to my place when I show them the home theatre.
  18. Just as people accused of crimes are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, people who defend Axivision are fanboys until proven differently. It's the law.
  19. I'm honestly starting to wonder if you're just trolling, or this thing is actually so hard for you to grasp? No, I'm actually a fan of GoW.
  20. I'm honestly starting to wonder if you're just trolling, or this thing is actually so hard for you to grasp?
  21. I'd go as far as say that he's part of A target demographic. I think it's pretty much a given that they are targeting some of the god of war demographic, as well.
  22. I'll go shoot myself in the head instead of having to see one more post of amateur contract lawyers arguing a case they know nothing about.
  23. You really think that a piece of armor it's going to make anyone buy Dead Space? Considering the amount of people on the Bio boards who were bitching about being forced into buying DAO to get Blood Dragon Armor for ME2, yeah. Also, this is obviously meant to specifically cross-promote the two games. Make people who have decided to buy one for sure at the very least consider the other one. I know I did, momentarily, consider buying Dead Space 2 upon learning of this promotion, but decided against it for now.
  24. They didn't with blood dragon armor. Or with most ME2 DLC, before the PS3 version - in fact, I should see if Blood Dragon armor is available for PS3 ME2. Edit: (Not useful for determining future behaviour. Blood Dragon armor is included in the PS3 version out-of-the-box.)
