  1. Also unfair in that Obsidian had multiple shipped projects, while this was Eidos Montr
  2. Well in a completely combat oriented playthrough you won't really need all the stealth, hacking and what-not upgrades. Just strength, recoil, typhoon, dermal armour and perhaps some energy upgrades.. I think you'd get more than enough xp for that? Stealth requires much more to be unlocked and it's probably why they went this route. True. I'd add Icarus to the list, though; good for alpha-striking with the tyhoon. :D I agree, In the last mission I spent a lot of time sitting somewhere out of reach and recharging. Agreed.

The joke was in that being said in a J.C. Denton voice, but it sucked too much for me to explain.
  4. I just finished and was quite upset that Away from the game for a couple of days, so can't check it myself...
  5. And suddenly you're at the Mass Effect 2 illusive man end-game screen and EVERYBODY's bitching like there's no tomorrow. Since, apparently, if you get mission based xp, it's "no longer and RPG!!11one" Heh, serves you right. Even though I was fairly sure it was a trap, I was still wondering... They did a decent job with it! (also fixed that for you). I don't think it was meant so much as a surprise to you as to Jensen... Still, I thought it, and the Montreal bossfight were visually very impressive and well done. The Detroit one less so...
  6. I have a theory on that. I suspect that part of the subjectivity is a labeling issue. The physiological response between two people can be identical, but they may label it differently. One would call it tension, the other could call it fear. And then there's squealing like a schoolgirl when a splicer with a wrench jumps you from a dark corner in Bioshock.
  7. Absolutely necessary if you want to be non-lethal. And, well, explore, I suppose you could just avoid everybody.
  8. I'd say he desperately needs help, sheer conviction alone is not always enough to convince other people (though it happens). Since, apart from said conviction, I'm not seeing the claimed connections between the dots. Also, to add the requisite entropy expected of my posts, SCOTUS always makes me think of scrotums. The pictures don't help. But is that guy Scalia quotable or what! May be living in your lefty paradise, you just don't have any concept of the US constitutional system. Heh, at least I've studied constitutional law, and the problems we face with the EU basic treaties are very similar, legally. "lefty paradise", heh x2.
  9. p.s. The reviewer who said that the double takedown aug is useless, is either a lying sack of ****, or didn't play it past Milwaukee Junction. I think the same person also said that the Social Aug is useless, which is true only if you don't like to get bonuses from dialogues. ****wit.

Skip to 2:10 EDIT: No offence to the lad, but there's no way that 'guitar solo' is unaugmented. "my guitar solos are augmented" :D
  12. Wonder if it's greys and greazels now... :D
  13. They don't weigh much, poor things. I think I feel the weight of destiny accumulating upon us. We must set up a charity to find and help the poor dears. We will bring them health giving nutritious beers, and have them do gentle exercise, like jogging or dancing. Or sex. It's good cardio.
  14. Allrighty, if it's ze german version, I can't really comment. All I know is that I had essentially zero in-universe knowledge (well, of the "this weapon is that" kind, anyway) before I read the book, and I had absolutely 0 issues with the original version. Besides, I thought that unnecessarily long sentences are a required part of the German language. Certainly in the legal material I have to read! :D
  15. Meh, I read the book before playing the game, and I wasn't really spoiled at all, the info is complementary so it gives you stuff on the conspiracy but very little on the happenings of the game. And when someone whips out their Diamondback, is it REALLY absolutely necessary for you to know if it's a revolver or semi-auto? I'd throw a fit if the author would start explaining that to me! Also: Long sentences, brah? You mean it's not Tom Clancy?
  16. Ben Saxon from the book, who left Belltower to join the "Tyrants?" :> That's not all he did...

  18. The code apparently points to . Looks like the chase continues... :D Edit:
  19. It was especially harsh on the xbox as the scarce ammo + inherent inaccuracy resulted in some tight spots. Or maybe I just sucked with gamepad shooters more back then (in fact, I did). The DXHR route, where the ammo takes space in your inventory (unlike, say, DX1 which at least one nostalgia-ridden review seemed to forget), is IMO a very good compromise.
  20. Sure, some bands (like mind.in.a.box) have extra stuff in their CDs, in this case codes to a special part of their website with unreleased tracks and (live) videos. I buy all their CDs. Also get occasional anal retentive moments when want to have uncompressed/losslessly compressed audio, so tend to go on cd-buying sprees. As an added bonus, can keep them as an offsite backup at my mother's place... :D Been trying to concentrate on work all day. Instead have decided to start playing war of the ring and have been planning out my future mordor army.
  21. http://www.reddit.com/r/Deusex/comments/jy...uncement_today/ There was a message, it's just that no one actually knows what it means yet. Oohkay, thanks. We'll see how that develops, I guess... It's in Montreal. Feature. Aka realism. I was halfway through it before I even noticed it was in French :D
  22. It's not done by Remedy -> It sucks. Yep, MPINO. Max Payne was originally Remedy's in-house project, which then moved to Rockstar as a part of the publishing deal. But hey, since it's Rockstar and not EA, nobody goes all Westwood about it...
